5 HEART FELT STARS!!
Longing For you is the first book by Mayra Statham I have read and let me say I'M A FAN!!! I loved this book so much that I didn't want it to end. There was so much emotion in this book that it sucked me in right from the very first sentence.
Longing for you is the first book I've read where people have a second chance at being with their one true love after over 30 years have past.
Jess Logan is a divorced, independent mother of 2 who NEVER put her one true love behind her.
Scott Kostas is a divorced, take charge father of 2 daughters who also never put his one true love behind him.
Jess Logan and Scott Kostas were each other's first love. However after college graduation they separated. Now over 30 years later their paths cross when Jess's son Drew and Scott's daughter Chloe get engaged and have a "meet the parents" lunch. Imagine the surprise when both Jess and Scott realize this. After meeting they realize that the same intense feelings from 30 years ago are still there. Will Scott and Jess get their second try at having an happily ever after or has too much time past?
This is a 2015 must read that is just perfect!

They say, You never forget your first love, and that is definitely true for Jess and Scott. They had their chance in the past, but a disapproving parent got in the way. They both went their separate ways, got married, and each had 2 kids; a girl and boy for Jess, and 2 girls for Scott, and both couples got divorced. Thirty years have passed, and Jess' son, Drew wants to introduce his girlfriend, Chloe's parents to his parents. Jess really likes Chloe, and knows she'll like her parents, because they raised an amazing daughter. Unfortunately, (or fortunately) Drew's dad and Chloe's mom are unable to make it to the brunch. Jess is completely shocked to see that Chloe's dad is none other than Scott, the man she never stopped loving. Scott is equally surprised to see Jess again, as he has also never stopped loving her either. Will they still have the same connection as they once had? How will their kids react to this surprise? A beautiful love story that took 30 years in the making!

Jess Logan is a fifty something year old divorce Mom of two. She owns her own flower shop and is very happy with the way her life is right now. She and her ex husband ended things on good terms and still have a friendship even though he remarried and has kids with his second wife. Her son Drew is living with his girlfriend Chloe and wants his Mom to meet Chloe's parents.
Scott Kostas is a handsome rugged man in his fifties with a crazy ex wife and two beautiful daughters. They are the loves of his life and he's so proud of being their father. His daughter Chloe is living with her boyfriend Drew and he has been invited to meet Drew's parents.
Imagine thirty five years after a break up running into the first person you ever loved. The person you were planning a future with until your not. This is exactly what happens to Jess and Scott when they meet the parents of their children's boy and girlfriend. The attraction is still there and memories come flooding back to what was and could have been. Jess acts like she's never met Scott before at the meeting not wanting to explain it all to their kids. She does however want to know why Scott broke up with her all those years ago. Can they get back what they once had and neither had ever forgotten or gotten over?
I absolutely loved this book. I loved that it was about an older couple. It's rare to find a book that has an older couple with grown kids. This book however is one of those rare gems. They say you never really forget your first love and his book proves that theory. It's one of the most emotional love stories I've ever read. The book is so well written that your in the moment with Jess and Scott the entire time. They both have secrets and have a lot of explaining to do to their kids. They also are totally different people than they were in their twenties and it was great to read the flashbacks and be in the memories with them. It's a story of true love and the one that got away.
This was the first book I've ever read by Marya Statham but it won't be my last. I loved her writing style so much and would recommend this book to everyone I know.

Mayra Statham has really become one of my very favorite authors, this is the forth book of hers I've read and just like the others this book is phenomenal and had me hooked! I loved it so much! This book is so beautifully written. The main and secondary characters are wonderful and each on completely unique.
Jess is a divorced mother of two grown children, who has never really gotten over her first love. While, she may have moved on and and had a good life after her first love left her, something was always missing.
Scott is a divorced father, of two grown daughters and is about to meet his daughters soon to be in-laws. The woman that walks in is the last person he ever expected to see again.
This book is so sweet and so perfect. Longing for You is a second chance romance that will make your heart smile. It's a quick read, very fast paced, and perfect for when you need a pick me up or something to mend your heart. I can't rave enough about Mayra and her writing.. it just has all the feels. <3

Longing For You is a heart-warming second chance love story between a pair of older adults. Both have grown children and first marriages under their belt. As a result, gone is the angst that characterizes young adult or new adult novels. (In that regard, it was a nice change of pace for me, since those are what I typically gravitate toward.)
The short work starts off strong, with none of the long-winded exposition that characterizes some first chapters. Both MCs are likable, focused, self-actualized individuals. The story behind why they split in the first place is interesting, and the outside forces working against them constitute conflict and give the story its ups and downs.
If you're looking for a short and sweet light-hearted read, Longing For You is a safe bet!

This was a story about reuniting true love after over 30 years apart. Jess and Scott met and loved one another back in high school but were unfortunately torn apart. Now they are brought back together by one another's adult children. Despite the drama with the ex's, and everything else they come back together stronger then ever.
It was an interesting ,and in my opinion unique story. However it did have its faults.It was hard for me to connect with the characters due too the age difference maybe. The story felt a bit far fetched for the age of the characters but that could be just me being young and not wanting to picture my grandma doing it...lol.

I received a ARC of this book for my honest review. I absolutely loved this book. It was a beautiful love story . Scott & Jessica were each other's first loves. But they were young & mistakes were made to cause them to go their own separate ways. Years later somethings happen and. Ring them back together again. Jess is determined not to let Scott break her heart but Scott has different plans. He's gonna show her that he can be the man she can love & trust. He's not that young boy anymore.

This story is sweet, romantic, erotic, and just awesome! It my first story I've read by Mayra, and it won't be my last.
It's hard to forget your first love, and Jes and Scott never forgot each other. They had lost touch, but were coincidentally reunited the day their children (from each of their previous marriages) brought them face-to-face.
Thirty years is a long time to miss someone. A lot of changes take place, some good, some not so good. But the one thing that never changed was the love they shared.

Jessica was prepared to meet her son’s girlfriend’s parents but she had no idea that she would be meeting the man that she fell in love with over thirty years ago. Jessica was Scott’s first love and now that fate has intervened he is determined to never let her go. This was such a sweet story about second chances and lifetime love. This was a refreshing idea with the parents falling in love again. I liked this book a lot and look forward to more in this series.

This book was about a second chance at love. Everyone has their one true love, and after 30 years, Jess comes across her love from high school. It had a great story line and a great ending. This story makes me hope that when I'm older, I will still have the love,hope and happily ever after.This book is a short a refreshing read.

what a beautiful second chance story! you never see characters in their 40's-50's finding their first love and having a chance to rekindle their relationship. they had such a great dynamics and the characters were beautifully written. this story flowed very nice and i cannot wait to read more from this author!

Loved this story. It is all about second chances and involves an older couple in their 50s. Which by the way I absolutely loved. Loved that they knew what they wanted and had maturity in going after what they wanted.

I am so glad that I took a chance with this book. Oh my goodness this was exactly what I needed. Short and sweet, Mayra Statham’s Longing For You will have you seeing hearts all over the place. I absolutely loved every minute of Jess and Scott’s story. A book that will win over every second chance romance fanatics. For me, what really made this different from the numerous others out there are the characters ages. Both in their late fifties, Ms. Statham truly makes you believe that it’s never too late to find true love, even if that means reconnecting with an old love that has never quite left you decades after.
This is my first book from this author and it surely won’t be my last. I enjoyed her writing style which held my interest throughout the entire time I was reading. The characters were completely likeable, you can’t help but be drawn to them. I loved that Jess' vulnerability came off as being more brave than not. She had such a courageous and positive spirit that I wish I will find as I age. Self-assured without being overtly too confident, she made me believe that age is nothing but a number. Both Scott and Jess actually made me feel this way and Scott… Oh goodness this guy was so swoon worthy!!! I had a mad, mad crush on him and man, did it make me feel like I suddenly had a “daddy complex.” I loved how he looked at Jessie and loved how he felt about her. This is the first book in Mayra Statham's new series Never Too Late . And, what a great start it is. Only Mayra can make me swoon over a guy who's that much older then me. But, not only has she done it once but twice now.
Jess Logan and Scott Kostas were in love. Yes, they had their ups and their relationship wasn't perfect. But, Jess and Scott loved each other and wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Until somebody interfered and they broke up.
For the next thirty years they are still thinking and wondering what happened to the other one. Jess and Scott never got over each other. But, they did manage to move on and get married. Now, they are divorced and both have 2 kids. Scott has 2 girls and Jess has one of each. Both their marriages ended for different reasons. Scott's ex is a miserable person who likes making his life miserable. Jess still has a great relationship with her ex.
Nether one of them ever expected to seeing each other again. That was until they have to go out to lunch. Scott's daughter Chloe wants him to meet her boyfriend's parents. This was such a beautiful second chance romance. It was like watching 2 people fall in love for the first time. Except they never fell out of love to begin with. I am looking forward to the rest of this short story novella series.

To forgive or not to forgive... that is the question.
I'm a sucker for a good second chance story. I love them. All those old feelings you had start to come back to you. You remember all the good times you had with each other. Mostly forgetting about all the bad times too. It's the ultimate roller coaster ride!
This book had it all! I felt for Jess. A couple of times I even got a little teary-eyed. It was hard to read. The way Scott ended things was so bad. And it certainly left a mark on Jess. I don't even think I could have moved past it.
I had a love hate thing going on with Scott. I mean... so much missed time between them. So many missed out memories. All that time that could have been spent together. It was hard for me to let that all go.
I wanted Jess to demand answers from Scott in the beginning. I felt she deserved that. I wanted her to not give in so easily.
But that's how I would have handled things.
This book certainly has you thinking about all the mistakes you make as a young adult. You really don't know the ramifications of your actions. Those actions make life changes. I felt Scott should have told Jess. And saved them from all those years apart.
It's been a while since I read a book that touched me in this way. I really enjoyed it. I'm extremely happy with the ending.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Scott is a divorced father of two. His ex is a nutjob who made his life miserable while they were together and sometimes since then. He's never gotten over Jess, he did what he thought was best but she's always been in the back of his mind as the one that got away.
Jess' son Drew is an amazing young man, he has an equally amazing girlfriend, Chloe, who he intends to ask to marry him so the meet the parents luncheon is in order.
Jess and Scott are floored upon seeing each other again.
Thirty years later do these two people have a shot at getting back what they had so long ago. There are obstacles to overcome but with a little faith true love can conquer all.
I fell in love with the characters and story early on, just a couple chapters hooked me. Longing for You has made me a Mayra Statham fan, I can't wait to read more from her.

This is one of those times where I get a bit excited about finding a new author. Mayra Stratham contacted me to review and promo one of her books and I decided to give it a go. I came away delightfully surprised. Here story was cute, easy to read, easy to love, and not full of a lot of angst. I actually started this book one afternoon and finished it within an hour. It's short novella and one that all romance lovers will enjoy.
I found one of the most interesting parts of the story is that this is like the other side of the "step-romance" genre that seems to be a big hit right now. What about the Parents that are getting together? Their in love just as much as there children are. So what about them? But mostly this is a second chance romance, I just found the above aspect to be an interesting part of the story too.
If your looking for something fast to read that's sweet, cute, and a wee bit steamy this is a perfect choice!

I absolutely fell in love with this book!!! I couldn't read fast enough to find out how it ended...yet I wanted to read slowly for it not to be over. So thankful to have found this author!!!

Scott and Jess old boyfriend and girlfriend. Split up only to reconnect when Jess's son was going to marry Scott's daughter. They had no clue until a dinner at which they "met" each other. It was really great to see these two reconnect their friendship. Mayra showed that you don't have to fight things alone that you will have your friends and family by your side as long as you ask them for it. I loved this love story. You could connect with the story and felt as if you were in the story. One things I really look for and love in a book is when you can connect with what you are reading. I can't wait to read more of this series.

I am a huge fan of Mayra's and when I was offered an opportunity to read her newest series, I jumped all over it. I absolutely fell in love with the book. It made me laugh, cry, and cheer for love finding its way back. I love a second chance romance and this story did not disappoint one bit. I was enthralled from page one to the end. I couldn't put the book down once I started!
If you are looking for a sweet, second chance romance with some hot steamy parts this is the story for you. I can not wait to see the next installment in the series. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, its just that good!

This book is a story that proves love has truly has NO AGE LIMIT!
Jess and Scott were each other's first loves, the one who got away...brought together thirty-five years later by their children. Together they face various obstacles to rediscover one another and the love they once shared. It was sweet, sexy and full of real life emotion. Truly touching to see an author who believes you're never too old to find love and write about it.
It was well written, well edited and graciously done. Bravo!

Jess's son wants his parents to meet his girlfriend Chloe's parents. Jess is divorced and her ex husband had re-married. Jess ends up going to meet the parents by herself and she is quite shocked to see her former boyfriend from thirty years ago that she never forgot. Scott is now divorced too. Neither of them forgot the love that they shared and it affected every relationship that they were in. Now they finally have a chance to re-connect and see if the fires are still burning between them. This is a great story about second chances for love and that it is never too late.
