The wife of a biological warfare expert, murdered. Her husband, accused of killing her. Her intelligence operative brother-in-law, the target of assassins determined to hide the truth. All battle a formidable enemy adept at infiltrating the highest levels with body doubles. What is the Secretary of Defense to do?

He has only one choice: To activate the S.A.T.—Special Abilities Team.

Commander Sally Drake’s Secret Assignment Security Specialists return with a new team of operatives—all armed with special abilities…

Dr. Morgan Cabot heads the S.A.T. team and is ordered to interdict Captain Jackson Stern, the brother-in-law of the victim and brother of the accused killer—or his body double—and to determine which he is before he leaves international waters. Morgan must positively identify him and determine how the team’s enemy and feared adversary, Thomas Kunz, connects to this homicide case. Who killed Laura Stern, and why? Is her husband guilty, or had he been framed? And has classified intelligence on biological warfare been compromised, national security been breached? Who and what is the ultimate target?

Morgan’s special abilities have made her an outsider most of her life. She’s accustomed to skeptics; being highly intuitive has wrecked her every personal relationship and many professional ones. She’s prepared to face the challenges on this case. But she is not prepared to face Captain Jackson Stern. He matters. His opinion of her matters, and, depending on her findings and how this case resolves, he has a lot to lose.

Murder. Power. Resolve. Facing steep challenges from her allies and enemies, Morgan expects their worst, including being targeted for assassination. But not until she interdicts the secretive captain does she realize that to find her answers and accomplish her mission, she must risk her life and her heart.

"Kill Zone: War Games" is a combination of mystery, murder, espionage and romance that's packed into a captivating thriller that begins in the Gulf of Mexico. Dr. Morgan Cabot has targeted and tranquilized Captain Jackson Stern so he can be transported to Home Base and his identity confirmed. But, what Morgan doesn't realize as yet is that this is just the first part of a mission that will take her into more danger as she,her S.A.T. team and Jackson try to prove Bruce Stern's innocence in the murder of his wife, and attempt to locate Thomas Kunz, the head of G.R.I.D., a deadly terrorist organization that steals technological secrets to sell to the highest bidder. With ruthlessness and heartlessness known to all government agencies Kunz and his group kill anyone who threatens their plans and will not stop until they get what they want.

Dr. Morgan Cabot, a psychologist by profession is the leader of the S.A.T. - Special Abilities Team. A strong-willed, determined agent who's been spurned by family and friends for years because of her intuitive ability she will be drawn to Jackson, but will hold fast to her heart out of fear. Captain Jackson Stern, a hard-nosed undercover operative struggles with the death of his sister-in-law and the incarceration of his brother, a man he's always protected. Working with these two strong characters who hold tight to their secrets, are the fiery and blunt Taylor Lee, and the tough and spirited Jazie Craig, the two other members of the S.A.T. team as well as the quintessential intelligence officer Darcy Clark and the formidable Commander Drake. Even their brutal antagonist Thomas Kunz is unforgettable his secrecy and brilliant tactics keeping him one step ahead of S.A.T. and other government agencies.

The story is well-written and spine-tingling as the reader is taken on a roller-coaster ride with every twist and turn. It's very obvious she's done a lot of research and has had some military assistance for this story to be so effective. I enjoyed it immensely and plan to read other books by Vicki Hinze.

Jackson Stern's sister-in-law, Laura has been viciously murdered and, her husband, Bruce is in jail for her murder. When Jackson finds out, he is determined to find his sister-in-law's murderer and, get his brother out of jail. Thing is that there is the distinct possibility that Bruce is a double. Jackson has been working with S.A.S.S. for a while but, has never met Dr. Morgan Cabot.
Morgan is an intuitive who can see a persons' thoughts by reading a dead body or, by touching a live person. She knows that Bruce's wife was only concerned about getting him help but, she doesn't know why. She knows that Bruce is the real thing but, where is his double?
Jackson and Morgan must work together to figure out what Kunz's plan is for Bruce's double and, for both of them, also.
Does Kunz actually, finally have a weakness???
You'll have to read this to find the answer!

If you love great romantic suspense, you'll love Kill Zone by Vicki Hinze. Dr. Morgan Cabot is one of the members of the S.A.S.S. team, a trio of women with special abilities, when she's on a mission to take down Thomas Kunz and his G.R.I.D. team. When she tranquilized Captain Jackson Stern, things heat up between them, when he discovers that his brother's arrested for his sister-in-law's murder. it's up to Stern and Cabot to find out how and why, when there's a mutual attraction between them, that heats things up. When things get complicated, as Kunz's GRID are after them, as they discover the connection between Kunz and her murder, until it gets too close for comfort, as he got away. Lots of military drama in this one. You'll love it.

OMG, stupid, stupid, stupid. No basis in reality. I didn't realize this was a fantasy book. I didn't even finish it, because it was so unrealistic. I don't know if this was the authors first book, but it will certainly be the last one I read.
