This is a relatively obscure book by a student who was involved in organizing the Vietnam Moratorium Committe's actions on a national level and as head of the New England chapter of the VMC. Unlike many accounts on the topic of the peace movement, this was written shortly after the events of 1969 and 1970. I could really relate to the author's struggles between his desire to end the war in Vietnam and his antipathy to the factions who wanted to protest in a violent way. Ultimately, he began to wonder if all efforts were in vain. By the end of the book, he was trying to find a way to promote peace that could be long-lasting and effective. I hope he found a way.
