This is the sixth part in a six part serial book. Although each can be read as a standalone it is best to read them in order.
Clarissa is an acclaimed journalist and blogger, who sets out to show the erotic side of prostitution by writing a blog article to her followers. She speaks to six women, in six different cities, and she has them tell her one of the hottest encounters with one of their clients.
The sixth she interviews goes by the name Asterisk, who left an abusive marriage and ended up on the streets with nowhere to turn. Some ladies on the streets took her in and she's not looked back since. Sit back and relax as she recounts the sexy encounter she helped facilitate between Jonathan and his boyfriend Noah.
Shakuita Johnson is currently finishing up her Master’s degree. When she isn’t in school she enjoys watching Japanese Anime, eating, and relaxing. She published her first book Dark Indiscretions (Dark Indiscretions Series, #1) in Dec. 2013, which is permafree on all online outlets for ebook.
This is the final book in the series and I think the most shocking one.
I'm not a fan of M/M books and I was a bit vary to read it, but I did it and even though the whole encounter did not leave me panting and wanting more I liked the story. It's different.
Asterisk is not your typical prostitute. She talks about it as a profession and is not allowing anyone to look down on her. She also didn't have easy life, coming from an abusive marriage can damage anyone, she is not humble like some of the other girls. At the beginning I really felt sorry for her, but later as the story progressed I wanted to slap her. So did Clarissa. You can see here that she is tired and have enough. But not because the poor girls disgusted her. No, she was more tired with the rich and horrible ones that treated people like garbage.
Shakuhita did an amazing job with the whole series. I'm looking forward to her next series told from male POV.
Asterisk was such a good way to end this series of stories. I think that there is truly something for everyone in this series. If you don't like one of them, try the next. You will eventually find one that Shakuita hit dead on for you and that makes you able to relate to the women in this situation. These are all steamy encounters that they have had with clients and their stories will make you think differently about "women of the evening"!!
Shakuita has done a very good job on this series to bring light to some of the things women do to take care of themselves and sometimes their families/children. Not every woman that is in this line of business is in it for the pleasure and that makes you open your eyes to these jobs they have to do.
I will be interested to see how Shakuita takes on the male POV with these encounters in her next series!!
I LOVED the final installment of this story. Shakuita Johnson has written a story that includes 7 completely different women all with one goal in mind. Asterisk was the absolute best way to conclude this series!!!
***SLIGHT SPOILER ALERT***
Asterisk is a little different from your normal prostitute... She comes from an abusive marriage, but goes about the "profession" a bit differently.
I enjoyed this book just as much as I did the 5 previous ones :-) Shakuita Johnson has created another character with so much personality that you couldn't forget her - even if you tried ;-) I highly recommend not only this installment, but the entire Kiss and Tell series. I cannot wait to see what Ms Johnson comes out with next.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
The next client of Clarissa's has a huge chip on her shoulder, but the encounter she has is def HOT, even though it makes her very upset hearing about it. Clarissa is so mentally wore down from all the encounters and is trying to decide where to go from here. She wants to help all she can, but is realizing that sometimes too much has happened or their lifestyle keeps many women from accepting help. Good ending to the encounters!
Very appropriate name for the character. There were times I found myself not liking the character very much, she seems to think she is better than anyone else, but her attitude adds to her whole story. Her encounter started out as endearing but as Clarissa explains she had no clue what she was informing them. I love that Clarissa put her in her place, but I think Clarissa was just ready to get everything done.
