Corporal Dennis Benson is a Marine who serves in a special operations battalion together with Sergeant Adler Williams. Despite the tight bond between the elite unit Marines, Dennis has not found the courage to tell Adler, or the rest of his team, that he is gay. Adler's own life is turned upside down when his wife tells him that she is pregnant. Before the men can address their looming concerns, their worlds are shaken yet again.
Dennis and Adler are sent on a dangerous mission in South Sudan, where they meet Jafar, a young nurse who works at the US Embassy. Soon all three meet their enemies and their lives are in danger, unless they find a way to escape. Operation Silent Moon is a story about young men who are searching for their place in the big world.

Well, book two was way better than book one. Because book one had me so confused. I didn’t know what was going on with the Kevin guy. I just assume that Dennis was going to end up with him. But in the end, he didn’t.
With book two; it kept me interested because I wanted to know what happened next. I can say I am so sad that Newton died lord I liked that guy because he was one of Dennis close friends. I kept praying that Alder didn’t die on me and Dennis even with his broken leg.
When the helicopter caught fire. I believe that Newton and Mullan were in the front and Dennis and Alder were in the back. If it wasn’t for Dennis dragging Alder out he would’ve been gone too. I can say that Dennis is a hero. And Alder is too even though his leg/foot was bothering him badly and could hardly work. He had Dennis back and Dennis had his.
I was glad that they took Jafar back to America with them because his family was some horrible people. His brother wanted to kill Dennis I was glad that Jafar told Dennis and Alder of what his brother plans were. & Alder took the knife from him.
Not only that finally his parents well his dad accepted that Dennis was gay. I believe more so I know that them learning that Dennis may have died and then learning that he was alive mad a lot of changing of the way his father felt about his son being gay. I was glad of that and especially that both of them came out of that war alive because of Jafar saving them. I was glad Jafar kept that phone of his because if Jafar didn’t Alder and Dennis would’ve died.
What surprised me was that Jafar's brother wanted to help but he probably only wanted to help so he could kill Dennis and then kill Jafar for being gay. I was glad they didn’t get a chance.
I don't often give book reviews, but this story is very good, and I both want to help and encourage the author. I don't know how much he actually knew about Sudan (where most of the action took place), but it rang true, as did some knowledge about Marines, and their equipment. I liked the general story a lot, though at times I wished there was more "meat" on the bones. I got fairly invested in Dennis, the main character, but felt Jafar could have used a bit more fleshing out. Still, I found Dennis, Adler his sergeant, and Jafar to be both likeable, and very human. I have also really liked Jay Argent's other coming out books a lot, too! J'm usually more of "high fantasy"/sword and sorcery stories, but this story set against the military and geopolitical background quickly grabbed ahold of me, and I ended up reading it all in one sitting! Can't wait for more of Jay's Gay romances!
I grabbed this as I was interested in following the story of Dennis, it was all that it promised. A nice read of a love story in a war torn part of the world. While it's a well written story, it left me feeling like there was a lot that could have been expanded and elaborated on to bring it together a whole lot more. Don't get me wrong, I really did appreciate what Jay's done and Jafar is as cute as a button.
Overall a good read and i think one of Jay's better stories to date. There's a good feel for the charters and sceens ; you feel almost like you watching a movie rather than just looking at the words on the pages.
This is the second half of Cpl. Dennis Benson's story. Reading the 1st part will really help you understand some of the things they flash back to.
Although the editing was poor, the storyline itself was great! I read it in one sitting. It's been a long time since I've had a book I couldn't put down... Ralph
This book had a lot of potential. I'm glad I got it free off amazon. I can appreciate what the author was trying to do, but there was not a real plot in this story. The characters and relationships were shallow and every other aspect left something out on major scales. It could have been better. Some aspects were sweet, but Parts which could have been significant in the overall story were briefly glanced at and then just ignored for Netherlands rest of the story. Didn't like this very much.
Military M/M romance with a just out of the closet marine finding love and comfort with a very in the closet muslim man in south Sudan. This story was not the usual feel good scenario, although there is a definite HEA that comes only after lots of death and violence. My favorite military M/M story this year is still "The only guy". 100ish pages 3 stars
A good story that I enjoyed. It was well written, and the characters was wonderful. This us the first book I have read by this author, but not the last.
