Rashard Peterson is an all around perfect catch. For any woman that can tame him that is. He’s the quarterback for UMA and he’s both family and goal oriented. Rashard can have any woman he wants and makes sure to get a taste of each one. With the perfect package, it's hard for Rashard to duck and dodge them because they always come back for more. His only problem is he’s living 2 different lives. Tamia Anderson isn’t your average girl. She’s every girl’s role model letting nothing and no one stop her from achieving her goals. Tamia vowed to never give another man her heart after her first love, Amere broke it causing her to flee her home town with her best friend after killing a man. Her only problem is she’s fallen under Rashard’s radar and what Rashard Peterson wants, Rashard Peterson gets. Armani Wright is every man’s dream including her mom’s boyfriend, Steve who took it upon himself to test the goods. After being raped night after night and with no help from her mom, she turned to the only friend she had left in the world, Tamia. Tamia concocted a plan to get rid of Steve altogether and once they eliminated him. that fled to the streets of Detroit leaving the coast a distant memory. Now Armani uses her body to get any and everything she wants. With sponsors galore, Armani has to figure out if her body is a blessing or a curse. Michelle Melton is your average girl based on appearances. She is the definition of Plain Jane. Michelle is in love with a man she’ll never have completely. She’s tried everything she could think of to keep him with the help of her cousin Tiffany. Michelle knows she and Ray are meant to be together and nothing will stop her. At least that’s what she thought until a fatal accident sends her to the hospital. Will Rashard be able to maintain living 2 different lives while juggling multiple women as he zooms in on his new target? Will Tamia accomplish what she’s set out to do or will Rashard come in and destroy another life? Will Armani slow her role or continue to use her body to get ahead possibly costing her, her life? Will Michelle’s love for Ray overcome all or is this fatal accident too much to come back from?
It was okay. I loved Tamia. I thought her and Rashard were good together. Candy was okay. Hopefully Armani survives, if she does, she needs to leave other women's men/husbands alone. She should change her life for the better. The ending was interesting. My only complaint is that the editing could have been a little better ( I saw a few misspelled/misplaced words and grammatical errors. It took away from the story). Overall good read. I'm sorry that I could only give it four stars instead of five. This is my second read by Linette King. I loved the first book (She Used To Be The Sweetest Girl). It was so good.
This was not my favorite book by the author. The characters were somewhat interesting and the plot idea was a good one. However, the potential of the story was overshadowed by repetitive dialogue, poor execution, extreme colorism, poor narration, and overall execution. I like this author's pension for high drama. I will continue on to the next book.
Interesting story. I felt Rashad's arrogant nature was over the top & a turn-off...Despite this, he had no trouble finding more females...Good characters
This was just o.j.. it kept my interest. I hated the way the author went back and forth between the characters repeating the same thing. There were far too many characters to keep up with in this book. My major issue was the language, it was overly vulgar with the use of course words. But the real issue was the berating of skin color. I was very taken aback. It's sad because I read the reviews to c if people would have an issue with what was said and no one did. It tells me how relaxed we have become as a people with degrading each other skin color. We get it enough from other races so to c people so lax about it bothered me. The fact he kept talking about dark skinned girls attitudes and the issues he had with them. Then the light skinned thing. We have to stop doing that to one another. I was very disappointed in the author for playing on this.
This has to be the strangest audio book I have ever read. I don't even know what point of the story is other than to make black people look appalling. Not only do the men put the women down but the women themselves are just as bad if not worse. "Rashard Peterson is an all around perfect catch." Linette King are you serious? Obviously being from another country I am missing something in this book. There is no way most women would ever even consider dating Rashard or any of the others. The women seem to think all they need to do in life is do hair, clean house and fuck who ever wants it.
This was an addicting read. I was hooked from the beginning. Rashard is the true definition of trifling. He wanted to have his cake and eat it too. I won't say too much, because I don't want to give away the story, but I highly recommend reading this story. Will Rashard get what he deserves? Hmmm. You have to read it to find out.
This series def wasnt the best? the toxicity mindset around black women when this was wrote by a black woman doesnt sit right with me, and the 7 books for the MMC to be unloyal the entireeeeee time? and The Fmc just let it go because “he knows who he comes to” Bye. *Same review for whole series*
This book captivates the reader's attention from the very beginning. Awesome read would recommend this book for any person to read.. Awesome job Linette King.
It was ok. There was something amateur like with the writing style. The ratchetness is real. There's something crazy about Armani. She's gonna snap and I think Tamia better watch her back
Disappointed I just couldn't get into this book I kept falling asleep I kept losing interest in it very very disappointed hopefully book 2 will be better
I know its a second part. I just know there is and this is not how the story ends. I love a cliffhanger but now I'm bout to pop this DA!n rope because I need more.
I'm a huge review reader before I purchase most books but for this one, I read the reviews about halfway through...and for me, I really enjoyed this book. Yes it had vulgar names geared towards women (as some stated in their review), but unfortunately, this is the world we live in and how men AND females talk amongst each other as well as to others. It doesn't mean the female considers herself a b****. The only thing I agree with as far as how the book was written, is the fact of each character was given their point of view which made the dialogue repetitive. I'm not sure if it was done as fillers or because the author just truly wanted us to see there's more sides to a story. The positive thing I saw in the way each character had their own say, is it gave a better understanding of that characters TRUE thoughts....for example, finding out how much Armanie despised Tamia but Tamia truly valued her as a friend!
This was slow going but got good near the end. It had some funny lines too. I was trying to figure out where this was going. Lol. I still don't know. But there's something here that makes me want to see what's going to happen. I mean if I had a friend like Armani, I would just cut her off but I'd like to see what's going on with Tamia and Rashard. He's too funny. This could get good so I'll wait and see. My issue with the story is that there are so many characters. It's hard to remember them all.
This was a really good book. I couldn't believe it was a free book. I really like Tania and I hope she and Rashard stay together because I think they would make a dope couple. Not to sound all harsh but Armani was a total bitch and she deserve because Tamia been nothing but a good friend to her and she gonna pay possibly with her life, oh well too bad, I don't feel sorry for her one bit. And I thought Armani mom boyfriend Steve was dead, I guess they didn't kill him after all. I can't wait to read book 2.
Can't wait for part 2! This is my first read by this author & I was hooked from the beginning. Armani is just trifling all the way around. I love Tamia's character. Amere can kick rocks with open toe shoes on. It took me a minute but I finally came around for Rashards character. His arrogance was off the charts plus he was being your typical jack ass when it can to the women.
Love love love these books... but why you have to keep ending them so, so... what's the word? Well, with so much curiosity that I HAVE no choice but to buy the next one and the next one and the next one... it never stops
