This is a paranormal romance short read. This is the second book in the Paranormal Hunter series. I recommend this book for adults only. This book could be read as a stand alone, but I advise you to read the first book, to understand more of the story. I was thrilled with this book being released I needed some answers, but Gena Lutz always keeps her readers on the edge of their seats, so I was left needing yet another book. Sonnet is such a adapting person, she never allows anything to hold her down or back. She also is very kind hearted, she takes into consideration every detail before she takes action. She was given some more than shocking news and I was flabbergasted, her on the other hand took it in stride.... ok you will have to read the book. It is a great book, even though I still need more answers! agh... next book, please.

Sonnet Vale is a skilled hunter, her looks are deceiving. Men doubt her ability only to have their heads rolling literally. Vale as some of her co workers call her, has connections to help with responsibilities after a hunt. And the friend who hasn't been doing his job, well he comes to her in a questionable state. Sonnet takes control of the situation and is in search for answers. Luckily she has Bane to help and mostly just support her, she needs to get answers as soon as possible. What Sonnet did not know was she was fixing to be handed some incredible news, life changing in fact.

favorite passages:
"But she already knew the answer to that: because real life like to stick her nosy way into things and mess everything up."
"But not in a kill-the-bad-boogies sort of way."
"Even though his build was imposing, he seemed more like a confused virgin in bed with a porn star than a dangerous killer."
"Her vampire lover who fit as perfectly in her arms as he did in her life; an exquisite creature of the night with long caramel-brown hair, and light blue eyes that reminder her of rare shimmering jewels."
"Anya's tail wound between them, twisting like a snake."
"Dozen of Gothic sconces in the shape of dragons lit up the lobby, casting a soft amber glow over the red walls and marbled floors."
"And then there was the old adage that stated so aptly, "You can choose your friends and lovers, but you can't choose your family."

Once again in Gena D Lutz books. I'm pulled in by her lure of action and twist. I could not wait to start this book because Sonnet Vale was one of my favorites. I started with that book and now I'll read anything that women creates in that talented mind of hers.

Phantom City lures you in, intrigues you, turns your world upside down. Just when you think you have it figured out it changes on you. I was so happy to see a dealer glimpse within this paranormal city. It's forbidding, dangerous, yet desirable and luscious.

Sonnet shows you a little more of her bad ass self but draws you into her net of people she realizes she's connected too. There are secrets she doesn't even know yet. She came there to start on a vacation and ends up a ride for her life.

This book pulls you in and leaves you on the edge of the seat then at the end what's you with one hell of a cliffhanger making you scramble to grab the next book. It's words flow effortlessly off the page as does any if Gena's books. They'll keep you up for hours soaking in every word like a sponge. Be prepared for a huge book hangover. You'll want to start into the next book right away because this cliffhanger leaves you biting your nails. Way to go Gena! That was one hell of a ride!

Phantom City is Dark, forbidding, and mind blowing. Be prepared for a ride! ~ Nook Books and More Blog

My OPINION of phantom city

Excellent second installment. Sonnet now has brothers, discovered she is half demon and she met her demon father AND was accidentally trapped in demon hell. All of that happened in the last couple chapters. Wow...
The first part of the book was good but a little boring for me, the second half though...amazing. of course that's where it all ended so we have a short book with a cliffhanger but still well-written.
Hopefully the release of the third installment will be soon!

So good!

Sonnet is back and sassier than ever! She is still going strong with Bane and they take a little trip back to the other world but its not all romance. Sonnet has to find a drug dealer, stop him and deal with familial revelations. The ending was a huge cliff hanger!!! We need more!

I love this book. I was crazy about book 1 also. I received a copy of the book for my honest review.

When Altered Drugs start showing up in town Sonnet must find out who is supplying them. Where they are coming from and why it's happening. Can she stop them before it's too late?

I really enjoyed this second book in this series, but would recommend that you read the first one to get the full background on Sonnet Vale and her story so far. Saying that though, there is enough info dumping to read this as a stand-alone book, without over doing it.

Sonnet Vale is a paranormal hunter, often called in by the police to deal with situations involved the paranormal world and their creatures, which most of the humans know nothing about. On finding one of her work colleagues in a highly drugged out state and then simultaneously called to a case where the "victim" is in the same situation, she knows she has to find out where these new drugs are coming from and her answers can only be found in one place - Phantom City!

Sonnet and her vampire boyfriend, Bane, are heading there anyway for a romantic getaway, so she uses the time there to her advantage, asking after the drug dealer and eventually finding him, or really him finding her! She gets few unexpected revelations whilst in Phantom City, none of which I expected, but Sonnet takes everything in her stride!

A fun, short read (although there were a few silly typos, such as where instead of were - I'm a bit of a grammar fiend!), but this one finished on a huge cliffhanger, so I'd better go and get the next book in this series soon!

This is book #2 in the Paranormal Hunter series. Sonnet has the Fang Squad Inc. and is a hunter of paranormals. Even so, she has a Vampire boyfriend-Bane who absolutely adores her. She does some work for the police since they know she can solve those kinds of cases.

She and Bane were going to the Phantom City for a vacation, but she's asked to take on a case. It has to do with a very potent drug called Vampire Venom (VV). Sonnet is sure that it is coming from the Phantom City, so instead of a vacation, it'll be working the case. Sonnet and Bane take off and she has her trusty silver tipped stake with her which also has mystical powers. It was a gift from Bane to help keep her safe. Now the hunt is on to find who is bringing the VV into her city. Of course, nothing is ever easy!

This book has it all - action, adventure, suspense, twists & turns, a few surprises and hot romance, which makes for a fast paced exciting read. I just love this series and of course our love birds, Sonnet & Bane! Even though this can be a stand alone book, I'd advise you to start with book #1.
I highly recommend this book and series! I'm anxiously awaiting the next one!

Sonnet Vale’s back in the second installment of the Paranormal Hunter Series and she’s still just as kick a**. She’s having to deal with something new to the area. People, including her friend Ryker, are becoming addicted to Vampire Venom. Now it’s up to Sonnet to figure out who’s behind it and to stop it as soon as possible. Knowing that this isn’t something that can be brewed up in her hometown, Sonnet and her boyfriend Bane head into the paranormal world of Phantom City. While there, she uncovers some shocking information about her and her family. If you are a fan of demons, vampires, hunters, great writing, an imaginative story line, and awesome characters, I definitely recommend Phantom City and all of Gena D. Lutz’s books. Ms. Lutz writes some of the best paranormal books that I’ve come across in a while. Definitely one click worthy.

Sonnet Vale is at it again, she just can't seem to stop working. She's supposed to be on a vacation with her hot vampire boyfriend, but instead she's working a case. Sonnet gets more than she bargained for though and it makes her wonder if she can handle the new information. No spoilers here, grab your copy today and see what's going on! Great read! I highly recommend this series

I'm ready fr the next book

To me the book started out kind of slow but by about half way I was really enjoying it. This is a novella so don't let that stop you from reading this. The ending is a cliffhanger but nothing to terrible.

Better than the first book in the series. Plot is a bit more entertaining & the author is attempting to add an interesting back story. It's got potential will read book 3 it's free Kindle Unlimited & makes ok in between reading (6/7/16 demon touched book 3)!

Ending with a cliff hanger in order to set up the next book in the series is one thing but abruptly ending half-way through the current storyline is most annoying. Don't waste your money.

Cliffhanger!!!

OMG!! Can you say cliffhanger?! I finished this one again in the wee hours of the morning and if I could have still seen straight to keep reading I would have kept reading into the next book to find out what happens next! All I can say is this book has some serious plot twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
