Cameron Meyers is a prick. A playboy. Bad news. Want me to go on? ANYA I could call him names for days, but I'm just hiding from the truth... I want him in my bed. My Mom just married the father of renowned playboy Cam Meyers. He smirks from the covers of magazines, and he plays the lead role in most of my dirty fantasies. He's also intent on screwing me. I can't lie much longer...he might be a jerk, but that doesn't mean I don't want him.
CAM Anya is the one that got away, and I'm not going to let it happen twice. She can call me every name under the sun, but I won't give up. I know she wants me, even after all this time. So what if I have a reputation? They don't call me Big for nothing.
***Playboy is a steamy, sexy stepbrother romance with a HEA (approx. 62,000 words). Get ready for Cam to rock your world, ladies! ;)***
Caitlin Daire writes about sexy men and the smart, curvy women who love them. She has found her own happily-ever-after ending with her husband and two kids.
Sweet step-sibling story. This is just one more example of how we shouldn’t assume the worst of someone before we have all the facts. Misunderstandings like these two have is what either solidifies or dissolves a relationship. Communicate. The playboy becomes a man and makes a really big play at the end. Enjoy.
Anya Cruz and Cameron Meyers are a cute couple. It’s a sweet story and made me laugh. Caitlin text to be very predictable with her stories however it may just be because I’ve read so many of them.
I had fun reading this book. Each character has their own issues but in every way they prove they can be better for each other’s lives and be happy with how every relationship can impact them together
I must say, I was close to writing this book off. Anya was sooo annoying. I know a lot of people like to use the excuse that she was only 19, but really. At any rate, you were able to pull it out the fire. I really liked how their were no loose ends left hanging.
Lately, I've been stuck on reading these kinds of step-brother romances which are generally penned by the same author(s), so a lot of themes (and phrases, yes, exact descriptions and phrases) repeat. I've pretty much overkilled it and now I find the genre quite boring because they're all the same. H and h have met (usually had sex) prior to their parents marrying, the H is a jerk and the h has already developed a hatred for him and repeatedly refuses his advances after they become step-siblings. Most times the H is rich or a celebrity of some sort and eventually convinces the h to come around and they fall in love, face some sort of challenge or misunderstanding, get over it and ends with a HEA. Most times the step-sibling point becomes moot anyway because the two parents end up divorcing for whatever reasons. I have really enjoyed some of the stories, especially when I first came across it and it was new. Now I'm getting worn out and probably will back off this genre for a little bit. But, I'm glad I read this book before doing so.
While it did fall along the same story arc as other step-sibling romances have, this was really an enjoyable read. The H never was truly a "bad" guy in the beginning; a misunderstanding led to the h hating him. I loved the H and he was pretty much perfect, though some of his inner monologue was gag-inducing. The h annoyed me a little but not as bad as others. I was pleasantly surprised they resolved the initial misunderstanding in the first half of the book. A scene in the middle of the book during the family vacation had me laughing so hard, but I won't spoil it. It was perfect; I loved it. I didn't give it 5 stars because it was just too.... sweet, but it was still slightly better than some others. And surprisingly, , so it broke from the mold in that respect.
Given that every single story I saw listed on this author's Amazon page was listed as a "stepbrother romance" I'm going to take a wild guess and say she's done some fantasizing about screwing a stepbrother. I had no idea this was a thing -- although I guess there is something taboo about it. But that's not the point -- I had no issue with the whole naughty stepbrother thing, it was actually a pretty interesting concept, and I did love the ending of Clueless...
No, my issue was with just how god-awfully terrible this shit was in every way.
Don't get me wrong - I love trashy smut as much as the next girl but there's trashy smut and then there's just garbage.
Dare's writing is garbage. It DRIPS with desperation -- it's cringeworthy. I've always found books written in first person that switch from the female MC to the male MC questionable, but sometimes it works if the male character's tone and character is captured well enough. This was just...sad. This sort of fantasy, obviously, is geared towards satisfying the readers dreams of being adored and worshipped by a gorgeous sex god. But when you start writing as the male character you have to stop sounding like the diary entry of a lonely fat girl. Like literally every single time the male character starts talking he starts talking about how special and different and interesting she is and how awesome it is that she's curvy and THEREFORE DIFFERENT AND BETTER.
I paid $0 for this book and I still feel like it was a rip-off.
Another awesome read by this author. She has became one of my favourites.
I love my step brother stories and loved this one. Anya and Cam's story was unique in the fact that they met and we're together eighteen months before their parents got married.
Anya is a major geek. She is a gamer who live streams her playing while also being a full time college student. Going on a blind date from hell at a party at the infamous Cam Meyers penthouse, she becomes entangled with the playboy and the roller coaster ride begins.
Cam notices a beautiful girl sitting in the corner looking lost and he decides she will be his for the night. After sending the scum she was supposed to be with on hus way, they go to get away from the noise of the party and end up having the most mind blowing sex of their lives. Then the misunderstandings begin.
They are thrown back into each others lives by their parents surprise marriage, the misunderstandings keep piling up. Being given the task of trying to clean up Cam's image, they have to fight the animal attraction they both feel to learn to trust each other.
I think this is the 5th book in the 6 book collection box set and it was good, I'm marking them separately. Anya and Cam's story was unique in the fact that they met and we're together 18 months before their parents got married. The name of the book was chosen well with regards to Cam, he really is a playboy and even though he has a bad reputation he isn't a bad guy when you peel back the layers. Anya only judges a book by its cover, but after what happened their first night you'd understand. Will she ever listen to reason? Will she give him a chance? What will their parents think? What will the media think? Read and find out!
This book was only so so for me. Nothing special & nothing terrible but I guess if you're desperate for something to read this will do. Until you're able to find something better that is.
This book was ok but I struggled to believe the love/attraction that Cam and Anya felt because they were so young and immature. Overall it wasn't bad and I will continue to read this author.
