THREE MATTHEWS STARS.
"It started on a plane ...
BJ Harvey is an expert at many things concerning romance but today I crown her the cliffhanger queen. 'Touch' is part one of a new series that Harvey has created and if nothing else I'm left hanging for more of this story. Erotica, intrigue and a need for more is what was provided in this less than a hundred pages and this author certainly made sure I was struck with a case of 'need to know what happens next'.
Why not five?
It's very rare that I am able to give such a short book a high rating, in fact there are only a handful of novella type serial books that have reached high star ratings from myself. And my reason for that is simply because I need more time for a story to develop and grab my love. This part one certainly took my attention and made me excited for what was to come but sadly I wasn't able to garner enough enthusiasm to rate it higher. With that all being said I'll always be on the lookout for more from BJ Harvey and I'm excited to read more.
Final thoughts ...
Erotic, curiously sexy and outright intriguing BJ Harvs has set the stage for her serial romance series very well. Those who love these kind of series will no doubt love the edge that this author precariously leaves her readers on and I can't deny that I'll be first in the queue waiting for the next book. Aylssa is heading to Las Vegas to surprise her mother but before she lands in sin city, she meets a mysterious and sexy stranger in first class. Barrett Matthews. A little anonymous flirting at 35,000 feet leads to some sexually charged scenes as Aylssa is tracked down by Barrett once they land.
Touch is the first installment of the Soverign Series that features the story of Alyssa, Barrett and .... (well you’ll find that out for yourself).
I think what I loved the most about this story was that it was all tension and building up the chemistry of these two. Not a lot of time passes from the start of this story till the end so I loved that the relationship between these two wasn’t forced at a high speed. Especially given the bit of drama that gets in infused into the story.
I’ve read all of BJ’s books and I think beyond the books themselves, what I really love is the experience of seeing how her writing has changed over each book. Serials are also not the easiest format to write. Less pages does not mean less work. The entire process of the story changes – I loved that she did this (even if she was worried about it, #Paybacks), I found myself dying to know what was going to happen next. Trying to figure out just how all of this will play out – who to trust, what will happen next! So much was set up in this first book that stayed in the background until the very end and once you were finished and thinking about all the possibilities, it just makes you want to go back through and comb for clues – because you know they are there!
This installment gets 4.5 stars (rounding up) and I am excited to get all the pieces of the rest of this story. But I’m gonna just place my bet on Bennett now.

4.5 stars!! What a start to this new serial from BJ Harvey. This one left me chomping at the bit desperately wanting more, at least there is not long between instalments!!
Alyssa is on a plane when a gorgeous stranger calls her from a few rows back...flirting ensues...promises made...to meet up when they disembark.
There is a date and there is some smoking hot chemistry but Barrett is very hesitant in giving anything away, his is the master of distraction a trait not gone unnoticed...what is he hiding?
Cannot wait for book 2, I NEED TO KNOW MORE!!

Touch is the first installment in BJ Harvey's new 3 part serial. This was an amazing start!! Touch is a quick and steamy novella, that should only take about an hours time to read but it is packed with so much!!!
This is the interesting start to Alyssa Jacobs and Barrett Matthews journey. We don't get to know much about these two characters in this installment, but what we do find out has me very intrigued.
Alyssa is on her way to Vegas to see her mom, when she is enticed by a delicious stranger on the plane…Mr. Matthews. What starts as an intriguing game on the plane, turns into a romantic rooftop dinner. Barrett Matthews is a mysterious guy and we don't find out why, yet. Although something is hinted at towards the end, but of course we are left hanging!!!
I need to stop talking now or I'll give things away. Just now I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next installment.
So as you can tell this book does end in a cliffhanger and if you aren't a fan of them, I would suggest waiting for the next installment to be released in January. But let it be known, whether you wait or not, this is a series that shouldn't be missed. If you are a huge fan of Ms. Harvey's or a new to her reader, pick up Touch….you won't be sorry!!!!

I really liked the start of this series. The connection to the two characters was right on, it made you want more! Alyssa seems like a strong person, and knows what she wants. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. What is Mr. Matthews after??!! Did his job lead him to really start liking her?

I'm not one who loves books filled to the brim with sex, but by the end of chapter one in Touch, I was desperate for the two main characters to bang. Talk about sexual chemistry (frustration? I don't even know which is the right word to use here!)
Touch was a super quick read, just around 50 pages as it's part one of a three part serial (all are now available!) and it ends on quite the cliffy. I'm about to dive in to book two, Taste, because I need to see how it plays out after that ending!!

Be warned this is not a full-length novel, it is shot, and only part 1 of the whole story. I wish it was a full-length novel instead of these little parts separate to draw the whole thing out. However the writing is decent, the storyline was entertaining, and there were minimal editing issues.

What an absolutely fantastic start to the Sovereign trilogy. BJ Harvey gets the juices flowing in this sexy tale of a presumed accidental meeting on an airplane which quickly escalates to something more. Much more. But will Alyssa Jacobs be able to resist a very determined Barrett Matthews, now that she knows his intentions are less than honorable? Did she imagine the electricity that was palpable between them? All I can say is the author left us with quite the cliffhanger and I need more...like yesterday!!

Touch is the first novella in the Sovereign trilogy and this enticing quick read was a good opening to set the scene of what promises to be an amazing series.
Flirty looks and a raunchy telephone call in first class on a plane to Vegas is where it all starts for Alyssa Jacobs and Barrett Matthews. On her way to witness her mother being proposed to, Alyssa is restless but then she makes eye contact with the gorgeous man as he brushes past her on the plane. The two set up a date in a hotel and it is there that things start to heat up.
I’m not really a fan of staggered storylines whereby the story is split into episodes and released separately, however this one got my attention and kept me invested. The sexual chemistry and tension was building up nicely but then a curveball gets thrown in at the end that alters the course of what is yet to come. I am liking the bit of mystery and suspense added to the mix. Also it is not too long to wait for the next two books and all will be released within two months. I also liked the little snippet the author added of the next book. Yes this is sounding my cup of tea and Barrett is hot!

I'm a huge fan of mini-series so I was excited when I read the blurb. Touch does not fail to deliver. I love how it innocently, not so innocently begins on a plane. The heat was on from the very beginning. You can feel the electricity in the air between the two main characters.

I can't say enough, other than you need to read this book. Barrett is seductive, naughty, mysterious and sexy. He will keep you turning the pages, wanting more. If I had to choose one word to sum up what this story is all about it would be 'anticipation.' There is just something about delayed gratification that makes the actual thing/event so much better than you anticipated, purely because the build up is so intense.
Intense is a great word to describe Barrett Matthews. Alyssa has a flirtatious encounter with him on a flight to Las Vegas. The attraction she feels towards him is insane. The heated looks and words he uses are so sexy they caress her skin and just about melt her knickers off.

She thought she would never see him again, yet he seems to have found her and has all of her senses on high alert. Where did this man come from and is he too good to be true? Questions that can only be answered by 1-clicking and reading this book!

What an absolutely wicked start for B.J. Harvey's new "Sovereign" trilogy. Once I started reading, I was sucked into the story.... what a story B.J. has for us, even if it is the first installment in the trilogy. I will say that I wasn't sure I'd get enough detail out of the 5 chapters in this book, but B.J. has filled it to the brim, with details, steamy characters & a storyline that kept me riveted. Then I was finished, ummm where did the rest of the story go?? I kept trying to make the next page show on my ereader, but I was unsuccesful, I NEEDED to know what happened next, especially with the cliffhanger we are left with.
I really don't want to give away anything with the story line, I can just say read it, especially if you're wanting something hot & short. I can't wait to read the rest of the "Sovereign" trilogy.

A brief and sinfully hot flirtation on a plane ride to Vegas ends up with a rooftop rendezvous with a PG13 rating. Why will Barrett not get physical with Alyssa? They pretty much are both VERY consenting adults but he is holding back now. The intrigue and seduction is off the charts and leaves not only Alyssa wanting more, but the reader also.

I loved Alyssa from the beginning. She's independent, confident, strong, smart, sexy, and knows exactly what she wants in life. When an unexpected trip to Vegas forgoes her plans for some fun with a "friend", she thinks not all luck is lost when she meets Barrett on the plane. Instantly their sexual chemistry is intense and you fall for him yourself. Then you learn not everything is as it seemed and the story takes an unexpected turn.

This was a whirlwind of a story, with fast-paced banter, and a screeching halt at the edge of a cliff. In this short novella, BJ Harvey introduces Alyssa, her plan to fly to Vegas to surprise her mother for her surprise engagement, and the meeting of Mr. Barrett Matthews. In a two day span, we get to know Alyssa and her intentions with Barrett, and just when you think things are getting pretty steamy, you are blindsided by the mother's new fiance. I kept tapping my phone thinking, there had to be more to this story; there was just no way I was just being sucked into this situation when you are met with an empty page. Great job, BJ Harvey. You introduced Alyssa to the reader as a strong, independent woman with her own vulnerabilities and the mysterious Barret who sounds to be a perfect match for Alyssa's Vegas weekend. But there is so much more. The flirting on the plane, the waiting at the airport's baggage claim, the rooftop date, and the surprised breakfast! My goodness, I need to get on with the second book now. I have to know what is up with Barrett. Is he good or bad? What's going to happen to

Touch by BJ Harvey is a very quick, hot, and exciting read filled with drama, suspense, angst, intrigue, mystery, attraction, lust, incredible chemistry, and anticipation, with some twists you don't see coming.

I need more!
Love BJ Harvey’s work and got hooked into outright addiction with The Bliss series! This book kicks off with a great catch leaving me wanting more - thank goodness i bought the other 2 in this series.

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Two strangers, one flight, a drink, a phone call, and a lustful date on a rooftop. The chemistry between Alyssa Jacobs and Barrett Matthews is unmistakable and intense. I thought the whole "strangers on a plane" storyline was pretty hot personally. I also love the characters, a lot. Alyssa Jacobs is a strong, independent woman who seems very open with her sexuality and her life. Barrett Matthews comes across as 100% alpha male, yet mysteriously sexy. Makes for a steamy read. I totally like the direction this book is going in. Let the games begin!

On the flip side, I wish it was longer. I know, it's part of a trilogy, I get that. I just wanted more. Maybe it's my 'need to know' issue or my inability to be patient, probably both. For as much as I loved this book it ended to soon for me and that's all I'm going to say about the end. No spoilers here! Aside from that though, this is an awesome story and I can't wait for book two in the series to arrive.

Firstly, I’m SO glad that I waited until all 3 parts were out before I started this serial.
Secondly, I’m going to need a very cold shower cause hell, that was HOT. Like actually Hellfire HOT.
Thirdly, BJ Harvey! Where have you been hiding the hotness that is Barrett Matthews and why am I only meeting him now! Did you try to keep him to yourself for a while? Because sharing is caring my fellow Kiwi!
I started the Sovereign series at 10pm at night thinking I would read Touch and then pick it back up with Taste in the morning, it’s now 1am and I’ve just finished Feel.
Touch begins with Alyssa on a plane excited to visit her mother. Then in stalks Mr Matthews who’s all kinds of cocky, confident and sexual. With a smirk, a dirty martini and a few incredibly hot and dirty words he forces his way into Alyssa’s thoughts and dreams. In Touch you learn nothing except that Barrett knows what he wants and exactly how to get it.
One romantic dinner and he knows everything about Alyssa and all Alyssa learns is that she’s hot, bothered and as intrigued as I am to know more about Barrett. One romantic lunch, a few heated words between Alyssa’s soon-to-be Stepfather and Barrett, as well as a confused Alyssa and we’re left with even more questions and less answers.
Touch is exactly how the title describes. A whole lot of sexual tension rolled up into a few fleeting kisses and one hot make out session. Touch leaves a lot to be desired in the information category and that cliff hanger will make you glad Taste is already available!

This short serial installment really packed a punch, in the best way possible. There were plenty of moments, specifically a certain character's way with the dirty talk, and the woman who wasn't afraid to ask for what she wanted.
Alyssa is on a flight to Vegas, where her mother's boyfriend has invited her. He's planning to pop the question to her mother. She expected the usual boring flight, and what she got was a sexy stranger, who caught her attention. Even better she caught his as well. They flirt during the entire flight, and it doesn't stop there. I mean this is B.J. Harvey, of course it doesn't end. They have a romantic encounter after the flight. That leaves one or both wanting more. Then the next day just makes everything else even more interesting.
There isn't much I didn't like about this book. This is an ultimate fantasy. Meet a sexy stranger, and be swept off your feet. The anticipation almost killed me. I was just waiting for a shoe to drop. It had the perfect progression until the very end, or not really the end, but to be continued...{insert sad face}. No, not the end, I want more.
You have to expect a cliffhanger in a serial, and that's okay. I can be patient. I can guarantee the minute the next installment is available I am going to be all over it-like white on rice. I recommend the first installment of this series. It's will be a quick, but enjoyable experience.
