Quickshot Review
This has ALOT of smutnip for me - BBW heroine, hottie soldier werebear with an English accent? Check, check, and yummy check. He’s super protective without ever going into alpha-hole territory. Other than being hampered by length (it’s a novella), the story was fun, the characters well done, the sex is good but doesn’t overwhelm the plot and the conclusion was exciting. I’m definitely interested in visiting this ‘verse again.

Mina Carter continues to rock it, hasn’t been a book of hers that I didnt enjoy. For Shifts Sake, is just another example of her talent. Mina is one of the authors that made me fall in love with short stories (81 pgs) She balances a bit of detail, a bit of character a bit of story to come up with a short read that you will enjoy.

You can mistake Bobbie if you want to when you first meet her, but she’s a little spit fire that will surprise you. You will love her sass and her personality, as she fights to make it. The small town she is in, is only smaller for the “baddies” running it. No one stands up to them, no one speaks against them and it so happens head baddie wants Bobbie.

Now shifters we know are big, but even bigger is a bear shifter. Bulk and body thats just what Reese is, with the nack of taking down bad guys, on his way to Vegas he stops off in a little town just to get his world rocked.

Bobbie mind disconnects when she sees the huge male, the weather isn’t the only thing that is hot and humid. Reese’ Bear is all about coming to the surface and his control he is known for is tested.

It was just a fun book, enjoyed the storyline and loved the characters.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. I love shifter stories and this is a wonderful story. Recommend to all shifter lovers. Reese Connor is a werebear without an idea what to do after leaving the military. His best friend ask him to stop by and check on his little sister while Reese is on the road. Bobbi Bradbury is the adopted sister of a family of werebears and never knew it. Now she is running the family business and trying to keep going after her parents were killed in an accident. When these two meet sparks fly and plans go out the window. It is a stand alone book with an HEA. Happy Reading.

The heroine in this book is great, I really liked her. She was strong and confident. She also has problems, because she has attracted the attention of bad guys who are trying to push her into a relationship with one of them. Luckily, she has an older brother in Special Forces who sends a friend to check on her--and he arrives just in time as problems escalate.
The hero is a werebear, as well as former special ops. He has all the skills needed to take down the bad guys and keep her safe. And, he really wants to protect her, because he has found his mate.

Great pnr insta-love book with a side of action. Reese is a bear shifter ex-military, that’s on town to check on his best friends little sister. He figures out that Bobbi is his mate, but first he had to get the town thug to quit bothering her...and that’s where the action is.

Love Mina Carter books, her humor is absolutely priceless. Sarcastically funny, insta-love, quick & safe read. Loved it.

Hot-as-hell, fast paced, with some action, and a snarky, sexy werebear. One of my favorites from Mina Carter!
I love Bobbi she's sassy and doesn't take crap from anyone. Reese.. where can I get me one of him? Bad ass, overly protective, and has smarts. He's the total package.
I freaking loved this book and adore Mina Carter's writing. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

Cute shifter novella, as always with Mina Carter although short her stories are great and have a beginning, middle and end which some authors seem to not worry about in novella length stories. I loved Bobbi and Reese, the storyline was great and left me wanting more so I hope Mina writes Danny's book next!

Bringing peace to her

This soldier found what he had stopped looking for in the most unlikely of places. I enjoyed that the author held true to the soldier brotherhood and had our hero change his plans at the call for aid. I love the strong females he found there and the connections that were made. I can’t wait to read the next book by this author.

The Rescue!

Being hounded by a bully, Bobbie knew she couldnt stop him. Then on a Motorbike a British guest arrived at her Motel who was just gorgeous. He took one look at her and knew she was his, human or not. Now to explain the situation. Then he noticed her fascination with bears, toys, photos etc. Maybe it won't be too hard to explain.

WOW! Another spectacular page-turner from Mina Carter. Mina has delivered yet another deliciously cute, super-sexy, paranormal tale filled to the brim with heart-wrenching drama, heart-pounding danger, heart-stopping action, heated attraction, fiery passion, dreamy romance and of course, steamy sex. This is, after all, a Mina Carter story we're talking about and we all know that Mina writes the best steamy, dreamy sex - ever! Holy cow if you are looking for a book that gives you heat and a great story-line look no further.

In this book we meet Reese and Bobbi. Reese is a man who has just retired from the military for his first stop as a free man he thinks that he will hit Las Vegas. Oh ya did I mention he is a British werebear? Talk about heat right there. On his way though he gets a call from his old military buddy named Daniel asking him to check on his human sister in their hometown. Reese thinks will probably be an in and out check things out make the bullies stop and be on his way what he finds is so much more.

Bobbi is adopted and her adoptive parents were killed in a car wreck 2 years earlier. While it has never been her dream to run a cafe & motel this is what she is doing nowadays just to make ends meet. Bobbi knows nothing about her adoptive parents or her brother because before she was old enough to be told they were killed. Daniel isn't around very much with his military career so he figured why tell her. Well the reason why just walked into the cafe looking good enough for Bobbi to eat in one bite, or die trying at least. Bobbi feels the instant pull but doesn't understand it like Reese does. Resse figures out pretty quick that he has found his mate but with Bobbi being human can she accept him? Will she get the chance to find out when the town's biggest bully has set his sites on her and isn't taking no for an answer.

Like it started this review, this book is hot. There are so many twists and turns in this book like will her brother come home to help save her or will he be stuck overseas? Will Bobbi be able to handle the attraction between her and Reese? Can she handle finding out he is a bear? Will the town bully get her before Reese gets to lay it all out for her? These questions and more are answered in this book. It is a short read but packs a punch. I would highly recommend it.

Normally I love Mina's stories. This one...didn't come together for me. I dont know what it was. Not necessarily the characters. The story was ok just nothing too exciting. Like I said it wasn't her writing but perhaps story itself. I liked Bobbi and Reece. They had really good chemistry at first and I was excited to read but after she left his motel room after the towel incident it just fell flat for me. I have to be honest I skipped some chapters. :( I read the last chapter and so on though. I can't put a precise finger on it on what went wrong but something did and the story didnt do it for me. I would recommend the read but not everyone is gonna dig it. I think a couple other readers shared my opinion but seems most liked the story. I can't remember Mina ever writing about bear shifters though. I think maybe she co-wrote a short with Celia Kyle with the Quick and Furry series which featured a were-bear. Otherwise she mainly writes wolves, dragons, and sci fi stuff. I guess we can't like everything right? Doesnt take away from my love of her work and will always continue to read her stuff and buy it. This particular one didnt agree with me.

Omg I loved this book. I was given an ARC copy for an honest review so here it is. Reese is retired from the special forces. Reese is also a sexy bear shifter. When his buddy from the force Danny asks him to stop in and check on his sister Reese ain't happy but he does. Bobbi is a sexy curvy girl living in a small town just trying to stay afloat. When two of the goons who's been shaking her down come into her shop and start harassing her employee she's had it. Lucky for her Reese just happens to be in the shop looking for her and takes care of those two idiots. When Reese gets a good whiff of Bobbi he knows she's his. But she doesn't no about shifters she was adopted by Danny's parents and they never told her. To top it off the local small time cartel leader wants Bobbi for himself. Can Reese keep Bobbi safe. Can Bobbi really love all of Reese. I loved this story. It's got everything you need. Love danger hot sex. Omg so worth the read loved it.

This was a great quick shifter read! Bear shifter Reese has just retired from Special Forces and is on his way to Vegas, when his friend Danny asks him stop and check in on his little sister Bobbi. It's on his way and it's the least he can do for his brother in arms and fellow shifter. When he arrives, he finds that Bobbi is a curvy, strong, feisty woman who could still use a little help from a couple of goons who work for a guy named Conrad. They're trying to shake her down and Conrad is trying to force her into his bed. He also discovers that she's his mate which won't go over well with Danny. Oh, and by the way, Bobbi is an adopted sibling who has no knowledge of shifters. Things get interesting fast.

A great story with potential to continue

Mina Carter write funny, action filled books with smart mouthed, articulate characters and exceptional plot lines. This story does not let you down! I loved the story line and the developing love story. I can see Louise getting her own story in the future, but this one was fun to read right now. The goons were oafish and not cartoonish, which was great and helped move the plot. Definitely, I would recommend this book!.

Action, Danger and Heat!

Reese is ripped. He's everything that Bobbi ever wanted in a man. He's strong, handsome and dangerous. He's also a bear shifter, but
Bobbi doesn't know that or that her brother is a bear shifter also. When her brother, Danny asks Reese to check on Bobbi, the last thing Danny expects is that his sister is Reese's mate. When Reese finds out that Bobbi is in danger, he declares war on the men threatening her. I highly recommend this book.

As a favor to his friend from his time in the special forces, Reece agrees to check up on his buddy's sister, Bobbi Bradbury. Reece is fine with it, but is warned ahead of time that despite growing up with a bunch of werebears, Bobbi has no idea they exist. When he arrives, Reece learns that Bobbi is being harassed by a local crime boss and he's determined to protect her. He also figures out real quick that, even though she's human, Bobbi is his fated mate. So while he's taking care of the corruption in town, Reece is also courting his mate. But he still has to tell her that he's a werebear and that he's only here because Reece sent him to check up on her.

This was okay. It was short and sweet and I really enjoyed the tension and attraction between Reece and Bobbi, but it wasn't a great story. It's very insta-lovey. Bobbi and Reece, as I said, have some great chemistrybut they don't have much time to get to know each other, so the love feels super fast. Fortunately, the obstacles in place for Reece are pretty real, not to mention he was fairly bad ass. But Reece's reaction to the bear shifters didn't seem realistic (no questions? I get not being scared, but she didn't ask any questions at all...) and the suspense drama basically ended all emotional angst between the two of them, so there wasn't much resolution regarding their problems. Kinda felt like a conversation should have been had. I was really intrigued by the secondary characters and I really want to know if there's a story about Louise and Danny.
