As a fire fighter, this book blew me away.

I have been a fire fighter for 30 years. Our profession is full of people who serve as caregivers, who have an incredible work ethic. Many of my fellow brothers and sisters are driven to excel in fitness, even compete in many physical activities. So I can only imagine how horrifying It was to be diagnosed with such a devastating disease, as Dennis was. He had been trained and prepared to rush into to burning buildings to save lives, but never thought he would have to face the enemy Dermamyosiitis. Though it nearly killed him, with the support of both civilian and fire families, he overcame his disease. Unfortunately, DM, altered his life in ways he had not expected. But he did learn to appreciate things many take for granted, and found what an incredible team he had who were there to encourage and help him along the way. Excellent story, worth sharing. It may even help someone be proactive in their own health journey, including myself. From a fellow fire fighter sister, from the Pacific Northwest, great job Dennis.
