A fireman sent on a call to rescue a kitty from a tree. When he gets there? Well, turns out the little kitty is a cougar and...his mate. Mmhm.
Damon is such a sweet bear. He knows Zara's feeling down about the holidays since her brother is snowed in at an airport and can't get home so he takes her on a road trip to pick him up. They were good together. Things heat up and they have a nice trip.
A Christmas quickie was had. But they decide to keep each other. Aws!

All in all, I enjoyed all three novellas. They were slightly simplistic and there were some editing issues, though. If you read them all in one go there's a lot of repetition from one to the next since they all happen at the same time and scenes overlap. But for a steamy shot of Christmas fun...they're an entertaining trio.

I don't know why I am so addicted to these instalove bear shifter novellas, but I am. They have very little complexity in characters, very little to zero angst but are so adorable and fun to read. And they're super short too. When I'm looking for a novel/novella I can read in couple of hours, these types are some of my first choices.
"Christmas Catastrophe" is the second in this series of three. It is also the second book I have read by this author. Because this is such a short story (about 91 pages), I won't give away too many details in my review.
Damon is a sexy bear shifter; middle brother of three and a firefighter in the town of Bear Bluff. Damon is lonely and has been longing to find his mate. No other woman will do. His loneness is especially poignant this holiday time of the year. But lucky for Damon, his next rescue mission will gift him an early Christmas present.
Zara is a cougar shifter. She lives in a small town outside of Bear Bluff, a little farther up the mountain in Cougar Ridge. Lucky, not too far from Bear Bluff. When the services of the Bear Bluff fire department are called to Cougar Ridge to help Zara rescue her nephew, she discovers that everything about her current way of life is about to change.
Damon and Zara have to deal with a small adventure before their HEA. I liked both of these characters. And even though the story is predictable, this was a light and fun read, perfect for the Christmas holiday. I truly enjoyed it.
Now on to read how the last brother finds his happily ever after.

I enjoyed this book, I loved the connection between Damon and Zara. I loved how with the idea from Damon’s Fire Chief that they drive and get Zara’s brother Logan home to Cougar Ridge for Christmas and making her nephew Robbie’s Christmas wish come true and therefore the reason he climbed up to the top of the town Christmas Tree to touch the Star to make his wish and then got stuck and that’s how Damon and Zara met. I thought it was a great idea that Damon came up with on how to bring tourism to Cougar Ridge by creating a destination for Shifters who want to be able to he open with their animal side and not having to worry about someone seeing them. It will create jobs in town instead of a lot of the men have to leave to make ends meat to support their families. I’m looking forward to reading the final book in the series as Declan finds his happily ever after. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

Memo to self - when I write my second short Christmas Shifter romance I will not re-use the starting chapter from the first book almost word for word.
Of course, when you consider that I have never written a novel, that's a big ask!
But it is annoying when an author lazily lifts old material - readers have memories!

Zara the cougar shifter is sad without a mate, sad for the townsfolk whose economy is failing and people like her brother have to leave and work far away, sad for her family because her brother is stranded at the airport and won't make it home in time for Christmas. Damon the bear shifter firefighter is unhappy as are his brothers because they have not found their mates. Then his crew gets called out to the next town to rescue a six year old and a cougar from the town Christmas tree. Of course the cougar is Zara, his fated mate. There's lots more to the story, but you'll have to read it to find out more!

Brilliant Series
Christmas Catastrophe (Christmas Bear Brothers Book 2) by Harmony Raines. Fireman and bear shifter Damon knew he’d found his mate when he saw Zara, a cougar shifter, stuck up a tree. She’d gone up after her 6 year old nephew who’d climbed up to the star to wish his dad could get home for Christmas. His dad was stuck at an airport be cause the weather had grounded all flights. Damon’s crew suggested he drove to the airport to get the father as a surprise for the wee boy.

Demos is a bear shifter working as a firefighter in Bear Bluff, when he and his crew are called to Cougar town to rescue a small child stuck in the top of a tree. The last thing he was expecting was to come face to face with his fated mate. And that his fated mate, a cougar, would be up a tree. Really lovely read with not major conflicts apart from the fact that Damon and Zara will come together to make a special Christmas wish come true. Highly recommended

Really liked this story. Kudos to Harmony for creating characters where they were both strong and leaders in their own right. I loved the caring and concern the H/h had for others while having time to discover what being mates was all about.

Damon is spending the Christmas holiday working at the firestation. He’s unmated so it’s no problem for him to do these shifts and let his married co-workers spend time with their families. One day he hopes to have a family of his own to protect and love on holidays and every other day of the year. But right now, he’s on duty when the call comes in from nearby Cougar Ridge of a small boy and cat stuck in a tree. A cat? Well, it’s the little boy that has their attention so they make the trip over the mountain to the rescue.
Zara is not very happy with her young nephew, Robbie who is halfway up the town’s huge Christmas tree. He’s trying to reach the star on top in order to make a wish as his father told him was possible. Robbie might be a cougar shifter cub, but he hasn’t shifted yet and this tree is no easy climb for a small boy who is determined to make it to the top. Zara shifts to her cat and begins to make the climb. She knows she can’t get to him, the tree won’t hold her that high up, but at least she can be near and try her best to catch him should he fall. As she hears the sirens in the distance she knows help is at hand.
What she didn’t expect was to scent her mate the moment he stepped off of the fire truck… or what that would mean to the future of Cougar Ridge.
Cougar Ridge is a Shifter town, full of Shifters who have no interest in keeping what they are hidden from human view. And as a result this is also a dying town as businesses close down and the men are going off the mountain to other towns or cities for work to support their families. This is where Robbie’s dad is right now. Trying to get home to his family when a blizzard has shut down the airports and making Robbie’s Christmas wish a very difficult job to fulfill.
Christmas Catastrophe is a charming, totally sexy tale of two mates and the lengths they will go to in order to make a Christmas wish come true. Zara is the daughter of the mayor of Cougar Ridge and fully expects to take over her father’s role one day. How is she supposed to fit her bear shifter mate into that plan?
With some fast thinking, some serious bonding and the determination to make their mating work for everyone – Damon and Zara will find their way to happiness in an unusual way. And for more, you’re going to have to read Christmas Catastrophe. I adore this series. It’s fast paced, satisfying and entertaining. When Harmony Raines writes a book you know from the very beginning that you will not be putting the book down. She starts the book with something that peak your interest then before you know it you are hooked. her books are plotted uniquely to keep you interested and the story will unfold in a surprisingly manner.
Damon is a fire fighter in Bear Bluff, where is brother Declan is the Sheriff, and his other brother Dermont is a paramedic. They are all gathered at the restaurant trying hard not to be Scrooges and hoping for their Christmas Miracle of finding their mates. What Damon didn't know was that a call for the Fire Department was going to lead him straight to his own Christmas Miracle in Cougar Ridge and that Santa was going to deliver his Christmas in the form of curvy cougar shifter Zara.
Zara is the daughter of the leader of Cougar Ridge and she isn't quite feeling the Christmas spirit because Cougar Ridge is dying out and she is missing her brother Logan. She follows her nephew Robbie up the town tree to make a Christmas wish on the star at the top of the tree so that he dad could make it home for Christmas.
Because Robbie is stuck in the tree Zara's mate walks into her life and turns her world upside down. The two of them work hard to make this the best Christmas ever.

In the beginning, the brothers are having a drink being all bah humbug, when they decide to make a pact, by the same time next year, they would all have mates and be on their way to having their own families. In book one, this has started to come true. I borrowed this book for an honest review.
Damon and his engine crew have been called to Cougar Bluff to rescue a six year old cat from a Christmas tree. When they get there, Damon sees a female adult cat part way up, and she is his mate. Kristy, a firefighter, leaves Damon to his mate and goes up the ladder for Robbie. Robbie had gone to the top to make a wish on the magical star at the top. He wants his father home for Christmas. Zara leaves him with his mom.
Zara and Damon decided to go for a run. She is very nervous, so Damon gives her some space and goes and gets his truck. He comes back with a marvelous idea.

Damon is ready to find his mate and settle down. He wants the family, the cubs, the white picket fence...the whole 10 yards. Year after year he volunteers to work during the holidays to give those with families a chance to spend them together.
When the fire department is called to get a cat out of a tree, he never imagined he'd be saving his mate. But this Christmas holiday he'll be doing more than saving his mate, he'll do his best to make her nephew's Christmas wish come true.

Damon has caught his Cat by the tail.
Damon is still feeling depressed about the fact that it is Christmas and he is still all alone...no mate. Zara is trying to rescue her nephew from the tree before he gets hurt really bad. When the see each other, they know they have finally found their mates. Damon will do anything to help Zara and her family.

A Touching Christmas Story
Damon and Sara's Christmas story was very nice. In this second short story in the Christmas Bear Series Damon also finally finds his mate, a Cougar Shifter. They set out to make some Christmas wishes come true and to b ring hope to others.

The author knows how to write a fantastic book with awesome characters. Each of the brothers found their mates and they all had their happily ever after. A fantastic Christmas story and highly recommended. Please keep them coming, your books are awesome.
