But, a growing hate between his right hand and his worker, was about to turn his world upside down and threaten to destroy everything he'd work so hard to protect.Ashanti was about to find out just what Rasheed really was about and the company he kept...
I can’t say this was the worse but it was really close to it. Mainly because it just didn’t make sense on top of the errors combined with what seemed like the mind of a teenager. I mean, you tapping phones but anyone can walk up and hear a conversation through the window. There’s no structure to this and it just seems to jump from one thing to another. This seems to be another crapper out of Shan house, the least the author can do is read Rozalyn series to help. If that doesn’t work try Latrivia Nelson, Medlov series, or Taz Will STL314 series or Tremayne Johnson, King series.
I started this book and actually thought that it would be a really good read. Somewhere along the way the author lost me. First of all the story was too fast paced. By the time you attempted to relax and enjoy a certain scene or aspect of the book, the author was jumping to the next. The emotions that should have been invoked because of what was happening just wasn't there for me. I was never able to become fully vested in the characters. I don't think this author is without talent I just felt an overall sense of urgency throughout the book and as a result that bled through the pages more so than anything else. The characters responses to certain events were inauthentic. For example Devon betrayed the group and the only thing that happened to him was he was demoted but he was still a part of the crew???? Really!!!! Then ultimately he betrayed the crew again which resulted in his death and they were looking to avenge his death on some loyalty to my fallen homie kick????? Also Diamond's reaction to Devon's death was baffling. She had been cheating with Keon for at least 3 months, longer if you count the flirtation that they engaged before Dior was born, but when he dies she is durn near suicidal?? I know she still would be hurt but to this degree that she is saying she loved him and she had already said she didn't and had never stopped loving Keon. There were several other examples but I am sure you can get the gist of what I am trying to say. I see the potential in this book but unfortunately it just didn't do much for me. As always Ms. Ferrell don't be discouraged what didn't work for me may work wonders for the next person.
