This book is a Christmas work of art. I was first wooed by the elf on the cover, whom I later learned was Tinsel the Elf. The illustrator knows the secret potion to lure in both children and adult alike, because the drawings were fantastic. Not to mention, the jokes at the end of the book had me rolling on the floor laughing!!! This was the perfect book to get into the Christmas spirit, even if it is 1 month after Christmas Eve.

Tinsel is one of the longest-serving elves for Santa at the North Pole. This elf is notable for having the capability of spreading the spirit of Christmas everywhere he goes. For that reason, Santa has appointed him a special helper. Every year Tinsel is assigned to a child who feels despondent at Christmastime.

Readers are taken on a trip around the world to experience Tinsel's successes. A boy named Timothy whose father has passed away, a girl named Maria Luisa whose family will be unable to be with her this Christmas, and a boy in Chicago whose family never celebrates Christmas are included among those adventures. Tinsel uses his creativity to lull each of his clients and those around them into the true spirit of the holiday. Children who are experiencing separation, divorce, a new community and fears of alienation will feel a lot better after reading about Tinsel and his charges.

This is a delightful forty page book that will delight elementary school age children and warm the hearts of adults who read it. Good choice for a classroom or family holiday read aloud.

Tinsel the Christmas Elf
🎅 appointed Tinsel Chief Christmas Spirit Elf. He was to bring Christmas cheer to children of the world. Each year 🎅 would assign him one boy 👦 or girl 👧 to cheer up about the Spirit of the Season. He spent the whole season with Timothy. He helped him make new friends. As the years went by Tinsel helped many boys and girls around the 🌎.

Excellent

My children absolutely adore this book. Reading literature is so important to the development of a child's mind, and I cannot think of thing I would rather do then sit down to read to them in the evenings. Imagination and growth are so vital in those so young.

Everyone should have an elf like Tinsel!

The stories are very uplifting. Great family read. I liked the activities at the end with jokes to say around the holidays & the fine-what's-missing pics. Each Tinsel story has the possibility of being related to a personal situation you may have experienced or someone in your life might be going through. Worth sharing! =)

This is an adorable childrens story about a very special Elf who is sent to cheer up all the sad boys and girls and get them in the Holiday spirit. Each story starts off exactly the same, which might cause children to tune out, but each story is unique in why the child is upset.

There are five short stories in this book. They are all about Tinsel the Chief Christmas Spirit Elf and his job of bring Christmas spirit to children, but be aware these are not picture books. There are also some Christmas jokes and some find the differences pictures.
