A good book from an Indian author after a long time. Thoroughly researched, finely build up characters and nice story plot. This book need deep reading to attain most of the knowledge it gives. It would interest those the most who loves reading about historical and political events, especially about Indian-Pakistan relation.
Though the dialogues were bit stretched that would make general readers bore at few points.
But in a nutshell, it's worth reading!! Something fresh!!

"When the descendants of Imam Hasan and Imam Hussain were being killed by the Umayyad rulers, they sought, and got refuge in the Hindu kingdoms of Sind. To kill them Hajjaj bin Yusuf sent Mohammad Bin Qasim. Those Hindu kings and their families paid for it with their lives but they did not betray their guests. That Bin-Qasim is our hero and the King Dahir who saved my Prophet's descendants is our villain. Why? Because King Dahir was a Hindu and Bin-Qasim was a Muslim. We revere our Prophet but we also glorify Bin-Qasim as our hero. That is contradiction. The zealots have named missiles after invaders like Ahmed Shah Abdali who massacred the population of Lahore and burnt the city for good measure, but we shy away from accepting that Bhagat Singh was our hero, a freedom fighter who was illegally hung by the British. Contradiction! Ghori is our other missile who too has nothing to do with Pakistan but the local heros like Ashoka and Chandragupta are not taught."
