Abbey Rhoads #1

Two Left Feet

Rate this book
Having two left feet may be the only thing keeping you alive in this town.

A serial killer is targeting residents of Port Angeles, the Mayberry equivalent of the Pacific Northwest, and leaving the corpses missing their right feet. Baffled local police seek the help of newly-retired FBI Forensic Profiler Abbey Rhoads. Despite hoping to distance herself from her prior career based in death, East Coast transplant Abbey welcomes the distraction from the hell of creating lesson plans for her new job - teaching snarky twenty-somethings’ at the local college - and from arguing with her sexy yet extremely opinionated home-renovation contractor, Max Edison. But her skills are put to the ultimate test when the bodies continue to pile up and one of them is the proven killer of the first six victims.

Now Abbey must figure out who has taken over for the dead murderer, while also figuring out how to fit into a small town, what the difference is between dating and just having sex, the bizarre thing called fashion, which precludes her from wearing any polyester for some strange reason, and finding where on earth she can get a serving of decent chili-cheese fries.

Dear Reader ~

I'm so excited to tell you that my newest release is now out, a contemporary Romantic Suspense, THE TRUTH ABOUT BILLY! In the heart of the steamy Amazon, you'll find action, adventure, romance and more than a few laughs.

My contemporary (humorous) thriller, TWO LEFT FEET, is out now! It's the first in my new An Abbey Rhoads Series and the next book in the series will be out later in 2016

I'm also working on the third book in the True To The Heart (slightly scandalous) historical romance series, THE BETROTHAL CONTRACT, which should be out soon! It's the next book after The Country Butler. I'll be releasing The Archery Contest soon!

Please do let me know what you think. I love to hear from fellow readers what they think of a story and the characters that populate that little slice of a world.
Cheers ~ Lori

Loved it--smart heroine and the rare appearance of a 40+ yo woman in a romance! Good view of the relationship from h/h POVs. Thank you, Lori!

This book sounded as if it might be interesting so I entered the giveaway and was lucky enough to win a copy. I just finished reading it and found it to be fairly engaging. The main character and her lover are very entertaining. I figured out who the second killer was, although was left questioning my theory at one point when evidence suggested another. I got 'lost' a couple of times during the course of some of the characters' conversations being not certain as to who was speaking. New characters seemed to appear out of the blue and I wasn't sure where they came from. I was left with a few unanswered questions. There were a couple of surprises at the end.

I received this book through a goodreads giveaway. I tried to push through the language that I don't like, but had to put it down when it reached a steamy scene.

Seems like it could have been a good story; characters were engaging enough as far as I read, and I certainly do like strong feminine roles. I am collecting books for a charity project, so hopefully someone else will enjoy this book more than me.

Abbey reminds me of Temperance Brennen. I did guess the guilty party. What did feet have to do with anything?
