Rate this book
True Interviews on the Edge of Science, Technology, and Consciousness looks at the wild changes that may be coming to the human species during the 21st Century. In a series of interviews, author/host RU Sirius explores a series of (r)evolutions in disciplines ranging from the evolution of clean energy to the possibilities of endless neurological ecstasy; from open-source free access to nearly everything under the sun to self-directed biotechnological evolution; from psychedelic culture mash-ups to the possibilities of a technological singularity that alters not only humanity but the entire universe.

This was one of the more forward thinking books that I've come across in the last decade, and it is nearly a decade old now.

There are some plot holes and trends that have changed since it was published, but nevertheless, there are a lot of exploratory futuristic, yet often realistic outlooks given in various interviews.

The first section is a little drab compared to the last 3 sections, which are well worth the book's cost!

Highly recommended.. even if you don't agree with it, it makes you ponder your stance on all the issues brought up by R.U. & his interviewees.

As someone who's kept an eye on scientific development for most of his life the chapters on the hard sciences and engineering just seemed like more of the same: "blah blah blah nanotech. blah blah blah cyborgs"

But I really liked the chapters on legal and cultural issues and the interview with Siva Vaidhyanathan was especially good (Hi Nani!).
