Prince Mathis wants nothing but peace for his kingdom, while his brother, Prince Talin, is determined to align his own realm with their family’s sworn enemy. Mathis will be damned before he witnesses the ceremony binding his brother to the daughter of their father’s murderer.

Talin’s most trusted captain, Nadia d’Arcy, is ordered to abduct Mathis and bring him by force to Noventia for the wedding, a marriage that’s not what it seems to be.

Mathis and Nadia’s mutual attraction tests both the captain’s loyalty to her prince and Mathis’ already worn patience. As a rebellion threatens all they hold dear, Nadia must choose between the life she’s always known or surrender to the handsome prince who is determined to make her his.

I get totally swept away with Robin Danner's Princes books. She takes her readers to a faraway kingdom where one can escape with palace intrigue, dashing princes and where a feisty heroine can kick ass as a capable soldier. This is a quick, fun read and I enjoyed it very much.

When I finished this story I was bummed. I wanted a much longer book. This obviously means I was enjoying it. I like Robin's voice. It was a breezy read with hijinks that kept me giggling throughout the entire thing. I also really loved and appreciated that Nadia is not the typical historical heroine, or typical heroine at all. For me she was the shining light of this book. I love strong heroines but my pet peeve with them is they tend to get written too prideful, to the point where I just want to slap them. This was not the case with Nadia. She was strong and prideful for a good reason and her cautiousness never crossed the line to overly cautious. She is a smart, capable heroine who keeps her head on straight and still manages to allow herself to fall in love. It was refreshing for me to read her.
Great story. My only complaint was that I wished there had been more of it and lucky for me there's a book 2 :)

The Princes Bound is an intriguing role reversal romance. The heroine, Nadia, isn’t your typical female. She is a Captain of the Prince’s army and has spent her life learning to fight and protect her country. Her Prince knows he can rely on her abilities so she is chosen for a very special assignment: bring the Prince’s brother to the capital for the royal wedding of Prince Talin.

Nadia succeeds in her mission but she is also forced to deal with the intense attraction she feels towards Prince Mathis. She has never been with a man and never felt lacking in that regard. At first she fights the attraction, trying to remain a just a soldier, and not a woman who happens to be a soldier. Eventually she succumbs to Mathis but keeps in mind that it will never be more than a sexual relationship. She believes that she could never have more than a status as a mistress.

Along with this blossoming romance is intrigue and mystery over the arrival of the man Mathis believes murdered his father and the man’s daughter, Prince Talin’s betrothed. The reader is never made privy to Talin’s plans and whether he truly believes this union is wise or beneficial to the country. I thought he had some other plan in mind and wasn’t just accepting this man’s loyalty at face value.

My only issue with this book was it ended without resolving the intrigue surrounding Prince Talin and his potential marriage. However, it is the first book of a series so I will have faith this story line will be concluded later.

Overall I enjoyed the story and thought it was a well written, fast paced story.

It only took me about four hours to finish this novella. It kept me turning pages. Nadia is an appealing heroine. Strong and gutsy, she's a Captain in the Noventian Army, the only army in this mythical country that allows women to serve. She grew up with Prince Mathis and Prince Talin. As the book opens, Prince Mathis, who rules the neighboring kingdom of Isidor, refuses to come to Talin's wedding since he disapproves of Talin's bride. Talin sends Nadia and a band of soldiers to force his brother to show up for his nuptials. The attraction between Nadia and Mathis is instantaneous. But the way it unfolds is unique.

In many ways, this story crosses genres. It is part romance, part suspense, part historical, and part fantasy because it occurs in a made-up world. All in all, the characters are engaging and the story pulled me along. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

This is a fast-paced historical romance that I finished in one sitting. I was quickly pulled into the story and was disappointing when it ended. This could have been a much longer story. I will be reading more of Robin Danner's Princes series. I love strong heroines and Nadia made this book shine, in my opinion. A princess who is captain in the army? Loved it!

The pages are filled with action, intrigue, and of course romance.
