Laura has chosen to fill the shoes of the dearly departed Logan. She is the All-New Wolverine. She's currently working to fight off an assassin with aerial assistance from Angel.
description

Why oh why did I wait to read The All-New Wolverine? I mean I already thought Laura was awesome from her origin until now. Perhaps some of the misses swayed me or maybe it felt weird seeing her in Wolvie's colors. Whatever the reason, I was being a fool. I've read an least one issue of three of the other four X titles and this one is much better than the others. Laura is an extremely complex character who has lived a long life since she was raised from birth to be a weapon. She's kind of like Pinocchio because since her inception she has slowly become a real girl...as much of a real girl as she can be considering she has adamantium claws and a healing factor that just won't let her die. I also appreciated the use of humor in what would otherwise have been a serious and bloody issue.
description

One thing bothered me, but it has nothing to do with Laura. It has to do with the Black Vortex, the super mirror that made anyone who accepted it's power in a cosmic powerhouse. My issue is Angel looked in the mirror and was transformed, but unlike Cyclops, Iceman, and Beast he didn't give the powers back. So my concern is why is he now just a bright winged version of his prior self instead of being far more powerful than practically everyone on Earth? It will bug me if he, Kitty Pryde, and Gamora have still have the makeovers without the power.

All-New Wolverine is a must for any fan of Laura Kinney formerly known as X-23. If anyone wasn't a fan before, now is the time to jump on the bandwagon.

If you haven't watched the movie Logan yet, look away!

The character we follow in this All New Wolverine issue is Laura. We get to see her as she steps up to be the new Wolverine, while still being mentored by our Logan (who is now gone).

In this first issue, we see that Laura has doubts about who she is and what she is doing. She feels like a monster and just a killing machine. When she gets knocked out, she apparently gets some sense knocked back into her.

We get to see Laura in action and also I had to laugh at a couple of scenes between her and Angel. We know that Laura wants some affection from him, but is not down with the whole embracing/hug thing. It appears that Angel has some feelings for her and him freaking out when he thinks she is in danger was really well done. But apparently Angel doesn't get how good our girl is when her back is against the wall.

We get to see some other Marvel characters in this one. It does appear though at the end that we have Laura having to track down someone who apparently has made clones of her who are without feeling.

The art for this one is really well done! I am so happy that I could see the writing and the colors really popped. I love the Jessica Jones series, but the water color affect and the colors they choose make them seem drab compared to this issue.

I did get this issue for free due to buying a ticket to Logan on Fandago. I am going to call crap though since they promised a free comic bundle and guess what Fandago? One issue is not a bundle! At least it had me go into my comiXology account and realize how many comics I have to finish (eep!)

After watching Hugh jackman and James Mangold's Logan, this reader got a hankering for some X-23 comics. The All-New Wolverine monthly series seemed like a great place to start and after reading the first six issues, this reader was satisfied with this Laura-centric comic book.

The series picks up from both Secret Wars and Death of Wolverine. There's a new Earth with a new timeline and a new Wolverine; it's Laura, or X-23, taking on Logan's mantle and legacy.

The setting for the first issue is Paris and Wolverine just foiled an assasination attempt by taking a head shot intended for the target. While healing her brain, Laura had a hallucination/flashback that was Logan's only appearance in a book formerly his own. After recovering, there's a chase up the Eiffel tower and Laura finds that the shooter has her face.

A great first issue, it is neither boring or static and moves forward the over-arching plot, while giving the reader a nice cliffhanger to come back for the second issue.

I'm a fan of X-23, so I decided to give this one a try. Other than that, the choice was somewhat random, as are most of my "big two" choices, especially in light of the multitude of post-Secret Wars titles.

I was pleasantly surprised. I like Laura's snarky-but-not-too-angsty personality, though it could become too stereotypical if she doesn't become more developed in later issues. Also, this isn't a bad thing, but this title seems oriented towards younger female readers (tween and teens). I also think that it was an fantastic choice to make the first story arc about .

I like the art, which has softer lines for characters combined with sharper one for the backgrounds. The fight scenes convey movement and are drawn at interesting angles.

Laura is amazing!!! I love her, she's awesome, this issue was cool. Warren and Laura are a little bit too awkward but cute at the same time. They are a cool team.

I finally could read Issue #1, now, i'm going to read the next one, i'm too excited and I want to read more about Laura.

Pretty freakin' cool.

I have to admit that I didn't know how I would feel about a new Wolverine. I don't know much about X-23, so I really didn't have an opinion on her. I was just so used to the grumpy Old Canucklehead that I didn't really think anyone else could fill his shoes. And I was right.

X-23, now the new Wolverine, doesn't need to fill Logan's shoes. Because she's got her own. She's blazing her own trail. I like her attitude and spunk. I think I'd enjoy her series. We'll see.

Also, do I spot a potential Wolverine/Angel romance in the cards? Hmmm.....

Really funny and sweet new start for X-23 after she has conquered her scent trigger. Introduction of Gabby is a huge heart warmer and the neat interaction between the sisters make a really fun first volume.

Didn't finish it. Just a really boring, paint by numbers storytelling and stilted "tough guy" dialogue that didn't get me in, which is a shame because I was curious about X-23 as a standalone.

After the death of Logan last year there was certainly quite a bit of debate over who would take up the cowl. Well, a successor has emerged, and it's one that didn't surprise anyone: Logan's clone/daughter Laura Kinney puts on the cowl in All-New Wolverine #1, and Taylor hits the ground running.

Probably the biggest fear fans had was that Taylor would forget everything that made Laura unique from Logan, and not only does Taylor reassure us that won't be the case right in the very first issue, there's a great flashback scene between Logan and Laura where he even addresses it directly. It's a wonderful little moment made even better by Lopez's artwork, who includes a neat little touch of Laura and Logan having many of the same facial ticks.

Taylor does an excellent job picking up on Laura's continuing development and evolution, and she's written better here than she has been in a LONG time (I'm looking at you especially, Bendis). He even manages to make her relationship with the time-displaced teenaged Angel enjoyable, with an adorably awkward moment that also helps demonstrate just how far she's come since her debut a decade ago.

If there's a weakness, it's that we don't get much context of what led up to this moment, but this can be forgiven both by the promise of more information to unfold in future issues. It also helps keep the action and story is nice and tight, which AGAIN comes as a welcome relief from Bendis's wheel-spinning dragging out plots interminably. The script and art keep the fights dynamic and fluid, and Lopez does a superb job depicting Laura's athleticism. The twist at the end may not catch the genre-savvy readers by surprise, but still puts a nice wrinkle in the story, while also serving as a nice callback to her origins.

All-New Wolverine hits the ground running. Ignore the haters: the Wolverine is back, and Laura is perfectly-suited to wearing the cowl.

Paris, France. An assassination attempt is thwarted by a stranger. When that stranger gets up after a bullet in the head, she's revealed to be the new Wolverine, Laura Kinney, clone of Logan. She heads to the Eiffel Tower to take out the sniper, but much more awaits...

This issue is action-packed and beautifully illustrated, with just enough wry snark to place it perfectly in the Wolverine narrative. This is one to watch.

There's been a lot I've missed since Laura's solo series because I didn't follow her appearances in other series. Although I am out of the loop it's nice to read about this character again. I was happy to see that she's apparently in a good place, sticking to her morals and protecting people. Looking forward to what this series brings.

Oh wow. I haven't been impressed with the comics I've read lately, but this is exceptional! The writing is great, grabbing your interest and attention as soon as it starts, and the art (though I'm not keen on some of the faces) is quite good overall. There's action, intrigue, romance, and humour. I highly recommend it.

I like this re-imagining of X-23, she's got wolverine's energy with more wit / humor. Her banter with Angel is a highlight. Lopez, Navarrot, and Fairbairn do a solid job on the art as well. As with other recent Marvel heroines, Laura has a realistic physique, which I applaud as a step in the right direction for the genre. My daughter enjoyed this comic as well.

I love(d) Wolverine, so its only natural that I wanted to read the All New Wolverine.

I think it is going to be great seeing her in action. This first comic set up the story pretty well, along with a flash back to her time with Logan. I hope to see more of those!

So, off to a good start!

Great story! I love the way Lauren is written and drawn! She looks so powerful and is never sexualised if she isn't trying to be sexy, which is so refreshing after the last X-23 story I read. Also her relationship/dating life is great.
