What part of hook up don't you understand?

It was just supposed to be a one-night-stand. At least that's what I had in mind when I agreed to meet the insanely hot guy on the dating website. The guy with the bedroom eyes (the kind that undress you from across the room), and the killer smile that left my panties wet. I wanted to get to know this guy. Or at least sleep with him. Because that's all it was supposed to be.

Except it wasn't.

The last thing I wanted was for emotions to get involved. Guys can get away with casual sex and hook-ups, so why not us? I was fed up with losers and liars, and determined to just have some fun for the first time in my life. No strings attached. And you never know, maybe let loose and explore my darker side. Nothing as crazy as what Christian Grey might deliver, but something new... something different.

Well, believe me, I got different. It was an absolute sexual awakening. A night unlike any other, and now I'm left wanting more. Much more. F*ck this guy and his impossibly sexy body. Not to mention his ability to make me forget that guys like him will chew up and spit out girls like me.

Don't even let your mind go there, girl. He is not relationship material.

That wasn't the plan. That wasn't what I signed up for.

Damn him... he wasn't supposed to be so intoxicating. So wickedly addictive. So incredibly perfect for me.

Except he isn't. He's the one guy I should never have slept with. He was supposed to be a f*ck buddy, and now he isn’t just the man I can’t stop thinking about – he’s my damn stepbrother. FML.

I must say I've never really been into contemporary, or stepbrother stories, but I really enjoyed reading this one.

Jackie is so tired of being pushed to the side by men, so she makes up her mind to be different, turn the tables so to speak. What she never imagined was that her so called one night stand was going to turn out to be such a hottie and not only in the looks department. She has set her mind to being detached though, no more getting her heart broken, it's love em' and leave em' for her from now on even if it was the best sex she's ever had.

Liam is on the rise with his tatoo shop, he has really made a name for himself and he can have any babe he wants, or rather they all want him. That is until he spends a mind blowing night with Jackie, problem is he woke up alone, that has never happened to him before. She won't even return his calls!
Maybe he just feels like spending some time with one girl instead of all those Barbie's hanging off his arm all the time. For some reason Jackie has gotten under his skin, maybe it's just the fact that she doesn't want to see him anymore?

Fun story, I loved it.

Jackie had been hurt way to many times to count. She was sick of it. It was time to take matters in her own hands. She thought she could find a guy for a one night stand and let that be it. She could easily be like a man and love them and leave them type person. The important thing is that she protect her heart.

Liam was this amazing guy. He was so sick of the fake barbie type. He wanted a real woman. One with curves he could hold on to. He was one that did not mind playing the field. He could be that love them and leave them. When his dating app peeped he was taking back by the curvy bomb shell that was before him. This was going to be fun. Can Liam handle a taste of his own medicine?

The one thing Jackie was not figuring was her one night stand being her future stepbrother. How sick fate could be. Jackie had a lot on her plate. She had a business that she had to protect and now the guy that she had a night fling with was sitting before being introduced as her future stepbrother. Ha, how funny is that?

I just love stepbrother books. There is just something about the taboo of it that I find so sexy and hot. Trust me the author does not disappoint. Holy Hell!!! Freaking Steamy!!!

Jackie has had some less than stellar relationships and makes a decision to just keep things casual. With that in mind, she decides to go online to find the man that would fit the bill. The more that she thought about it, she couldn't help but smile at how perfect it actually was." Liam is looking for the opposite than Jackie, he wants something fulfillig and long lasting. After one spectacular sexy night, Jackie has second thoughts. "A strange feeling circled Jackie's belly. Not one of regret or even fear, just... something new, maybe a sense of realization that this demi-god of a man, whom she thought she needed to keep at arms length had no intentions of letting her go. There was really no point in running. No point in the inner diva prevailing over ability to detach." Will Jackie give in to what Liam wants? What happens when their parents announce their engagement? OK so I was a little leery considering that I'm from what they now call a blended family. So the subject of a step siblings dating was a little off putting but I figured I would give it a try and I'm glad I did. This book was very tastefully done and wasn't icky in the least. Lol. I really enjoyed the way Ms. Scarlet North put these two characters together then bam and omg we're going to be family then from omg to what the hell, to screw it. I know this is a horrible tease but I really enjoyed this book and I believe you will be pleasantly surprised at how she resolves the issues of them possibility becoming step siblings and how they really come together. OK so here is my favorite snip it from the book and even though it is at towards the end of the book I could have totally seen the characters grinning and possibly doing this just to mess with their families. So here it is: “How much you think they'll pay us for a “leaked” sex tape?” Jackie half-laughed, her eyes darkening as she pressed herself against him. “Only one way to find out.” Now all that being said I have to let you know that I received this book for my honest review.

What a debut Scarlet North has made with 'Hook Up'.... it's a stepbrother romance with a difference, I quite liked it. It's almost a full tabboo romance, but it doesn't pan out how you think it will, especially after your half way through the book. The steamy scenes, WOW... I had to fan myself. The conflict, twists, turns, obsticles, everything just comes together & drags you into the book, keeping you hostage until you finish. I especially loved how the lead characters grew oncce they meet, how they interracted.

Jackie is tired of being 'that girl' you know the one who is too good for you, so making the desicion to sign herself up on a dating site for a no strings fling, she connects with Liam. Liams a hot tattoo artist who's looking for a distraction from life & finds himself intrigued by Jacky. A night of passion & then waking up alone, Liam thinks he'll never see her again. Then a 'family' breakfast with his father to meet his new fiance, it's the last place he expected to see Jackie again.....

I can't wait to read what Scarlet comes up with next time....

Jackie was dumped by a guy so she decided that instead of a relationship she will do 1 night stands but when she has an encounter with a sexy Liam she rethinks her decision until she learns some shocking details about him. Liam could not believe his luck when this sexy lady sent him an IM on a dating sight.They agreed to meet for drinks and ended up together for several hours. Things get complicated fast for everyone but can Jackie and Liam find their way to the end of the tunnel.

This book has a great story line and wonderful characters for any reader to enjoy. The author gave the characters very good interaction.

This is a terrific book! Jackie has been hurt and is sick of relationships. She decides she is just going to have sex and no relationships. After she gets on a dating site she meets Liam. They strike sparks off each other from the beginning and have a wonderful date and mind-blowing sex. Jackie wants more but is positive it won't work. Liam doesn't understand because he wants a relationship. Then they find out their parents are going to be married. This is quite a surprise.I definitely recommend reading this book. It is full of love and is steaming hot. Not to mention the great ending. I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was given the book free to read and leave an honest review (again I say ALL my reviews are honest). When I started this story I have to say it was a bit confusing for me. I'm not use to the telling of a story from each person's point of view. It was confusing and didn't make sense to me...it kind of bounced around some. But as you get into the story it starts to come together. I liked the main characters and was glad of the out come. Now no spoilers here! Just saying some people get what's coming to them and it makes for a better ending! It wasn't a bad book just a little slow at first.

Trying to keep the feeling out
Better that other stepbrother books. This story has some real plot and a chance meeting before knowing they are to become stepbrother/sister. A woman who wants to be self empowered like the guys are and forgets the guy might have feelings. A guy that wants her and then finds out he wants more. But she’s gone when he wakes up and he can’t stop thinking about her. Then a meeting with his dad and soon to be new wife and family is the last place he expects to see her again. Very well written and extremely entertaining to read.

This book was a great addition to my library. Scarlet North writes with great emotion and brought you into the story as it unfolds. One man, one woman just out for a one night stand find a whole lot more with many obstacles in their way. This book is sexy, intriguing and makes you want to hit someone all at the same time. It's what true romance is made of and I recommend it

It was a little hard for me to get into but it started to pick up around 30%. It seems like it was going to be a good story but it was rushed, when I got to the end I felt like I was missing a large chunk. Over all it was good but it was missing something.
