Lane Austin would do almost anything for his local firehouse, even model for a sexy calendar. But now he’s allowed himself to be talked into auctioning himself off. What was he thinking?

What better way to celebrate than having her cousin take her to watch a bunch of firemen be auctioned off to horny housewives? But when Jenna secretly buys Mr. September for her, her entire world and all of her preconceptions about hunky men will change forever.

If you have read any of her books, you may also notice that there is a love of food, especially sweets! She has been blamed for a few added pounds by her assistant, editor, and fans… donuts or pie anyone?
This was such a great read that I inhaled it, I didn't stop reading until I was finished with the book. Lane was a breath of fresh air, he's not your typical alpha male, he's a bit shy and a whole lot of cute. When Allison comes up with a bright idea to help the fire department to raise money, Lane doesn't want to do it but he knows it's for a great cause and since some of his other firefighter brother will be posing for the calendar as well he does it. I bet he didn't know what he was getting himself into when he said ok, because once she had him on the rope it didn't stop at the calendar!
Abby is the new girl in town, she will be working for Todd Jordan at Jordan Industries. And what better way is there for her to get to know the locals but at a Fireman Auction, only she has no clue that is what she is doing because her cousin doesn't tell her until they get there. Since Abby recently ended a relationship with her finance she is in no rush to start dating. Well, Jenna and Mr. September have other ideas about that.
Fun, sexy, and suspenseful are all words that I would use to describe this book. This was a great addition to the Pride Series by Jill Sanders
I absolutely loving visiting Pride, Oregon in these books. However, this book has taken over as my favorite book in the series. You have a hunky fireman with the body of a Greek god, intellect and is a gentleman. You have a female who is not only pretty, athletic, strong and intelligent, but knows how to take care of herself. Toss in a great plot with unanticipated action as well as, some rather great sex and you have a book that you won't be able to put down! Kudo's! I'm thrilled that I was selected to read this book in exchange for an unbiased review since I had read all the other books in the series, I thought I would like this one....but it was even better than anticipated as it is now my new favorite in the series! I highly recommend this book, but if you really want to enjoy the entire series I would start with #1 and read your way through a wonderful town that is well developed with quality characters. You really won't be sorry.
It's getting HOT in here!! I absolutely love the Pride series, but Rescue me has gone to the top spot... It has everything you need, a HOT, chunky fireman... An amazing storyline and a very sexy, beautiful, leading lady.. Lane has been rope into selling himself at auction, to raise money for the firehouse... Abby has just come out of a bad relationship and is moving to Pride to start over.. Her friend thinks she needs a bit of TLC, so she bids for him... Abby is not impressed, till she picks her jaw up off the floor and wipes the drool off her chin... Their connection is off the charts... Jill is one of those authors, that as soon as you hear one of her books is about to be released, that you can't but help auto-1-click... ** I was given this book by the author, for an honest review **
Lane Austin a firefighter at Pride County Fire & Rescue would do anything for his firehouse, he even let himself get talked into auctioning himself off. It wasn't that hard cause he could never say no to one of his dearest friends, Allison Jordan.
Abigail Taylor just came out of a terrible relationship and to celebrate her freedom, her cousin Jenna took her to an auction thrown by the local firehouse. Unknown to Abby, Jenna bought her Mr September who turned out to be, Lane.
What Lane thought was a bad idea turned out to be one of the best things to ever happened to him when he got to know Abby. She couldn't fight what was happening between them but when Lane's past and an accident threatened his future, he fought for the woman who stole his heart.
As always reading any book in the Pride series is a heartfelt warm feeling guaranteed. Catching up with old characters and meeting news ones feels like coming home after years away.
RESCUE ME took my breath away, loved how two individuals who looked like they had nothing in common to the naked eyes were a perfect match and they did had more than one thing in common.
Jill Sanders melt my heart with this book, if you haven't read yet please to so....you won't regret it, that's a promise.
Ok usually I love all Jill's book but there was one confusing thing that should of been edited out when she said she had a older brother who died of Muscular Dystrophy (MD) and then it was never mentioned or refereed to again didn't make sense, I know these book are short in length but if your going to write that in then why does she not mention it to Lane when he talks about Angie why dose Abby's father as well not mention him you even wrote that her dad said Abby and Jenna longed for siblings but not to be,( is this because of the MD ? We'll never know) when he said his wife worked with children with special needs its like her brother didn't exist, it just didn't work would of been better to just leave that out altogether. My husband has MD so I know the struggles and life expendency and the fact MD is genetic disorder so she could of been a carrier for her future children, not so much Jenna because females are the carriers and male are usually affected ( all depends on the type of MD etc).Just food for thought. On a lighter note the romance side of thing was beautiful as usual, the other bit just left me wondering.
Lane reluctantly agrees to be auctioned off to raise money for the firehouse. Abby's cousin decides that Abby should have some fun and "buys" a date for Abby. Despite both of their reservations, they hit is off and have more in common than they originally thought. Abby is getting ready to move to Pride and so they will be seeing a lot of each other. Abby needs to set aside her anxiety over her previous failed relationship or they may not stand a chance.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This is such a sweet, romantic read with great characters and some action and suspense thrown in. I love Lane and Abby and how they met and how their relationship progressed. Lane is every girl's dream man. He's a hot, sweet, dedicated fireman who literally walked through fire for Abby to save her. You will enjoy this great romance.
I just can't get enough of all of the characters of Pride. This is a wonderful addition to the series. The characters and story are fantastic. Lane and Abby have a great and unique love story. Everyone should pick up a copy!
Rescue Me by Jill Sanders is a difficult book to review, because I wanted to like it so much. I just couldn't get myself to. There was a huge disconnect. It is written in third person and it doesn't connect well with the main characters. The male lead - Lane - is connected really well, but when it switches to Abby, I feel like it's really forced. Also...what is the point of the whole car buying scene? I honestly found no point to it and could have easily been taken out of the book without affecting the plot at all.
However, I want to like the book because the story line had a LOT of potential, and it's really rare for me to read an eBook that doesn't have a lot of errors in it. I didn't see any while reading, so I REALLY wanted to enjoy this book. I give it a 3 out of 5 for the formatting and grammar. I want the score to be higher, but I can't ignore how disconnected things feel and some of the really random scenes (such as the car buying one) that seem to have no meaning whatsoever. Still, if you're a romance fan, you'll still really enjoy Rescue Me by Jill Sanders.
what another great read from Jill. Lane and Abby story is a bit different when Lane has to do a fireman bachelor auction to find funds for his new fire station in Pride he finds himself on a blind date. When Abby's cousin Jenna secretly buys her a fireman bachelor she furious but agrees to the date, she has just agreed to a new job and has to move soon so with Lane living in Pride Oregon she find out more about the place she’s moving too on the date they really hit it off so Lane helps her move. After a few weeks in her new home Abby loves it but is lonely without her cousin and best friend Jenna so when Jenna has an accident she rushes to her bedside with Lane beside her on their way back home to Pride their flight goes down and their fighting for their own lives. Can’t wait to read more from this series
Tres bonne histoire comme le reste de la série mais ce tome a été traduit à la va vite sans relecture et c’est juste horrible sur certains passages (coquilles, mot manquant ou en trop, erreur grammaticale...)
Love this story. This story is about Abby that moves to pride and goes on a blind date of sorts. Sparks fly between this fireman and Abby right away. When someone is willing to steer a plane and battle fires and ice cold rivers you hold on to them. Highly recommended this pride series

I am so glad I finally got to return to the Pride series. I have loved the entire series and this book was a wonderful addition to it. It was worth the wait !!!!!
Eh. It was ok. I wouldn't read another book from this author. She says "smiled" or "smile" way too much. The copy editor in me wanted to pummel her. And the story itself was kind of ok.
Wow! What a great book! I loved the story line of Lane getting talked into posing for a firefighters calendar. But that's not all. As another fundraiser, he agrees to participate in a Fireman Auction and be auctioned off for a dinner date. Abby was new in town and just ended a relationship. In an attempt to cheer her up, Abby's cousin, Jenna, takes her out. Little did Abby know they were going to the auction. Jenna bought Mr. September, Lane, for Abby when she was out of the room. Abby was sure surprised when she found out.
As with all of Jill Sanders books, the writing is smooth flowing making it easy to follow the plot. And what a plot! Starting with hunky firemen posing for calendars then seeing the softer side to Lane when he starts caring for Abby. I love seeing a big, strong alpha male getting all mushy for a woman. I liked Abby too. She was a strong woman who was determined to move on from her damaging past relationship. I had to love Jenna who was always doing what she thought was best for Abby - whether she liked it or not.
This was a great romance and I'm so glad I got it through Goodreads Making Connections. Even though I got this book free I'm voluntarily reviewing it as I do with all the books I read.
I really enjoyed the story. I know that since I didn’t skim over one page. It was a cute love story with a nice couple, Lane and Abby, that fell in love over a period of a few weeks, when she moved to the town from which her cousin, Jenna, bought Abby a date at a firemens auction.
I liked all the other players in the book, Iian, Allison, Angie, Walter and Jenna. There was a little problem with Lane’s ex-girlfriend but that really didn’t last long. The OMG moment came with the plane crash and the swim through the freezing lake then the run through the flames of the fire that the plane caused.
There was some sexual attraction and 2 or 3 nicely written sex scenes. There was small swear words but that was all.
As to the narrator: He has a nice reading voice but he is without emotion. He didn't laugh or whisper or shout or anything else the book called for, and his women’s voices were a little too masculine. I would listen to him again but I wouldn’t go out of my way to find more books he’s narrated.
I am so glad I finally got to return to the Pride series. I have loved the entire series and this book was a wonderful addition to it. It was worth the wait !!!!!
Lane is one of the local fire crew in Pride. They all need to raise money for the new firehouse on the other side of town. His friend Alison Jordan comes up with the great idea of a calendar and a date auction to raise money. Lane isn't keen, but when the calendar sales are a hit, he has to agree she is on to a winner.
Abby is about to embark on a new life in Pride having just got a job at Jordan Shipping. She is not looking forward to moving away from her cousin in Portland, but it will only be an hour or so away. To celebrate they are off to a night out that her new boss has sent tickets for, what Abby didn't know was that it's the date auction for the firehouse fundraiser. Jenna had another surprise for her!
Lovely story of a chance meeting when two people "just click" with quite a dramatic part thrown in. Could be read as stand alone.
