Bestselling and award-winning authors bring you four never-before-published novellas of searing passions that span the ages.

Four fierce warriors from Ireland and Scotland...
Four heroines determined to resist them...
One dagger steeped in the blood and treachery of kings.

THE KING'S OUTLAW, by Kris Kennedy
1193 - Outlawed and on the run, Tadhg O’Malley has one mission: escape with the valuable dagger of Jerusalem before a brutal nobleman hunts him down. Trapped and almost cornered, his plan is simple: kidnap the innocent merchant with the long hair and complicated eyes. Igniting a raging passion is not part of the plan. Neither is falling in love. Both endanger their lives, his mission, and with it, the kingdom.

TAKEN BY THE HIGHLANDER, by Eliza Knight
1306 - A week before Lady Rose Munro is to wed a neighboring laird, she is abducted on the road by a wicked and dangerously handsome stranger. Highland warrior, Malcolm Montgomery has been ordered by King Robert the Bruce to steal Rose and her son from the suspected traitor she is about to marry—gifting him with an ancient and much sought after dagger as payment. Rose shouldn’t trust her captor. Shouldn’t feel her body heat at his simple touch, or allow him to press his fervent lips to hers… Malcolm shouldn’t be seducing the woman he is sworn to protect. Shouldn’t desire her, for she’s not meant to be his… Succumbing to passion threatens them both, and falling in love is absolutely not an option.

STOLEN BY A HIGHLAND ROGUE, by Vonda Sinclair
1619 - When the infamous dagger is stolen from Highland chief, Dugald MacKerrick, he will do whatever it takes to reclaim it, even abduct the wife of the aristocratic thief, but what if his beautiful French hostage isn't who he thinks she is? Deep in the rugged Scottish Highlands, Dugald discovers not only is his captive, Camille Bouchard, more than he expected, so is the passion raging between them, threatening everything he thought mattered to him.

HER WICKED HIGHLANDER, by Jennifer Haymore
1816 - Maxwell White is the newest member of the Highland Knights, an elite mercenary group sworn to protect the Crown. His first assignment is to keep independent and spirited Aila MacKerrick safe from a madman determined to get his hands on a treasure she unwittingly possesses. But Aila isn’t going to simply allow some Highlander—as handsome as he might be—to capture her and whisk her away to an abandoned castle. She’ll fight to the death for her freedom...as soon as she rids herself of this pesky, insistent desire that makes her far more inclined to run into his arms than away from them....

Out of all four novellas, I liked Kris Kennedy the best, then Jennifer Haymore. My feelings about Eliza Knight's and Vonda Sinclair's stories remain the same: I would not read them unless I have a good reason.

I would like to recommend Kris Kennedy to anyone who likes a good medieval story. I think her stories are extremely underrated. Her characters are original and plots complicated. A novella is probably not the best way to showcase her talents. But her story is the best out of all 4 in this box set, from my point of view, of course.

I am giving the box set 3 stars for Kris and Kennedy and Jennifer Haymore. The other 2 books are very weak 2 stars because, well, I feel bad.

THE KING'S OUTLAW, by Kris Kennedy

Typical Kris Kennedy excitement, entertaining novella read. This book also seems longer than the other 3 short stories. 3 stars.

TAKEN BY THE HIGHLANDER, by Eliza Knight

I have read enough books from Ms Knight to know that she is simply not for me. The style seems juvenile. It makes the sex scenes really awkward. Sorry, I have really tried to like Eliza Knight's books. It does not seem likely to happen. I am tempted to give it 1 star because the story was really boring. But well, what the hell, 2 stars for the efforts.

STOLEN BY A HIGHLAND ROGUE, by Vonda Sinclair

It took me about 30 minutes to finish the novella. Ms Vonsa Sinclair's stories read like Eliza Knight's stories to me. I will be steering away from both writers in the future. 2 stars to be nice.

HER WICKED HIGHLANDER, by Jennifer Haymore

I have read every book in Jennifer Haymore's Highland Knights stories and I think the first one about Robert and Claire is still the best. This novella has Max and Aila as lead characters. And I was SHOCKED, I say, shocked, when Aila jumped Max out of nowhere. I mean, I know this is a novella and things move at a fast pace and there is just no time for them to "slowly" grow to like each other. But honestly the entire story is just Max and Aila having wild sex while hiding from a murderous villain. And apparently that turns Aila on because right after she was almost burned to death, she was wet for Max. (eyes rolling)

The story is mediocre at best but I like the way Jennifer Haymore tells her stories. So I am willing to give this novella 3 stars.

I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review!
This is a great book as it has four different stories in one book. The book total pages is about 422 so the books are a fast read. This is a good book to have when you need to keep some 'book' for when you want a quick read. I am truly glad to have the chance to have this book. If you have read Historical Romance book with the Scot / Highlander theme than you will recognize these great authors. You will not be disappointed if you too get this book.

This review is only for THE KING'S OUTLAW by Kris Kennedy. I became a fan of Kennedy's writing after reading her first book several years ago. Her heroes are real men with flaws and surprisingly gentle ways--even with they are rough and violent warriors. They are sexy, complex, and intelligent and everything I want to fall in love with when I read historical romance. Her heroines jump off the page and manage to portray vulnerability and spunk, courage and fear. They have grace and they are smart...and they are never, ever, helpless...even when they are. :)

In the King's Outlaw, Kennedy delivered all that her previous full-length novels have led me to expect. Her story is richly textured, the history is interesting and fresh--I love it when I learn something!--and the romance. Good Lord, the romance! I fell in love with Tadhg on the first page. I'll be reading the others in the set, but had to stop and post about the King's Outlaw first. If you love historical fiction done right, you can't lose with this one.

Thank you NetGalley for giving me a chance to read this book.

One Dagger, four stories. It might seem excessive, but it isn't. From the Murder of certain individual to how each hero was able to come upon the dagger. The stories behind each family or should i say, each keeper was really interesting.

Reviewing per story would be a bit too much, so I'd have to review it as a whole.

Each characters were so alive. The lines they delivered are sappy at some point and funny in some. Their counterpart was equal to them in every aspect. I love how the dagger was kept in one of the families then was passed down from generation to generation.

The King’s Outlaw , by Kris Kennedy: showed us how the dagger was produce and it's significance. While Taken by the Highlander , by Eliza Knight; showed us what happen after the events of The King's Outlaw. Stolen by a Highland Rogue , by Vonda Sinclair; gave us a glimpsed oh what happen after the second book. But in the last book; Her Wicked Highlander , by Jennifer Haymore; showed us that there are still people trying to use the dagger for political purposes.

If you read each book individually, it is really interesting. But putting them together for the sole purpose of the history of the dagger was really good. I am not sure of the historical relevance of it, but it got me hooked on the first book.

Anyway, Great read!

I loved this boxed set of books! I thoroughly enjoyed each story following the ownership of Richard the Lion Hearted's bloody dagger by various families and the ages. Of course, with a line-up of authors whose work is represented here, I knew I couldn't go wrong. ;)

This was a satisfying collection of stories, which were all connected over a span of 800+ years by the legendary 'Dagger of King Richard'.
My favorite story was the first one, 'The King's Outlaw', which had a dark, mysterious beauty about it (namely with the H, Tadhg O’Malley). My least favorite - while well-written - was the last one, 'Her Wicked Highlander'. It seemed a bit rushed; the numerous sex scenes took over the plot, and the villain was too easily dealt with.
3.5 for the collection as a whole, with the first two stories earning 4 stars.

I liked that the main theme ran through each of the novellas. I was also pleasantly surprised that most of them were pretty good. Seems like there's always one good book in a bundle and the rest are nothing special.

I loved how this dagger was interconnected to all four stories over a span of over five hundred really brilliant and ingenious! The dagger was once owned by such great such as King's like "Richard the Lionheart"and "Robert the Bruce". All four are fast paced exciting adventure's filled with danger, mystery suspense, passion and love! Readers don't want to miss this exceptional and fun magnificent box set! If you love Scotland, it's history and romance you definitely don't want to miss this terrific set by four multi-talented authors Kris Kennedy, Eliza Knight,Vonda Sinclair and Jennifer Haymore. This was so much fun reading! I highly recommend!

"The Kings Outlaw" ( A Conquerors and Outlaw Novella) by Kris Kennedy

Saletè de Mer, Northern France, January, 1306

The hero of this story is Tadhg O'Malley, is an outlaw and his one objective is to find the worthy dagger weapon of Jerusalem. Before he is caught and pays the price, by meaty, bloodthirsty, ferocious, aristocratic men trailing him down! Tadhg is nearly caught and has only one option left he must take a hostage which sounds easy enough. He just didn't expect to fall head over heals when he abducted his beautiful captive. the beautiful Magdalena (MAGGIE), the Tailor, which puts he and she both at risk not to mention his mission and kingdom!

This novella is so hot that the pages nearly sizzle,in a non stop quick paced adventure. Kris Kennedy writes another heart melting page turner that readers won't be able to put down!

"Taken by the Highlander" ( A Conquered Bride Novella) by Eliza Knight

Fourlis Castle, Scotland, Spring 1306

Malcolm Montgomery had been ordered by King Robert the Bruce to abduct Lady Rose Munro and her son to keep her from marrying a man Bruce suspects might be a traitorous activities Malcolm is plagued with guilt for being attracted to Lady Rose and and acting on it even though he knows he knows the result will be devastating and he must not fall in love with . After all she is too high above his station, a woman he can never have a woman is was sworn to protect! Will his heart survive or it already to late?

Fan of Eliza's best selling Stolen Bride series will remember in The Highlander's Lady, book #3 Rose also was mentioned as Myra had brought Rose to safety after Myra's brother and Clan Munro Laird had been murdered,

Eliza writes another spectacular tale which never surprises me as I have been reading her since her debut book. You can't help but fall in love with her neck break paced stories, lovable characters, or her descriptive rich beautiful Scottish settings. I love how she weaves famous historical figures in her stories too. Another exceptional story by this multi talented author!

"Stolen By A Highland Rogue" (A Highland Adventures Novella) by Vonda
Sinclair

Scottish Highlands, June 1619

When a precious valuable King's daggers goes missing with lots of history and that once belonged to King Richard the Lionheart as it was once even passed down from King Robert Bruce has been stolen from Clan MacKerrick's Chieftain, Dugald MacKerrick! Dugald will do whatever is necessary to retrieve it even if it kidnapping the nobleman's wife he suspect's of the theft! What happens if you end up with the wrong woman that just might possibly be the right women?

Camille Bouchard is the heroine in this story. Fans of Ms. Sinclair's books will remember in "My Wild Highlander" who is Angelique's cousin. Angelique and Lachlan both make an appearances in this story too. I love when favorites character's from previous books are in a current book, it is like visiting an old friend or having a family reunion.

Again, Vonda Sinclair and that golden pen writes both a beautiful and passionate story that reader's won't be able to put down! I love when he calls her his Wee Frenchy...sigh. So much breathtaking dialogue in this one too...loved it!

"Her Wicked Highlander" ( A Highland Knights Novella) by Jennifer Haymore

Scottish Highlands, 1817

Aila MacKerrick is abducted in the mist of night by an unknown mercenary and newly appointed highland knight, Maxwell White. Aila does not realize who Max is or that he has done this to protect her from harm from a sadistic Warlord who wants the valuable famous dagger one belonging to Kings like Richard Lionheart and Robert the Bruce. Alia is taken to an old, isolated, deserted castle in the middle of the Highland forrest to keep her safe from harm. You can feel the attraction between these two right from the getgo, but due to Max's commitment as a Highland knight he holds back. At first Aila is furious and does not trust Max as he is a stranger to her, once she realizes his good and honorable reasons Aila soon opens her heart. You can also feel the danger that surround Alia from this cruel warlord who will do anything to possess this infamous dagger, even taking Alia from Max! Very passionate love story again centering around jeweled dagger that had been in Alia's family for generations.

Jennifer writes another wonderful passion filled story that will steal readers hearts!

I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review.

First of all, this is a series of four novellas by four different authors. These stories are tied together by a gemmed dagger that is said to be connected to King Richard the Lionhearted. All of the stories are packed with suspense and sensual, steamy love scenes. Each author in this series has brought a wonderful story connect to the King Richard dagger.

The King’s Outlaw by Kris Kennedy

I had trouble getting into the first book but once I was at about page twenty I was hooked. So, if it takes a bit to get into, hold out it is definitely worth the time to get into. This is the story of Tadhg and Magdalena taking place in the year of 1193 in France. Tadhg is an outlaw running from the law, protecting the dagger, and needs a place a way back to England. Magdalena is a tailor who is trying to get her wears delivered. By a chance meeting their lives become intertwined as Tadhg needs a way out and uses Magdalena. There connection is strong from the beginning.

This novella was steamy and sensual. A well put together story with romance and suspense. The characters were well developed, even though the majority their background was omitted (it is a novella, either story or background, I choose story).

Taken by the Highlander by Eliza Knight

This story is about Rose and Malcom and is set in Scotland in 1306, not long after William Wallace’s death. Rose is a widow with a child marrying for protection and for guidance for her son. Malcom (who has the gemmed dagger) is a warrior for Robert the Bruce and is tasked with abducting Rose to prevent marriage. The chemistry is palpable from the beginning of this story which makes for some interesting internal battles with the characters.

This portion of the story is sweet and steamy. Rose is resisting the pull and Malcom is one of those self-proclaimed bachelors. The story has well developed and provides just the right amount of suspense and loving romance.

*Side Note: Rose also was mentioned in the Stolen Bride Series by Eliza Knight*

Stolen by a Highland Rogue by Vonda Sinclair

Dugald family has had the illustrious dagger that has been passed down through the generations. He noticed after guest are leaving with his sister in a marriage contract that the dagger is missing. In an attempt to get the dagger back he kidnaps what he thinks is the wife of the chief of the departing clan. Instead he kidnaps Camille and the adventure begins. Both characters have the internal battle of desiring the other when they feel like they shouldn’t. Dugald things she is married and Camille feels she shouldn’t have feelings for her captor.

This story has a little comedy, a little adventure, and a lot of love. The characters are intriguing and easy to fall in love with. Camille is daring and a strong female that takes as much charge of her life as she can. Dugald is willing to do most anything to get that dagger back in his family.

*Side Note: Camille is cousin to Angelique who is the main character in My Wild Highlander by Vonda Sinclair*

Her Wicked Highlander by Jennifer Haymore

Aila’s family has had the King Richard dagger in her family for generations. It has been hidden since she is the last in the long line of MacKerricks. Maxwell has been tasked with kidnapping her to protect her from a man who wants the dagger for his own benefit. After explaining the reasons for the abduction Aila and Maxwell begin to form a bond.

Aila is very strong willed female character. She knows what she wants and seizes the moment. Maxwell knows what he wants as well be holds back because his life in the Highland Knights demands some sort of restraint. The passion is hot between the two of them leading to some very steamy scenes.

*Side Note: Characters in this book also appear in Highland Knights and House of Trent By Jennifer Haymore*

3.5*
*THE KING’S OUTLAW
Kris Kennedy
3.5*
This is the first story that I've read by Ms. Kennedy and I really enjoyed it. At first I found it difficult to follow the wording and at times the language did not follow the time period-at least that's how I felt. I soon found the flow and could not put it down. Tadhg intrigued me a great deal. I was unsure if he was good or bad. He did what he needed to to survive and it soon came to light he tried to do it without death. When Tadhg came upon Maggie he saw someone who could be useful to him he just didn't know how much he would come to need her.
*TAKEN BY THE HIGHLANDER
Eliza Knight
4*
This is my first Eliza Knight romance and it won't be my last. I was hooked into the story and couldn't put it down. Malcolm is one hot and honorable alpha highlander and Rose a very strong heroine. She was not about to be kidnapped with out a fight and she gave it her all. Time spent with Malcolm she sees the man he is and learns to trust him.
I can't wait to read more books by Ms. Knight.
*STOLEN BY A HIGHLAND ROGUE
Vonda Sinclair
3*
I love highlander historical romance. I love the alpha males and the strong lass'. One of the things I like the best is the strong Scottish brogues. Unfortunately this story did not have that. I enjoyed the story and the main characters, Dugald and Camille but it left me wanting more and dragged a bit.
*HER WICKED HIGHLANDER
Jennifer Haymore
3.25*
I enjoyed this book but at times it was a struggle to get through it. I really liked the characters Max and Aila. They were both strong and honorable people and the state of Scotland. Each of the stories of this anthology had suspense but I think Ms. Haymore did the best with Sutherland , he was truly an evil man.

The Kings Outlaw. by Kris Kennedy.
As a lover of medieval romance I jumped at the chance of reading The Kings Outlaw when I was offered an ARC by the author and I wasn't disappointed. The story was a thrilling adventure. A handsome hero drags an unknowing heroine into an impossible situation, and also into his bed. The story is intense and intriguing, a great plot line with endearing characters and of cause, a bad guy they must avoid. A great story, I loved it.

Taken By The Highlander by Eliza Knight.
Lady Rose has the misfortune to be abducted a week before her wedding. The warrior seems dangerous but he's also wickedly handsome. The warrior, Malcolm, has no intention to harming her though, he has orders from his King to find a traitor and gifted with a dagger as payment. Rose has no idea. The tension is high with this story. I loved Malcolm.

Stolen By A Highland Rogue by Vonda Sinclair.
Chief Dugald MacKerrick is in a stew, someone has stolen the King Richard Dagger. He believes he knows who has stolen it and abducts the thieves wife as hostage. The thing is his hostage is a feisty one and may not even be who she's supposed to be.
Dugald bit more off than he could chew, he shouldn't have been so stubborn. This one made me giggle.

Her Wicked Highlander, by Jennifer Haymore.
New mercenary Max's first mission is to protect Aila MacKerrick from a madman who is determined to relieve her of a famous dagger she unknowingly possesses. Aila, how ever, assumes Max to the threat and makes it as difficult as possible for him to whisk her away to hide her.
Lots of frustration for Max, and tension and suspense as the bad guy's get closer to Alia. Great.

The King's Outlaw by Kris Kennedy, 5 solid swoonworthy stars. KK has the ability to create mood so you can *feel* in the moment, from the crackle of a fire to a whoosh of a blade through the air to the warmth of the first touch of your lover's lips. And it always feel like the first time you're *feeling* it! Love, love, love these two fated souls, Tadhg and Maggie. I bought this anthology just for this first in a new series, Conquerors and Kings. Totally worth my $ and time!
All of the three other stories were by new-to-me authors.
Eliza Knight's Taken by a Highlander I give a solid 3,5. Decent period dialog and plausible plot line. I liked Malcom and Rose, both individually and together. Would have given 4 stars but that d@mn word Zounds came up. Twice. Use 'God's blood' or some other period swear word! LOL Just a silly pet peeve if mine over a silly word.
Vonda Sinclair's Stolen by a Highland Rogue...well...hell. This did nothing for me. DNF due mainly to the dialog (cheesy like a telenovela cheesy) and characters (heartbreaking beautiful with hairy, manly highlander calves and silky, long blue black tresses) whom were rash (stupid angry brutes) or conniving vixens (seems the heroine was gunning for any beautiful highlander of her own). *sigh* Couldn't even finish the epilogue *double sigh*
Jennifer Haymore's Her Wicked Highlander was okay. I ended up liking Aila and Max. They certainly fit well together in the end. 3 stars.
I love anthologies that carry a central theme like this one of Richard the Lionhearted's ruby encrusted dagger.
My overall rating for this anthology is 4 stars.

LOVED IT! I loved every single novella in this collection and would rate them all 5 stars.

The King's Outlaw - Kris Kennedy (5 stars) Oh, Ms. Kennedy how I have missed your writing! It has been far too long! Tadhg was just perfect - he is sexy, smart, witty and brave. Magdalena aka Maggie was his perfect match, she is bold, smart, brave and fierce! I only wish we got an "I love you" or a "Marry me". But even without that - excellent novella and I am looking forward to more!!

Taken by the Highlander - Eliza Knight (5 stars) Another fantastic installment of the Conquered Bride Series. Malcolm and Rose were wonderful - I didn't even mind that she loved her first husband - because Ms. Knight made me believe the love between Malcolm and Rose was special!

Stolen by a Highland Rogue - Vonda Sinclair (5 stars) OK, this was the one I thought I wouldn't like and it ended up being my favorite! Dugald and Camille were HOT! I am surprised my kindle didn't melt :)

Her Wicked Highlander - Jennifer Haymore (5 stars) I think this was my second favorite - Maxwell is such a great addition to the Highland Knights and Aila was probably one of the best heroines I have EVER read - that girl was AWESOME!

I really liked how each of these stories followed the dagger - but they were all different and exciting in their own way. This was an exceptionally well written collection and I would highly recommend it.

A slight of hand...

catching a traitor...

a case of mistaken identity...

and thwarting a power hungry noble.

This anthology follows how a dagger is passed down through the generations and how others wished to posses
it for over 600 years.

I really liked this compilation of stories because they are all connected through the dagger. Anthologies often follow a common theme, but are not really tied together like this one is. That is a plus for me. Knowing that all the stories were tied to the dagger, had me excited to continue to each of the following stories, just to see what would happen to it.

Most of the authors were new to me, so it was nice to get to know their style of writing and find some new authors that I want to read. That is always a plus!

Jennifer's story, Her Wicked Highlander) is book 2.5 in her Highland Knights series. The others seemed like they might also be a part of series by that author, but I couldn't find any information on it...

I'm hoping that Kennedy, Knight, Sinclair and Haymore decide to do this again as I really enjoyed reading all four stories.

Thanks go out to CrushStar Multimedia via NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange of an honest review.

Overall, I really loved this work, and I loved being exposed to new authors. I bought this book because Vonda is my all-time favorite. I read her books during a sad time in my life and her vivid stories with characters seen throughout all books, just makes you feel connected to them. It was wonderful to see a few in this book as well. Eliza is another preferred author and writes compelling and sensual Highland love stories and this lived up to her talent. Jennifer was a new author for me, but her story is right along with the style I prefer...hot Highland hero love! Plus, her story is slightly linked to Vonda's which made it very unique and cool. Finally, Kris was another new author and the first story in this book. At first I didn't take to her style of writing. But I kept reading and came to love the story and her carnal writing as well. Again, I really love that this dagger travels through time with the writings of these four authors. Highly, highly recommend! You will not be disappointed.

Captured by the Celtic Warrior consists of hot men, fiesty women and a journey unlike any other. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. As a self proclaimed bookworm I see all types of stories. However romance is where my heart lies. Each story is different but linked by a historical artifact steeped in a mystery. This anthology keeps getting more intriguing with every story and is never dull.

The King's Outlaw by Kris Kennedy- It was somewhat scary going into a story blind. This is a new author and I didn't have any expectations. This story was a surprise. Steeped in adventure, Ms. Kennedy creates a story that is believable. The plot is full of surprises. The struggle between mind and heart is the central focus and I want to point out that each character was not what they seemed. There was no obvious solution and that is what drew me in. The story is complex but spellbinding. I am glad I took the chance.

Stars 4/5 (Jennifer Ashley, Sarah MacLean, Jess Michaels, Margaret Mallory, Julie Johnstone)

Hey fellow readers I don’t summarize the books (as there are always great full summaries written that I read myself).

I only give it my personal, general, summary of 5 stars to 1 star.

4 stars: This book was good, worth reading in a few days. It hit pretty much most of my personal markers for a good read and well roundness of the book; it just lacked ‘something’ for 5 stars (usually a little slower moving for my liking and/or humour and/or romantic).

The development and interest in main characters and secondary characters was enjoyable. Laugh out loud and/or smirk with humorous moments. Movement of the book flowed for the most part. Book writing/conversation engaging. romantic/sexual content (3 or more scenes) was throughout the book.

Will definitely re-read this book to enjoy it again.

Totally recommend author.

Kris Kennedy is a new author me and when I got a chance to read and review a gifted copy of her story The Kings Outlaw, I jumped at the chance. Because this is a novella and we jump right into the story Of Tadhg O'Malley who is an outlaw on the run and Magdalena, a tailor, it took me a little bit to get my bearings. It didn't take too long tho before I was drawn into the story of Tadhg being on the run. When he comes upon Maggie who is getting proposition and he steps in to help. There very first kiss happens when Tadhg is trying to avoid capture and he puts the stolen dagger in her basket during the kiss. I found his back story interesting and sad. He just wants to go home and live in peace. Maggie has pretty much given up on having her HEA. I can't wait to read the others stories in the series.

I am a huge fan of Kris Kennedy and was so very happy to have some new material by her... And it did not disappoint!! As aways, her writing is exciting, fun, intriguing and captivating. Once again she has created some really great characters, an excellent story line, and some super steamy love scenes. She writes dialog so well, and masterfully creates a sense of longing and layered character motivations and trajectories. Kennedy's writing is so good, I found it difficult to get into the other stories and characters. They are too formulaic and lack the pizzaz present in Kennedy's novella. not sure I'll finish the others. That said, I'm sure many others will enjoy the entire selection. For me, Kennedy's novella was worth the price and I can't wait for her next book.

Four stories never-before-published of searing passions that span the ages. Four fierce warriors from Ireland and Scotland. Four heroines determined to resist them. One dagger steeped in the blood and treachery of kings. It might seem excessive, but it isn't. The stories are all not only connected, but absolutely amazing.

The stories are well-written, interesting and captivating. I just love it when I found a Historical Romance that manage to transport you back on time. If you love historical fiction done right, you can't lose with this one.

I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Four stories spanning 600 years

Theses four stories all involve a dagger with a large ruby. The first story gets it from the Crusades to the British Isles and the others have it resurface every couple hundred years.

I was especially pleased to read Eliza Knight's story about Malcolm Montgomery. It has been a year or so since I read his brother Jamie's story.

This was a good collection of historical romance stories, two new to me. They were all filled with a lot of hot, steamy scenes. They also included quite a bit of action and the requisite too-hot-too-handle knights. The women were strong, but not overbearing. It was interesting how the stories were connected to one another by the dagger.

As far as novella go they were all good. Some of course a little better than others. I read the series for Jennifer Haymore's novel which was good in its connection to the rest of her Highlander Knights series.

I felt a few of these left me wanting more and the others were decent on their own.
