well crafted if reactionary shoot 'em up with ISIS terrorists, their financiers and sleazy, greedy paid for politicians in high places as the villains. well drawn characters and funny repartee. very violent. I suspect the author admires the political expediency of the genocide of indigenous Americans to make way for European.manifest Destiny. takes all kinds. Re-read in july, 2017.Re-read yet again in January, 2018. Still reactionary and violent but still a great yarn! Re-read again in June 2019. Guilty pleasure..read again in May, 2020 during pandemic quarantine.

Pure Enjoyabke Escapisn.

DeLeo really has his finger on the pulse of lots of us who dont make a lot of political noise. His protagonist rrsponds to the things in our society that outrage us exactly the way we fantasize at times. I think a real life Nick would be a blessing...especially in our current society. Nuff said...on to Book 6...

Nightmare

It was exciting, dramatic, and humorous all at once. I enjoyed it and can't wait until I read the next one. I even enjoyed reading the excerpt. Jean is something else and so is the new boy! He doesn't sound all there though. Oh well maybe I'll find out in the next book. Muerto away!

Very good series!

Humor all through the books keep you entertained! Nick and crew jump from one killing to the next needed killing. It is with a warped sense of humor but right up my alley. He kills for right and justice and America, now anyway.

Love the series. I have finally found that someone other than me is fed up with PC that is infecting our country. I feel that the current position of Islam fear is well addressed by this series. Bravo for DeLeo to meet it head on.

Welcome back, Nick. I've been waiting for you.

Nick McCarty continues the action by cleaning up the trash in Seattle, Boston, Salem, Washington, D.C. and elsewhere. He takes on the prevention of an honor killing, a couple of serial killers, kidnappers, drug dealers, a U.S. Senator and an Algerian ambassador.

I like Nick's happy little family group. He is training Jean and Sonny and trying to keep them alive when they overestimate their skills. There's a double wedding which fails to provide a break in the action.

I hope that's not too much information, but I'm still high on adrenaline and it makes me babble.

One star deducted for the errors. I appreciate being included in this story, billed as Second Grammar Nazi.

OMGOODNESS Nightmare in Red

Great addition to this series. I love the characters, have followed this series from the start and as an avid reader I love the development of characters and family in the series. As always any threat to America or family is taken care of as only Nick McCarty and his Unholy trio can. Can't wait for more

Enjoyable series, second series I have read from this author

I enjoyed this series. The action is non-stop and the author makes no bones about it being pulp-fiction. Their OPSEC is a bit loose at times but it is entertaining at least to me. I did like this but liked his Hard Case series better so recommend that if you have not tried it yet.

More... More... More....

I am addicted. Great series with great stories. I am totally invested in the characters and loved reading their growth into family. You known it's a great story with excellent writing when you cheer an assassin on! This is the second series I have read by Bernard. I hope he writes a book where Hard Case and Unholy Trio collaborate!!

This series has been slowly working into a real hate on Islam. It's definitely not for the politically correct. The first four haven't bothered me but this series is starting to lose plot and become more preachy. That being said, I ignored most of that and focused on the bits I do like. See I'm kind of invested in the characters now, so I'm screwed. I love Jean and Nick and John and CALA! I'm invested in what happens to them. I wish there was more Jean involvement but hopefully in future installments.
