I love family first and foremost, which is why writing family sagas and stories that involve family is so much fun. Maybe you can tell that from my books since they always feature the warmth and joy and ridiculousness that comes from having a close-knit family.

I also love animals and have taken in rescue dogs and cats and fostered dogs for the local animal shelter.

And of course, I love writing. All I need is a functioning brain (batteries not included), a pen, and paper, and I can write anywhere. Please don’t let a conversation with me lag because my imagination takes over and I. Am. Checked. Out!

USA Today bestselling author, Day Leclaire is the author of more than 60 novels and has received an impressive eleven nominations for the romance industry's most prestigious award, Romance Writers of America RITA© Award. Day lives in Charlotte, NC and spends her days obsessively writing while vaguely remembering to pay attention to her adorable husband, busy son and daughter-in-law, two tiny grandchildren, and two even tinier Teddy Bear dogs. Not to mention a whole lot of dust!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my books. If you'd leave a review, I'd very much appreciate it. Authors are dependent on reviews in order to obtain ads and garner new readers. I love hearing from my readers. For a personal response, please contact me at Day@DayLeclaire.com.

A second chance story. The H is a besotted alpha male. The beginning scenes of the book in which she is so feisty and shoots with a rifle near his feet to try and scare him away from her is gold. A feel-good romance.

Leih was facing a whole firm that was insistent in having her beloved ranch. In order to protect her dear grandmother and the ranch, she advertised for a husband because the only way to guarantee a bank loan is when the ranch is managed by a man! To her shock, Hunter Pryde applied for the position. He was her former lover who left her 8 years ago.

A very sweet romantic story. I loved it.

Hunter and Leah

A lovely novel! Hunter and Leah have History. When Leah needs help and advertises for a husband, Hunter does come to her rescue. A modern day take on the mail order spouse story and a very good take at that! Just one question, who is the elderly gentleman asking about Hunter?

Leah is going to lose her ranch and so puts an ad in a newspaper for a husband. Enter Hunter Pryde - a beau from 8 years ago. The entire plot hangs on who Hunter Pryde has become. The secrecy is silly and in the end I didn’t get all the information that I wanted.

What an awesome book. I really enjoyed this storyline. ... very glad I happened to pick this book up and read the synopsis ... spiked my interest .

Great introduction: Prologue !
very romantic ... emotional... loved the humour , suspense and mystery to what is really going ... with a surprise, action packed life on a ranch . sensitive issues.
Perfect closing: Prologue !
Sigh... sigh ...

Ranch lady: Spunky, determined and lovable, loyal Leah Hampton.
Proud, determined, industrious, clever .... with heart Hunter Pryde.
Wonderful setting for this Ranch romance and all interacting characters of the storyline.

This is one of Leclaire's older titles, but it was very entertaining. The tension between Leah and Hunter is well set. I do wish Leah was not so wishy-washy in some of the scenes. That make her harder to like throughout the story. Hunter, however, is all ALPHA male. He could storm my front porch any time.

I can't remember a book I have disliked more than this - A heroine with no spinal column or pride. A hero with no sense of remorse or conscience. The female protagonist behaves as if she deserves all the bad things and betrayal coming her way. True, the hero had some raw deals in the beginning, but his quest for revenge paints him in a very nasty light!
