When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.

You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.

I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.

First let me say that I have read a couple of books by MQ that I have really loved and definitely suggest giving her books ago .. This is book 4 in this series and as much as needed to know what happened with these characters I struggled with finishing there was just so much going on like a TON lots of individual storylines that went around a group of friends and there was a lot I liked with this series but it was hard to fall for the characters with a chapter here and there once I got really involved with a character I had to wait forever to get back to them and personally I had a hard time with that.. this series had some major ups and downs with heartbreaking moments and tons of things I look for but because I lost the connection ( there is literally 14 + characters and individual storylines) I simply struggled to fall for this series 100%

I finished Hit and Run a while ago but needed some time to process the end of this series. This series, Hot-Lanta, is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE series! I wish that it was mandatory that everyone had to read or I wish I was rich and could buy this series for everyone. When I found out that this was going to be the final installment in our Hot-Lanta friend’s lives I was immediately anxious to see how things would end for the characters who weaved their way into my heart. As soon as the book appeared on my kindle I completely forgot about real life and returned to Hot-Lanta world.

Let me put a disclaimer out there that if you haven’t read the series yet or at least the third book (Warning Track) then either stop reading this review as I don’t want to ruin anything for you or read with cation as things may get spoiled for you. With that being said…. Hit and Run picks up right where Warning Track left off. Let’s just say the first chapter delivers a power punch to the readers- one that I did not expect but in true Meghan Quinn fashion a punch that makes sense to the story line and just reels you into the story even more.

Once you get through the first chapter the book does not lose steam at all; although a lot of loose ends are being tied up there is still plenty of drama, humor, and (perhaps most importantly) sexiness. You just can’t help but be sucked into the storyline. I loved that we were introduced to a new character as well in this final book. Honestly this character (Fallon) is a hoot! She is just a perfect addition to the clan and you can’t help but smile and nod in understanding regarding the role she plays and why she was introduced into the story.

To say I was satisfied with the ending of this book and series is HUGE understatement. I was beyond thrilled and honestly it felt like great closure. Any and all loose ties that remained throughout the series was tied up and when reading the epilogue I just couldn’t help but tear up as I felt that the ending was just absolutely perfect. Another 5 star book by Meghan Quinn for me. Thank you Meghan Quinn for giving me characters I loved and a story line that hit home and reminds us all how important friends are in your life. If you haven’t read the Hot-Lanta series you need to do it. You will be so happy you did.

Oh wow! What a ride! I held my breath until the very end on this one...the conclusion of everyone’s stories! Yikes! Talk about a page turner! Especially with Jane and Brady! There some awesome comic relief though with Connor and Austin! Laugh out loud funny! This again had all the feels with addition of Nash and Fallon who I adored. I never wanted it to end (except to know how it ended-if that makes sense?!?!)!!! I can’t recommend this series enough!

Here we are the final part of the Hot-Lanta series and I have devoured everything about this world so far. Hit and Run was a great ending to a fabulous series and one I will go back to. Book 4 begins where Warning Track ended. Within the first few chapters, tears, those darn tears are back and my jaw yet again hanging open with the plot twist that is thrown my way right at the friggin start! I mean Meghan is the queen of the boob squeeze but that was just a punch to the tit!

Jane and Brady are trying to come to terms with what they have been through, when another devastating turn of events rocks their world further. Like a nail to their coffin Jane pushes Brady away with epic proportions, Brady tries so hard to fight for her and remind her of how right they are for each other. Marc and Patty are planning their wedding and Marc makes this his mission to help heal Brady and Jane, to show them how special their love is and why they can't throw it all away.
I really loved how Meghan wrote Jane and Brady's story in the novel it felt so real and so relatable, it was a powerful read for me and I was so hoping they would figure it out. Seeing how the characters cope or don't cope with what they have been through and how this changes them was a thoroughly engaging storyline.

Austin, Connor, Lucy and the baby, well this is just one messed up situation with epic proportions with a huge twist and an unusual storyline that you think is never going to work. However it truly does surprise you. Another new character joins the party in Fallon and she makes a great addition to the group, bringing that little bit of relief amongst all the heavy shit going on.

I can't really say much more without going into detail; but this book just like the other 3 packs one hell of a punch. As it is the conclusion to the series, Meghan of course brings it all to a brilliant close with a great epilogue and I am truly satisfied with the Hot-Lanta series as a whole. I would recommend it if you love sports romance, scorching hot chemistry with sex scenes to match and a hell of a lot of drama and emotional turmoil. Fantastic writing by Megan Quinn, loved it!

I’ve reached the end of the series and I can’t really say that I’m sorry. I think I would have gotten a lot more enjoyment out of the stories and characters had they been separated out into interconnected duets or standalones, rather than having so many characters, with so much drama, all taking up real estate within the book.

Thankfully the editing was a lot better than book three (though the continued misspelling of fiancée for a woman grated on me) so it was a bit more enjoyable. The ending felt kind of rushed given how, four books in, I was pretty invested in the characters. Some of the characters felt like they deserved “more”.

It’s easy to see that Quinn has grown as a writer over the years. And while I didn’t dislike this series, it certainly wasn’t my favorite.

In this instalment Jane needed a lobotomy...unrecognisable in her grief and self-pity. The old adage of misery liking company is especially true in her case. Brady coped the only way possible considering she distanced herself and irrationally files for divorce.

Life is riddled with disappointment, for women it can be endometriosis, infertility, cancer, the list is endless. Having the ability to reproduce should not be defining.

Brady, clearly demonstrated his commitment yet Jane continued on her path of self-imposed self-pity until her life unravels most importantly her relationships.

Recap:::
Their lives involved Jane being attacked by the loser ex-boyfriend, Laney’s attempt to seduce Brady since he stupidly withheld sharing her texts and provocative photos making him look guilty, with the onlooking Paparazzi documenting the unfolding drama, Jane’s car accident, Jane’s refusal to see Brady. Luke is presumed dead for two years, Molly falls into a depression whilst pregnant and becomes suicidal, reliant on drugs, sex and alcohol. Luke resurrects from the dead with a bonus of PTSD. Luke makes bad decisions and then places Molly’s life at risk. Jane and Brady lose their baby, she files for divorce because she’s irrational, Lucy expires giving birth and ‘Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumber’ both rivals for her affection are raising the baby.

Must read the whole series

The author does a decent job of filling you in if you haven't read the who!e series, but honestly, you would!d not fully appreciate the story of be invested in the characters if you haven't read the first three books first. Just a warning. Not everyone gets a happy ending. There are a ton of characters, but through all four books you get to know each and every one. I do have to say, Parker and Margot had very little mention in this book, but apparently they're weaved into another series. I enjoyed the multiple couples and the multiple points of view. It was unusual to anything else I've read but it was easy to get into

*review for the whole hot-lanta series*

Pros: multiple characters’ viewpoints, created a broad and emotional storyline; strong and unexpected plot twists (some that made me bawl like a baby!); characters that seem to suffer from real human flaws! I appreciated that the characters weren’t perfect all the time, it made it seem more realistic.
Cons: third-person narrative, not a fan personally, it takes away from the close and personal connection that is important in a romance storyline; grammatical errors...some were fairly obvious.
Overall, the story was engaging and fun to read and I look forward to more Meghan Quinn books in the near future!

Too many feelings about this series. Jane- I hate when characters keep secrets unnecessarily. Molly- still a bitch. A slight redemption with Luck but no she is most hated character in the series. Lucy- why the hell did she get killed off?! Too sad. Austin had a redemption not in my favorite characters but better than before. Conner I wish had moved on by the epilogue. Brady and Luke. My favorites. Wish Michael and alby had some sort of HEA. Patty was 100% right in her feelings. Annoyed everyone was against her. Marc is a good friend though. Nash and gallons story was so odd. Cute in the end but so odd.

This series wrecked me and brought me back

OMG is all I can really say!!! I was intrigued from the beginning. I have read many other Meghan Quinn books but this was the first time I read a series like this. It flowed as if you were watching a soap opera, sometimes it could get annoying when you wanted to finish one of the characters stories but it also kept you so invested I couldn’t put the books down, especially when the I was up to the parts that wrecked me (I cried like a baby). I am so happy I came across this series I absolutely loved it!!

Best book series ever!

I read all four books in less than three days. I was on a total roller coaster and invested in every character! This series had me laughing, crying and waiting on bated breath for the stories to be told. The stories were incredible and touched on so many issues. It was wonderfully written and had me totally hooked from page 1, book 1 to the very end of book 4! Love, love, love!!!!

Perfect ending

Throughout this entire series my heart and emotions were all over the place. While reading books with HEA is always fun, sometimes its important to read a book with some realistic situations. I just love Meghan Quinn, who continues to out a smile on my face with her writing.

The way this series was written was amazing. I love how one book didn't just focus on one person / story! I love how it covered them all and just kept continuing. I'm glad I didn't discover them until it was complete so I could soar through this over the weekend. Yes, 4 books in a weekend.

LOVED IT!

Heartbreaking but Joyful

Every series I read from Mrs. Quinn seems to be better than the last even though I think that one is the best the minute I finish!! This series is heartbreaking, tear worthy yet joyful and funny. I Love everything she writes and can’t wait to start the next.

Best series ever!

I loved following all of the characters through the stories with the very realistic life events that happened to them. I especially identified with Jane when she lost the baby as my daughter in law lost their baby at 7 months and she also blamed herself. Excellent author.

Emotional overload!

Wow I have never laughed so much and cried so much in a book series. I just have to say the bitchiness of Molly and the things she did. I really hated her at that time. But at least she became herself again. I really hated losing Lucy in this series also. That blew me away. This series is fantastic!

This was a nice ending to the Hot-Lanta series.

Let me just say, right off the bat, this book dropped huge bombshell. I really wasn’t expecting it. I also feel like the characters didn’t really work through their problemas; they kind of just talked a little after constant fighting and then made up.

Overall, I’m glad I read this series!

Hate the whole series

If something bad can happen it will. Jumble all of the couple's together. Yuck. Molly is nothing but trouble. She's not a good example for who gets her dreams to come true. This was the first and last of this author I'll read. Sorry I wasted my time reading.

what a rollercoaster!

Between all four books the lows felt greater than the highs. I was at 89% in this last book & was tempted to change my rating on all the books to lower, but the ending was satisfying enough to keep 4 ⭐️’s
I was actually expecting an unsatisfying ending after the way the book started & based on other people’s ratings.

Actual 3.5 - As my good friend Albert so eloquently put it, “…to no more freaking drama!” CHEERS! 🍻 It was a good ending to the series. Some parts felt longer than they needed to be, but drama keeps the story going 🫠 I fully supported Albert verbally bitch slapping all the dumb-asses throughout the book but I really wish his last chapter ass whooping came sooner 😬 On to the next series!

So good!

I wanted to get to the end of the series before I wrote a review. I can't lie sometimes it was hard to keep up, being inside so many characters heads, but I really liked the way the series played out!! This series made me laugh, and made me cry. It was perfection!

A good finish

Good finish with a pre use wrap up, thanks to Alby. It was the right time to end it and say goodbye to drama. This is a fun little series to spend some time with to help take away the bore of everyday life or as a diversion while on vacation.

What a series... Hot, Hot, Hot

So many steamy scenes.
I have such a love-hate relationship with this series. The highs, the lows and finally the HEA we all crave. The characters and the issues addressed were deep and real. Thank you Meghan!!

To happy endings hopefully

These couples are all inspiring. I love their spirit and how they grow and support each other. Their friendships are beautiful too. Fallon is a treat too with her uniqueness. I just love Brady and Marc.

Drama

I love the cast of people in the books. The only part I didn't care for was everyone dying. The baby shouldn't have died or Lucy. I know you need twists to a plot, I just want everyone happy, and me not crying.
