Oxford Bookworms Playscripts: Stage 1

The Butler Did It and Other Plays Level 1 Oxford Bookworms Library

Rate this book
A level 1 Oxford Bookworms Library graded reader. Retold for Learners of English by Clare West.

How do you get a licence if you want to keep a monkey? What can you do if your wife has a lover? How can you see into the future? Where can you go for an exciting but cheap holiday somewhere hot and far away? How can you persuade your girlfriend or boyfriend to marry you? The characters in these six original short plays are looking for answers to these questions. While trying to solve their problems, people get into some very funny situations. Each play gives an amusing view of life today, and there is often an unexpected ending.

2 7/9= 50 minutes
3 crystal ball, hands, future, happy, money, lie,
4 a) "You leave London to move to Sydney, with your Australian wife. And you're going to stop teaching, and become a very good tennis player."
b) I don't believe fortunetellings, however, I am happy if I am said "You will be happy" by a fortuneteller.
5 This book has 6 short stories. I don't like this book because each these stories are too short to understand. If I were a fortuneteller and I couldn't get money because I said bad things to someone, I would say only happy things to earn money.
