The topic of "Critical thinking" of course cannot be discussed in 66 pages.
The book promised powerful strategies for thinking more critically, but unfortunately it did not deliver. It talked more about impulse buying, which pretty much we all know the questions we need to ask to stop it, than anything else in the book. The book wasn't all common sense though, it did have some interesting ideas.

Great for self improvement!

The beginning is a great intro that helps break some boundaries. After reading this I really feel that it can open your eyes as we do tend to close them to the every day life.

There are no real ground-breaking strategies to critical thinking in this book. If you find this book an eye-opener then you must've been a mindless sheep before reading it. Congratulations, welcome to the real world.

2.5 I really like Segler's books because they are so short and concise, but to the point. Not only this, but they also have actionable steps that you can take.

It looks more like a very simple self-help book than anything else. You probably already know all that stuff.

There is no exercises, no examples and no references for somebody who wants to know more on the subject.

A quick and easy to read book

A quick and easy to read book with plenty of helpful pointers. If you feel that you are running a race that society says you should be and not necessarily because you want to then this book will make you stop and think.

Ok read but nothing earth shattering

Ok for a casual read but no real depth to the material pretty much standard stuff. Possibly a starting point for critical thinking reading much better material out there.

This is complete rubbish, there's nothing technical on it, there's no studies, no empirical knowledge is used to support the arguments made. Even though some of what the author says it's true in a modern consumerist society, its also pretty obvious. It is amazing watching the author eating is own tail though
