Çevirisi bitti. Son okumasını yapacağım, ama şu kadarını söyleyebilirim kitap gerçekten güzel. Genç kesime hitap ediyor, ama bu genç olmayanların okuyamayacağı ya da sevmeyeceği anlamına gelmiyor. Kurucunun Kızı gibi düşünün ama ondan daha güzel olduğunu söyleyebilirim. Ondan çok daha hareketli, daha fazla merak unsuru var ve bir macera var. Hareket var kısacası!
Bildiğimiz dünya hastalıklar sonucunda yok olmuş ve insanların hizada kalması için farklı bir toplum yapısı oluşturulmuş. Bunlar "Halkalardan" oluşuyor. İnsanların daha doğuştan kaderleri saptanıyor ve kaderlerinin önemine göre toplumda statü sahibi oluyor, renklere ayrılıyorlar. En üst halkadakiler Mor iken, en alt halkadakiler Kül rengi. 7 kademeli bir yapı gibi. Mor, Kırmızı, Yeşil, Sarı, Kahverengi, Barut Rengi, Kül rengi. Tabii bir de Renksizler var. Onlar belirli bir kaderi olmayan ya da doğduğunda kaderi saptanamayanlar. Toplumun en altındaki insanlar. Yukarıdan aşağıya gittikçe fakirlik artıyor, önem azalıyor...

Yani yazarın kurmaya çalıştığı dünyanın kurmacalığını gördüm, inandırıcı gelmedi. Ama kitap ilerledikçe kesinlikle güzelleşiyor.

Hooked after the first page!!! So excited about this trilogy!! Reminded me of divergent. Ash is the lowest ring of this post "event" society that is divided into 7 color groups. One of the main characters, Dax, is an Ash because as a baby she was told her destiny was blank. I knew right away something was up with these "blanks"! I loved all the twist...who could Dax trust and who could she not! And the relationships that evolved in this first book...Wow! I will be first in line to read the next book in this trilogy! I give it 5 stars!!!!

Madden'i göstermiş olduğu davranıştan dolayı tebrik ediyorum :) yine de onu fazla sevemedim ikinci kitapta sevebileceğimi düşünüyorum. Yani 2. Kitabı merakla beklediğimide burdan anladınız. KİTAP MÜKEMMEL! alın , okuyun :)

M U H T E Ş E M D İ ! Distopya delisi değilimdir aslında.. Sistemi anlamak biraz zaman gerektiriyor ama konu ve işlenişi ultra güzel. Bir kitabın son cümlesinin kitabın en vurucu olduğuna çok az denk geldim ve kesinlikle öyleydi 10 kitaplık seri olsa hepsini okurum..

Beğendim ben bu kitabı ya. Klasik distopya işte diyebilirsiniz ama bu kader olayını sevdim ben. Düşünsenize, doğduğunuzda kaderinizin ne olacağını biliyorsunuz. (Düşünemedi. :D) Yine de bilerek yaşamayı istemezdim. Artıları olduğu kadar eksilerinin de çok olduğuna eminim. Devamını okumak için sabırsızlanıyorum.

This has so many twists and turns that it's impossible to put down, but the deeper questions it asks about how much of our lives are controlled by destiny versus free-will is what makes this an especially intriguing read. I loved it!

Etkileyici, akıcı bir kitap. Bir günde bitti. Keşke sonraki kitabı beklemek zorunda olmasaydık. Benim daha okuyasım vardı bu kızları çünkü.

Distopya türünde olan kitabımız Kül'ü aldığım günden beri kapağıyla aşk yaşayarak okumak için öldüm. Başta kapağı ve kalitesi cezbediyor. Hemen konusu üzerinden kitap hakkındaki düşüncelerimden bahsedeyim diyorum.
Bir hastalık sonucunda yeni bir sistem kuruluyor, insanlar renklere göre sınıflara ayrılıyor. Renk seçimini kişi kendisi yapamıyor. Doğduğunda kaderi saptanıp önem derecesine göre bir sınıfsal renge sahip oluyor. Her türden kader var ve hepsi birbirine bağlı. Kiminin kaderi zaman damgasının belli olduğu saat ve günde karşıdan karşıya geçmek, kimininki bakan olmak, kimininki 18 yaşına gelmeden ölmek. Liste bu şekilde uzayıp gidiyor. Bir de kaderi olmayanlar var.
Önem derecesine göre de renklere ayrılıyorlar demiştim. En alt halkadan üst halkaya doğru sırasıyla Renksizler -kaderi olmayanlar, küllerle aynı tabakadalar ancak aynı zamanda onlardan da alttalar- Küller, Barutlar, Kahverengiler, Sarılar, Yeşiller, Kırmızılar ve en üst kesim olan morlar. Karşıdan karşıya geçmek bir Küle ait kader. Onların bakanlık sisteminde de yediler bakanı olmak ise elde edilebilecek en üst seviyedeki kader ve bir mora ait.
Tahmin edebileceğiniz gibi Morların yaşam standartlarıyla Küller arasında uçurum var. Hatta üst halkadakiler alt tabakadan insanlarla karşılaşmak bile istemiyor.
Kitap iki karakterin ağzıdan anlatılıyor. Birisi yediler bakanı olup hükümetin başına geçecek -mor- Madden Sumner. Diğeri de kaderi olmayan, renksiz Dax Harris. Bu iki karakterin yolları zaten kesişmiş ilk başta birbirlerini tanıyorlar. Olaylar hayatlarını bir şekilde birleştiriyor.
Ben karakterlerini çok sevdim. Özellikle Dax bence çok sağlam bir kadın karakter. Madden ve Dax dışındaki herkesi sevdim. İyisi de kötüsü de sevilesi.
Bahsetmeden geçemeyeceğim bir diğer nokta fantastik kitapların içinde o dünyaya ait şeylere bayılıyorum. Para birimleri, konum belirleyicileri, çember yarışı ayrı bir orijinallik katıp kendinizi farklı bir alemde bulmanızı sağlıyor. Kimi yazar bu alemi yaratırken çuvallar içinde hissettiremez ama ben hissettim. Hatta şu çember yarışının sahnesi gözümde çok harika şekilde canlandı, film olsa da sahneyi gözlerimle de görsem dedim okurken.
(Ay ay bir de Shakespare'den de yerinde apılmış alıntılar da vardı. Bu da ayrıca hoşuma gitti.)
Sürekli bir olay oluyor ve yolun kenarlarında kendiliğinden açmış çiçekler gibi kitabın içine serpiştirilmiş, yoğun olmayan aşk da var. Aslında ben olan olayları okurken az çok tahmin ettim. Bana kalırsa okuyan bir çok kişi de tahmin edebilir. Düşündüğüm şekilde ilerledi. Buna rağmen kesinlikle düşüncelerim olumsuza çevrilmedi. Serinin ilk kitabı da olduğunu düşünürsek her şeyin başındayız.
Ben distopya okumayı da çok seven biriyim. Kaç kitaptan oluşacak bilmiyorum ama umarım sonraki kitap ya da kitaplarda da aynı tadı ya da daha fazlasını alarak okurum. Bazı distopyalarda sonlar "Gerçekten bu mudur yani?" dedirtecek şekilde oluyor. Yine umuyorum ki Kader Serisi de bu şekilde bitmez.
Minik bir dipnot olarak da kitaba beklentisiz başlamanızı öneririm. Çünkü beklenti ile başladığınızda umduğunuzu bulamıyorsunuz. Genelde bana öyle oluyor. Külden nefret etmenizi istemem doğrusu.
-Bir kader yolunu ne kadar derin kazarsa, o kadar çok sorumluluk talep eder.
-..ve güvenebildiğin zamanlarda bilgi çok daha güçlüdür.
-Kaybedecek hiçbir şeyin olmadığında komediyi en garip yerlerde buluyorsun.

Başlarda kafam çok karıştı, hiçbir şey anlamadım renklerden dolayı. İlerledikçe ve anladıkça çok daha keyifli bir okuma süreci oldu. Uyumsuz'a benziyordu, ama bu daha iyi gibiydi. Çevirisine bayıldım, dili harikaydı. Konunun gidişatı beklemediğiniz bir anda değişiyor ve sizi daha çok içine çekiyor. Sürprizlerle dolu bir kitap. Kapak zaten muhteşemdi, salonuma çok uydu :D :D :D

Sanırım okuduğum en iyi distopyalardan biriydi. Son sayfasına kadar dur durak bilmeyen bir heyecan ve merakla okudum. Kitabın birbirinin zıttı, çok farklı hayatlar yaşayan iki kadın karakterin bakış açısıyla yazılması ve ikisinin yollarının kesişip durması çok hoşuma gitti. Yaratılan dünya Açlık Oyunları'ndaki gibi eğlence uğruna öldürmeler vs. içerecek kadar karanlık olmasa da ona çok yakındı ve bayağı da hayranlık uyandırıcıydı. Yazarlar hayal güçlerini konuşturmuş anlayacağınız. Hem kurguyu hem de anlatımlarını çok sevdim. Devamı için sabırsızlanıyorum valla. :D

uzun zamandır böyle akıp gidin minnoş bir distopya okumamıştım o yüzden çok hoşuma gitti. madden canım seni de çok sevdim, tam yerinde davrandın her konuda, eğer serinin ilerleyen kitaplarında da böyle davranırsan seni küçük Queen'lerim listeme alabilirim. sol ile de ayrı tatlı oldunuz, link de şirindi ama kendini çok gösteremedi. o yüzden şimdilik sol daha iyi, ben izin veriyorum onunla olabilirsin. başarılarının devamını diliyorum ve BU YAYIN EVİ NEDEN İKİNCİ KİTABI ÇEVİRMİYOR AYOL diyerek gidiyorum.

Excellent book! Once you start it's impossible to put down. Such a great world and great plot and wonderful characters. Definitely worth the read if you ask me. Can't wait until official release so I can discuss with everyone!

Konusu güzeldi,yazarların üslubunu sevdim.
Madden karakterini sevemedim ya.O malum olaydan sonra çok az da olsa bi sempatim oldu ama şimdi bitirdikten sonra düşününce çok sevemedim gerçekten.Dax karakterini çok sevdim fakat kitabın sonuna bakarsak ikinci kitapta Madden daha çok olacak gibi :'(

In a world where the destiny of a person is determined at birth there are only two possibilities: to follow what the system and fate want for you or rebel, signing your own death sentence.
In this alternate universe, in which every action has been established years before it happens, live Dax Harris and Madden Sumner, two girls who are on opposite sides of the system, but they will soon find tied by circumstances.
Dax knows she was not meant to give help to the society: being a Blank, her fate is empty, missing, and she is the last rung of the social ladder. But, compared to other Blank, she has a family to rely on, and so many people who care about her, despite her status.
Her life is turned upside down when in the Day of Destiny of his older brother Aldan everything, that was predestined, does not happen and Dax finds herself having to seek allies to save her family and discover the mysteries that lie behind a mysterious death.
On the other side there is Madden, meant to be a Minister of Seven and reach the highest levels of the social ladder. Confident, knows that her fate is tied closely to her conduct from perfect Purple. Unlike Dax, her family includes only her father, who oversees her every move, but she has from her side the sweet Nora who knows her better than anyone.
Madden also will soon intertwine her existence with that of Dax, mainly because of the bond that she has with the brother of the Blank. And by helping the girl, find that their fates are crossed from well before their own birth.
I liked both as narrators and I must say that compared to other books with more POV this is one of the most balanced.
I also enjoyed the secondary characters and their relationships with the protagonists: Sol and links are definitely my favorites.
Society behind “Ash” is divided into seven rings of a different color according to the usefulness of the population: those that are lower are in Ash (and below them the Blank), then, in order, Slate, Brown, Yellow, Green, Crimson, Purple. The division in color maybe is not too original, but it certainly is effective in a dystopian novel like this. The attention to this element of the world building is certainly remarkable and also the division of the city into real areas is well designed.
I enjoyed a little less the hints of the Event - this mysterious event that brought the color system - because I would have preferred seeing them more depth. It remains too mysterious for my taste, leaving perhaps predict that in future books it will be discussed more. However, I would like to know a little more since this book.
I loved the idea of predetermined destiny impossible to miss. I have always been fascinated by the thought that everything, even the smaller events, is connected in some way and that it is up to each one a different task and in this novel these thoughts were brought to the extreme consequences of a life without free will. I wondered throughout the novel how would be like to be in the place of the protagonists and maybe know what is my destiny. Certainly, I would never want to be in the shoes of the poor Sol!
The extraction process of destiny is very charming and has left me, especially in the shocking end, with many questions still unanswered.
“Ash” is a well written dystopia that will lead you to wonder about what is the true power of destiny and how important it is free will.

In questo universo alternativo in cui ogni azione è stata stabilita anni prima di avvenire vivono Dax Harris e Madden Sumner, due ragazze che si trovano ai lati opposti della società, ma che si scopriranno presto legate dalle circostanze.
Dax sa perfettamente di non essere destinata a dare un aiuto alla società: essendo una Blank, il suo destino è vuoto, mancante e si trova nell’ultimo gradino della scala sociale. Ma, rispetto ad altri Blank, ha una famiglia su cui contare e tante persone che tengono a lei, nonostante il suo status.
La sua vita viene sconvolta quando nel Giorno del Destino del suo fratello maggiore Aldan tutto ciò che era predestinato non accade e Dax si ritrova a dover cercare degli alleati per salvare la sua famiglia e scoprire i misteri che si celano dietro una misteriosa morte.
Dall’altra parte c’è Madden, destinata ad essere un Ministro dei Sette e raggiungere i gradi più alti della scala sociale. Sicura di sé, sa bene che il suo destino è legato strettamente alla sua condotta da perfetta Purple. A differenza di Dax la sua famiglia include solo il padre, che sorveglia ogni sua mossa, ma ha dalla sua la dolce Nora che la conosce meglio di chiunque altro.

La società alla base di “Ash” è divisa in sette rings, cerchi, di colore diverso in base all’utilità della popolazione: quelli che stanno più in basso sono in Ash (e sotto di loro i Blank), poi, in ordine, Slate, Brown, Yellow, Green, Crimson, Purple. La divisione in colori forse non è troppo originale, ma di certo è efficace all’interno di un romanzo distopico come questo. L’attenzione per questo elemento del world building è certamente notevole e anche la divisione della città in vere e proprie zone è ben progettata.
Ho apprezzato un po’ meno gli accenni all’Evento - questo misterioso avvenimento che ha portato il sistema dei colori - perché avrei preferito di più vederli approfonditi. Rimane sempre troppo misterioso per i miei gusti, lasciando forse presagire che nei prossimi libri se ne discuterà di più. Però, mi sarebbe piaciuto sapere qualcosa in più già da questo libro.
L’idea del destino predeterminato e impossibile da mancare mi è piaciuta molto. Mi ha sempre affascinata il pensiero che tutto, anche gli avvenimenti più piccoli, sia collegato in qualche modo e che ad ognuno spetta un compito diverso e in questo romanzo questi miei pensieri sono stati portati fino alle estreme conseguenze di una vita senza libero arbitrio. Mi sono domandata per tutto il romanzo come sarebbe stato essere al posto delle protagoniste e sapere magari quale è il proprio destino. Di certo, non vorrei essere mai nei panni del povero Sol!
Anche il processo di estrazione del destino è molto affascinante e mi ha lasciata, soprattutto nel finale sconvolgente, con tante domande ancora senza risposta.
“Ash” è una distopia ben scritta che vi porterà a domandarvi su quale sia il vero potere del destino e su quanto sia importante il libero arbitrio.

In a world where the destiny of a person is determined at birth there are only two possibilities: to follow what the system and fate want for you or rebel, signing your own death sentence.
In this alternate universe, in which every action has been established years before it happens, live Dax Harris and Madden Sumner, two girls who are on opposite sides of the system, but they will soon find tied by circumstances.
Dax knows she was not meant to give help to the society: being a Blank, her fate is empty, missing, and she is the last rung of the social ladder. But, compared to other Blank, she has a family to rely on, and so many people who care about her, despite her status.
Her life is turned upside down when in the Day of Destiny of his older brother Aldan everything, that was predestined, does not happen and Dax finds herself having to seek allies to save her family and discover the mysteries that lie behind a mysterious death.
On the other side there is Madden, meant to be a Minister of Seven and reach the highest levels of the social ladder. Confident, knows that her fate is tied closely to her conduct from perfect Purple. Unlike Dax, her family includes only her father, who oversees her every move, but she has from her side the sweet Nora who knows her better than anyone.
Madden also will soon intertwine her existence with that of Dax, mainly because of the bond that she has with the brother of the Blank. And by helping the girl, find that their fates are crossed from well before their own birth.
I liked both as narrators and I must say that compared to other books with more POV this is one of the most balanced.
I also enjoyed the secondary characters and their relationships with the protagonists: Sol and links are definitely my favorites.
Society behind “Ash” is divided into seven rings of a different color according to the usefulness of the population: those that are lower are in Ash (and below them the Blank), then, in order, Slate, Brown, Yellow, Green, Crimson, Purple. The division in color maybe is not too original, but it certainly is effective in a dystopian novel like this. The attention to this element of the world building is certainly remarkable and also the division of the city into real areas is well designed.
I enjoyed a little less the hints of the Event - this mysterious event that brought the color system - because I would have preferred seeing them more depth. It remains too mysterious for my taste, leaving perhaps predict that in future books it will be discussed more. However, I would like to know a little more since this book.
I loved the idea of predetermined destiny impossible to miss. I have always been fascinated by the thought that everything, even the smaller events, is connected in some way and that it is up to each one a different task and in this novel these thoughts were brought to the extreme consequences of a life without free will. I wondered throughout the novel how would be like to be in the place of the protagonists and maybe know what is my destiny. Certainly, I would never want to be in the shoes of the poor Sol!
The extraction process of destiny is very charming and has left me, especially in the shocking end, with many questions still unanswered.
“Ash” is a well written dystopia that will lead you to wonder about what is the true power of destiny and how important it is free will.

Dax sa perfettamente di non essere destinata a dare un aiuto alla società: essendo una Blank, il suo destino è vuoto, mancante e si trova nell’ultimo gradino della scala sociale. Ma, rispetto ad altri Blank, ha una famiglia su cui contare e tante persone che tengono a lei, nonostante il suo status.
La sua vita viene sconvolta quando nel Giorno del Destino del suo fratello maggiore Aldan tutto ciò che era predestinato non accade e Dax si ritrova a dover cercare degli alleati per salvare la sua famiglia e scoprire i misteri che si celano dietro una misteriosa morte.
Dall’altra parte c’è Madden, destinata ad essere un Ministro dei Sette e raggiungere i gradi più alti della scala sociale. Sicura di sé, sa bene che il suo destino è legato strettamente alla sua condotta da perfetta Purple. Madden Summer is the up and coming minister of the seven and top leading a brilliant purple life. However Dax Harris isn't only and Ash but a blank...someone with no destiny and one that's costing her family in taxes and status. These two worlds collide in a series of unfortunate circumstances...or is it destiny?
Have you ever read the first book in a series and than played the waiting game for book two? It's the worst. Strike that...the worst thing happened to me after I read Ash...I can't even find book two! UltraViolet is currently out of print and impossible to find anywhere. I don't hand out the five star reviews often but Ash definitely deserves it. And now I'm curled in the fetal position, sucking my thumb because I can't get my hands on book two. Okay...yes I'm being mellow dramatic but it's THAT good. Im hoping one of the authors/publishers will take pity on me and help me out here.
Seriously, go grab a copy of Ash and if you happen to find UltraViolet....come talk to me. I might sell my soul for it.

I purchased this book in Feb. of 2016, after reading a few reviews on Goodreads I decided not to read it right off the bat. And with other books coming out, and working it just sat on my kindle. Well, I honestly don't know what most of the lower starred reviews were talking about.
I loved this book and had to force myself to put it down just to get some sleep.
Dax and Madden are the main characters and the story switches between their points of view. Dax is a "Blank" Ash and Madden is a Purple. There are a total of seven rings of color within the New City. This is all the "New World" after a catastrophic event happened that wiped out most of the world's population. Now everyone is classified at birth based on their extracted destinies.
The story is actually well written and kept me swiping page after page until 3 am. The first half does drag a little, but it soon picks up with action and mystery. all surrounding Madden and Dax.
Definitely can't wait for the next book, though I see it may be a bit longer as only one of the authors is now taking it over.

Bu kitap, yeni dönem distopyaları arasına cuk diye oturuyor arkadaş. Aslında bu tür yeni distopyalara hepimiz alıştık artık. Son üç yıldır, hatta belki bir kaç yıl daha öncedir, genel olarak bu tarz tercih ediliyor. Açıkçası ben seviyorum. Sınıflara ayrılmış bozuk bir sistem, en alt tabakadaki baş karakter, akıl almayacak bir olayla tetiklenen başkaldırış öyküsü...
Evet, hepsinin bu kurgusal yönde ilerlediğini görebilirsiniz. Kül'de bunlardan biri. Ve az önce dediğim gibi. Ben seviyorum. O yüzden bir kaç saat içerisinde, hemencik bitmesi normal.
Buradaki farklılık renkler. Açlık Oyunları'nda Mıntıkalar, Uyumsuz'da meslekler, Kızıl Kraliçe'de kan rengi, Efsane'de zeka ve daha nice aklıma gelmeyen çeşitte sınıflandırma çeşidi var. İşte Kül'de de insanları sınıflandırmak için renkler kullanılmış.
Yukarıdan aşağıya doğru; mor, kırmızı, yeşil, sarı, kahverengi, barut rengi ve kül rengi. Kül rengi ve renksizler tabiri aynı kişiler için kullanılabiliyor.

DNF at 50% because I was just so damn bored! The plot is very slow-moving - it takes about a third of the way in before anything happens besides a sporting event. Then there's a little excitement for a bit but then that fizzles out too.
The 2 povs are very difficult to distinguish from one another. The 2 girls are very different but their voices aren't. I usually don't have problems with multiple povs (I didn't have a problem distinguishing Tris and Tobias), but this one was tough. What's super weird is that there are 2 authors so I assume they each wrote a pov, which you would think would make them distinct. But you would be wrong. It was tough to really figure out any personality for the characters. Their demographics and situations are clear but they didn't have distinctive personalities, which made it so difficult to tell them apart. And it made it difficult to really care what happened to them.

As an Ash-leigh, this book literally had my name on it, and, as I read on, I was thrilled to find that it didn't lure me in for no reason. Ring colors, rebellion--I've read a ton of books, I'm kind of over those elements, but the Destiny angle is what really impressed me. In the past, I've really enjoyed books like Queen B and How to Ditch Your Fairy, because of the "human power" aspects. So, I found it even more interesting navigating characters with destinies big and small, like crossing a street or being a minister. Then the time stamp thing took it to a whole other level, and the reveals just kept coming.
Ash is the kind of book you'll find yourself thinking about in your spare time. It was a good story built on a fascinating foundation.

Aslında 4.5 verdim. Nedeni ise her ne kadar kitabı çok sevmiş ve hemen bitirmişte olsam kitapta bazı ana konular karışık anlatılmıştı bence. Ama yinede güzel bir kitaptı. Özellikle bir yerden sonra inanılmaz heyecanlandı. Ve şuan ikinci kitabı çok okumak istiyorum. Biri bana ikinci kitabı versin !¡!¡

Extremely good, Mind-blowing, Loved it. Started reading the book and I was so dazed and lost in it. I lost track of time but I know that I finished it in one single day. Cannot wait to read the next book.

Amazing!!!
Though I cared for one main character over the other, they were both equally understandable in their own ways.
The twist was pretty predictable but that didn't stop me from reading or douse my craving for the next book.
