At a celebrity party, all eyes are drawn to the glamorous A-listers. "Poor Lauren," Catherine said into her chest, her words dripping with promise, "suffering so much." Her head dipped lower...

RR: The characterization here was just so damn good. THIS is what I wish we’d gotten to see more of in The Red Files. The dynamic was challenging and yet obviously romantically established. Petition for Winter to write more novellas/extras like these 🫦

It's not often I feel compelled to give a novella a full five stars but this was just too darn delightful. Lauren and Catherine indulge themselves while seeing each other for the first time in two weeks and it's hot. Catherine especially, gosh. But actually, it was just as cute as it was hot. I've noticed Catherine tends to communicate her love through frequent and firm, loving hugs - just reading it made me melt.

She felt the loss of Catherine's fingers and, with great reluctance, slid her own out from beneath Catherine's dress. They straightened their own outfits a little sheepishly. Then Catherine pressed herself gently back into Lauren, arms wrapping around her, holding her. Tight.

Isn't Catherine just so...🥺💘. Though...I do think we need to talk about that sex scene because they were at it against a pillar underneath the moonlight with a hand in each other's dress - let's be honest, it's hard for it to be more romantic than that.

"Please," she whispered again, not even bothering to hide her wantonness. "Please touch me. God, I've missed you."
Catherine rubbed Lauren's cleft, outlined against her sodden lingerie, and groaned in approval against her neck. "Good," she said softly. "I'd hate to be the only one."

Please, she's such a softie 💘💞💓

Sexy.

A re-read. This is a really short story that takes place in between the first and the second book of the On The Record series and it shows the sexy side of Catherine and Lauren's relationship.

This is a short story tied to the novel, "The Red Files". It could be read as a stand-alone erotic piece because the author provides enough little bits of background to get a feel for the history but it will have more impact to read "The Red Files" first.

I love when authors provide little bonus extras.

The "Red Files" is well-written and, as an extension, this is, as well.

As of this writing, "Flashbang" is free on Ylva's site along with several other short stories (from other authors). It's worth taking a look.

I felt like reading something by Winter, and this was the only thing I had left. This is a short to read after The Red Files. It is a quick read, but nice and steamy. It was nice to be with the characters again. On top of that, I got this for free on YLVA's site, so you can't really beat that.

If you haven't read The Red Files yet, first of all, why not—it's amazing! Secondly, you'll want to in order for this novella to have the desired impact. I recommend reading Flashbag before Chapter 16 (the Epilogue), as it seamlessly integrates into the overall story.

Flashbag is a delightful addition to Catherine and Lauren's love story, offering a tender glimpse into Catherine's softer side and beautifully setting the stage for the Epilogue by deepening their romantic relationship.

My only minor snag was the change in Catherine's eye color—The Red Files consistently describes her eyes as gray, but in Flashbag, they’re blue.

“Please, what?” Catherine’s nimble fingers reached for the mid-thigh hem of Lauren’s dress and waited. “Was there something you wanted? Something you needed?”

Holy shit, This woman would be the death of me 🥵🔥.

A fun sexy interlude with the two main characters from Red Files. It was a very nice bonus following the finish of the Red Files. I'm not sure how well it would stand on its own.

I could read Lauren and Catherine’s story forever if I could. The love between them is so so beautiful beyond words, I could never do them justice.

This was a great short for those of us who were left wanting more of Catherine and Lauren. The passion, desire and sheer carnal want of each other barely contained itself on the pages. Fantastic quick bridge story between the end of The Red Files and its epilogue. I need a cold shower and a cigarette after this one, and I don’t even smoke!

Short chapter that feels like it didn't make the cut in the main book and is provided here to as an erotic taster. Short, fun, hot and not much more.

I had been reluctant to read this short story because it had been a longish while since I read the book the couple was from, and I had this vague idea that this was just going to be a sex story - this short story I mean. Then the story opened, and it seemed interesting - people at a party doing weird and odd things and . . wait, no, this is just a sex story. Right, so, I've now read this snippet and can close the story on this couple.

Fun little story from the end of The Red Files. I enjoyed that it showed how much Lauren misses Cathrine. I thought it was cute, sexy and fun. This is a worthy short for one of the best lesfics in the past few years. As it takes place in the story between the epilogue and the last chapter of The Red Files, I recommend reading this after you've read the full length novel.

Well written and great to experience more of the chemistry between Catherine and Lauren.

I found the timing of this chapter a little odd though - as it comes after the end of the last chapter but before the Epilogue of The Red Files. My brain found that a little difficult to reconcile.

I wouldn't read it on its own but it's a nice accompaniment to The Red Files.

Side note: did anyone else find this book really hard to find on Amazon?? I ended up buying it from iBooks...

I had fallen for Lauren and Catherine in The Red Files so I was thrilled to find this little gem. It is a follow up but also works as a stand alone. This seductive, sexy short finds us at Lauren's last LA party. Catherine comes back to help make the night memorable, so hot!
Great job Ms Winters.

I read it before but now I read the red files. This should actually have been put in The Red Files before the epilogue because that is where that would be the right timeline.

At an A list celebrity party, two rival journalists Lauren King and Catherine Ayers are both there to cover the event. What no one knows is the two have are having a love affair and this event is their last night together before they are separated by work.

This was a very short erotic story and didn't really give much background to the two before this event. It's not so much their last night together and more their last sexual encounter together. It's difficult to say a lot about such a short story but I will say it was a nice little erotic read.

I rate this 7 out of 10

A short story (and a continuation to The Red Files), but still another banger.

This explores the more erotic side of the relationship between Lauren and her ice queen, Catherine. They were already hot in the previous book, and that was without the explicit content!!!

I feel we should give Winter a medal, beeeecccccaaauuussseeee..... she knows how to hook us up, even with just a 34 page story.

A cute little add on to the 'Red Files' novel, that comes at no extra cost. No real plot there, just some hot one on one time for the two main protagonists of the 'Red Files'.
Devoured in one go and thoroughly enjoyed. Make sure to read the 'Red Files' first.
