Oliver Twist

London in the 1830s was no place to be if you were a hungry ten-year-old boy, an orphan without friends or family, with no home to go to, and only a penny in your pocket to buy a piece of bread.

But Oliver Twist finds some friends - Fagin, the Artful Dodger, and Charley Bates. They give him food and shelter, and play games with him, but it is not until some days later that Oliver finds out what kind of friends they are and what kind of 'games' they play . . .

Ah! Classic. Well, boring for me. *Especially when it was taught in school.*
I have seen the movie before reading the book. So it was like, I knew the whole story already.
The official story: Poor boy who has many difficulties in his life but eventually, his life becomes better in the end.
People who like classic stuff, well, this book is for you. I just read this because of the school-studying-thingy.

Oliver Twist was sent to a orphanage one day. The orphanage was dirty and gave kids works to do. They only ate a little bit of food every day. One they, the kids decided to have a game. The person who lose the game will ask for more foods and they will share it. Then, Oliver lost the game. At dinner, he asked the cook for more food. and he got beaten up. Later, he gets send to a family. There was a brother, mother and a father. The father was really kind to Oliver Twists while the rest was giving him dog foods and making him do nasty jobs. One day, the big brother makes fun because Oliver was an orphan

For school I've got a reading task and I had choosen the book " Oliver Twist". Now I'm about to tell you my opinion about the story.

The story started with an emotional part, it was about how Oliver lost his mother. But from that moment I knew I would like the book. It's been written very good and the sentences weren't too long. The book red very fluently because off that. Also the level off the book is six, so it is the highest level, but it wasn't hard to read or to understand.

It's also a beautifull story about how hard it was previously. It learns you more about trust
, friendship and family.

Now I've told my opinion about the book, I'll tell you the storyline quickly.
The story starts with the death of Oliver's mother, it happens short after the childbirth. At that point Oliver had no longer parents who could take care off him, so he is been sended to a "babyfarm". When he was old enough, they've sended him to the workhouse. At this point Oliver started to feel lonely because he had no friends and no one who took care off him. Oliver had gotten enough from it and decided to walk on his own all the way to London. Once he came there a boy took care off him, but Oliver didn't knew that that boy was part off a robbers gang.

They learned Oliver how to steal by showing him how they were doing it. But it went wrong and many people were thinking that Oliver was the thief. After a testimony from the owner off the shop was Oliver free again. A good old man took him in his house and Oliver could start a happy life.

But a book isn't a good book if it doesn't went wrong again. People off the robbers gang found out were Oliver was hidden and they kidnapped him again.

And what happend after this? You want to know it don't you? Sorry for that but I can't spoil such a good book, so you'll have to read it by yourself. I really can recommend you this book, because off how it's been written, the beautifull story and the different types off events in this book.

All I can say is stop reading this text and start reading the book and enjoy it!

The book is about Oliver Twist, who was raised as an orphan. He had nowhere to go. At one moment, he was taken to a workhouse. Oliver felt lonely and so the story goes on.

I thought it was a very interesting story to read because Oliver isn't raised like other kids, He is raised as an orphan by Mrs Mann. She raises a lot of orphans. Those orphans were Olivers friends, which is why he cried when he had to leave the place. He had a miserable youth and it doesn't stop. It keeps going on while he always hopes it'll get better. Soon enough, he realises it won't.

The book is written in a way that it is easy and fun to read. It took me about three hours to read in total. Which means it was also very thin. I didn't feel like it was a waste of time so that is good because I get bored of books very fast. I usually don’t read a lot of books, but I really enjoyed this one.

It’s also very nice to have some illustrations in the book to imagine what some of the characters look like. It really helps to understand what some parts of the story are about.

In the beginning of the story Olivers mother died after the childbirth. So than he had no parents anymore and send hi mto a ‘childcare’. When he was older the people of the childcare send hi mto the workhouse. At that moment Oliver doens’t feel well because he had no friends. Oliver gotten enough from being alone and walked all the way to London by his own. There was a boy who took care off him, but that boy was bad because he was part of the robbers gang.

Those guys learned Oliver how to steal things off other people by showing him how to do. But than people start thinking that Oliver stole all these things. The owner off the shop helpt him and than Oliver was free again. Oliver was taken in a house and lived a happy life.

But after that it went wrong again. The robbers found Oliver and kidnapped him.

What good is about this book is that there are pictures inside of it. That makes it a little bit easier to understand the story because it is stage 6 of reading English. Also that the book isn’t that big, what I mean is that there are only 102 pages that you have to read. So you don’t have to spend a lot of time to it.

I realy liked the story, I also have seen a musical of it when I was younger. I recommed the people to read this book because, it is a beautiful story of boy who growns up in a world with good things but also bad things. You must have read it once.

I have seen the musical and the miniseries, but reading the book was a whole new adventure. Dickens' ability to put a reader into the filthy, degenerate slums of London is pure genius. The heart wrenching horrors and the soul warming beauty of this story will continue to live on for generations.

The was about a boy whose mom died at giving birth to him, because of that had no longer parents who could take care off him. So he had been sended to a "babyfarm", where he had a couple of friends but no one who took care off him. When he was old enough he had to go along with a man why he was going to work for. The book red very fluently and wasn't hard to read. The fact that the story always had a little change in it, made a little more interesting.

I would recommanend the book to people who are still learning englisch, but can understand a big part of all the Words. You can learn how to read in english in a fun way.

The book is about an orphan, Oliver Twist, who gets mistreated from the very start. Nobody likes him in the orphanage, and when he is nine years old, he is old enough to work. At a certain point, they do not want him anymore and sell him, he runs away from that place. He walks and walks, all the way to London, where he finds people who pretend to be his friends. Those friends are not any good for him, they play games, where he has to steal. They want to make him a thief, before Oliver notices he is being turned into a thief. They fail, of course. Later on there are some people who want to take care of Oliver, and help him find out about his past.

The book is great for people who are not used to reading in English. Since the book is a classic there are very few people that will not like it. As someone who is used to reading English books, it wasn’t a big task, while for less skilled readers, it might be a problem. I do think it was a great book, although it was very short, and it didn’t give me that much reading fun, I would recommend it to slower readers. Fast readers, I advise you to take a thicker book, because it ends pretty fast.

Oliver Twist was an orphan. Her mother died after his birthday, so he brings up by Mrs. Mann, who is the owner of the baby farm. When he reached nine years old, Mr. Bumble, the beadle, come back to bring Oliver back to work in the workhouse. The living condition was worse than the bad treatment in the baby farm, where here in the workhouse, the conditions were an amalgam of malnourishment and near starvation that one of the orphans claims that he would eat the boy next to him. One day the poor orphans draw straws so that one of them could ask for more. When they were served and had eaten their gruel, Oliver went to the master and ask for more. As a result, he was banished and send out of the workhouse. The next home of Twist is the undertaker's home, where it's supposed that the pauper boy would learn the apprenticeship. Unfortunately, he meets Mrs. Sowerberrie's wife, the mistress of the house, and Noah Claypole, the charity boy. The latter taunts Oliver's mother impudently, which turns Twist wild. When Mr. Sowerberry heads the unpleasant news, he hit oliver hardly that all were satisfied. This night Oliver picked up his baggage and looked for a new life full of happiness and flourishment. Do you think he will succeed?

Charles John Huffam Dickens. An English writer and social critic in the nineteenth .known by his greatest works in the Victorian era.
Summary
the novella from its title is about the little miserable boy Oliver Twist and his life from birth in poverty and misery to a healthy life .with whom he loves and beloved
Pen Heads
.sequence of events: it was seamless clear, contain every important event that effect in future or explain the past
.characters : in this period of time in the novel there was three type of inhabitants, the richest the poor and the miserable who haven't a place to live or food to eat like our hero who lived in an unjust workhouse
Oliver Twist : he is like any other hero with the kind heart and good manners, except the misery and the beatings that occur to him
the other characters are good written, especially monks and his dark breathtaking appearance in every moment he shows up and Fagin with his foolish and funny tricks but smart and cautious
.the language was as expected easy understandable with some challenging new words
I loved the mysterious in the novel about the real identity of Oliver and how it being all connected
with a fin ending for the hero

I continue my reading of Charles Dickens. This time it’s a very kind and life-asserting novel “Oliver Twist”.

It’s a book about a 10-year-old, starved orphan Oliver without friends or family, with no home to go to.

In his novel, Dickens, one of the first in Victorian England, showed criminals who lied, cheated, stole, and lived in fear of prison or the hangman's rope around their necks; he revealed the horrors and violence that hid in the narrow, dirty streets of 1830s London.

But the story has another – and main – purpose. We see that goodness and mercy can survive through every kind of hardship. In little Oliver, in poor, miserable Nancy...

Although the book is full of wicked twists and turns of fate, goodness triumphs over evil in the end. And this is the best final.

This is it, the first novel i ever read.
The simplified version of Oliver twist. What do I say , this will always be special and irreplaceable to me.
Putting the personal bias aise, this book had every ingredient to make someone fall in love with reading. A dangerous world full of crime, a dark, gritty and mysterious story, scariest of villians and beautiful illustrations . I read the original book and re-read this afterwards and gotta say i like this one better, the way it doesn't drag at all and treats characters like Nancy better (it is the same story as the original book but sometimes less is more). In conclusion, a book that is filled with nostalgia that didn't actually get bad after re-reading.

This novel was really good. The author has made a great picture of inequality in the old London. Even though that the very first seasons weren't so addictive but as time passes by, you will become more interested in the story , Oliver's past ...
The only probem is that since this was a short story, some of the most important part weren't in the book such as how did Mr.Brownlown and his friends kidnapp Monks...
Overall it worth a try.

This book depicts 19th century London in the eyes of a poor orphan boy. Life is unfair and cruel, but Oliver grows out of humiliation and abuse, and holds on to his virtues.
The end of the novel strikes me as incoherent and strange, but the rest of the novel is quite entertaining. Although I don't think that this can be sustained over 600 pages.
