Rate this book
Bound by a dark enchantment, only an elemental flame can light the way.
Vengeance
Forged in rage and sorrow, a dark witch’s spell travels down her ancestral line to Violet Levina. Enchanted with the power of the entire Electromagnetic spectrum—microwaves, gamma rays, radio waves, Violet is cursed with limitless energy and the obligation to destroy an insidious creature composed of dark matter.
Justice
For over five hundred years, Flint has served as Fire, aiding Earth’s environment and its people as one of four Elementals. Yet only once in his long existence has he been burned. A flaming redhead ignites the embers of his heart, but he finds her resistant to the heat building between them.
Illumination
Knowing she must fulfill her destiny, Violet travels to her home in Ireland, accompanied by the fiery Elemental. Not fooled by his charms and brazen demeanor, Violet wishes only to shield him from the coming battle, but can’t deny the flames of desire flickering when she is at his side.
Love
While standing together against unrelenting adversaries, false friends, family betrayals, and an underlying seed of darkness, they must burn bright, or the ruthless power behind the ancient spell will turn everything to ash.

With Flint as her beacon in a field of darkness, Violet will discover that love holds the most powerful magic of all.

Fire’s Field is the second book in The Elementals Series by Jillian Jacobs. The book can be considered as standalone but there are some references to the first book that new readers might not understand well. If you haven’t read the first book, Water’s Threshold, I suggest you read it first to make reading Fire’s Field more enjoyable.

Fire’s Field features the love story of Flint and Violet. They were both introduced in the first book of the series, Water’s Threshold. Flint is the fire elemental who, together with earth, wind, water, and Mother Nature protects the world from destruction. In the book he was portrayed as a happy go lucky guy flirting his way from one girl to another. That is, until he met Violet. The moment he sees violet he knew that she’s different and that she might just be the one for him. Violet is a witch, and a cursed one, at that. The 25th daughter in the line of witches, she was destined to stop Quint, the dark matter incarnate and the main antagonist in the series. Knowing her fate, she dedicated her life to science and shunned human relationships because she believed that her life is fleeting and she won’t survive the battle ahead. Will Flint be able to pass through Violet’s defenses and show her that her true destiny is with him? And that love can change her fate? Read the book to find out!

I love paranormal romance mixed with science. Jillian Jacobs made an awesome job mixing the two in this series. I really enjoyed the bits and pieces of science facts and trivia that goes out of Violet’s mouth when she’s nervous. What can I say? I’m a trivia geek myself. :D One more thing I loved about this series is the idea of peri-mortals. The elementals are not true immortals. They can be killed but they can live for eternity. They can recuperate from injuries by charging in their elements. In Flint’s case, volcanoes or fire. And they can retire if they choose to. When they decide to retire they go back to being normal and forget most of their life as elementals. And a new one will be chosen to take their place. I haven’t read anything about peri-mortals before so I find the idea intriguing.

If you love paranormal romance I'm seriously recommending Fire's Field to you. The story is great and the romance is hot yet not that explicit so it can be read by ages 16 and up. I'm giving the book 4 Fairy Wings because of the great story and its awesome characters!

Violet is the twenty-fifth daughter in the line of witches, prophesized to eventually stop the darkest of all villains—Quint, the personification of Dark Matter. After her mother got addicted to the high feeling magic brought and then the high from substances of any kind, Violet swore off magic and dove into science. But determination alone can’t stop her ancestor’s spell and the destiny she’s meant for. Fortunately Violet has more than determination—she has Flint, the Fire Elemental on her side. And he isn’t about to let a little thing like destiny take away what’s his, even if it means staring Death straight in the face.

Fire’s Field is a paranormal romance by Jillian Jacobs set in a unique paranormal world where Elementals protect the world and their elements for Mother Nature. Unlike many books with elemental magic, Ms. Jacobs’s universe only has one “peri-mortal” figure responsible for each element. These elementals are kind of like the North Wind—the personification of the element—except the position is one that changes over time when one elemental falls or decides to retire.

This story features Flint, a guy made of pure fire who recharges his mojo (life force) in active volcanoes. But he wasn’t always supernatural. Once he was a blacksmith’s son. Unlike him, Violet has always been supernatural. Her power is over the spectrum, with the ability to harness radiation and microwaves…all harmful stuff to humans. And definitely harmful to evil baddie Quint and all of the “seeds” he’s planted in minions across the globe. They all want Violet because Quint needs a vessel and no one else is powerful enough to host him. Add in a crazy German dude who wants to build the perfect super soldier, Flint’s Elemental brothers and sister, and you’ve got an action-packed book featuring love among ancient stones and a trip across Britain.

If you’re just starting off with this series, you might want to check out the first book, Water’s Threshold or you’ll be missing some key action and character introductions. But if you start with this one, you won’t be so lost that you won’t be able to figure it out.

So…if you like your males Alpha and almost immortal? Check this one out!

Flint is the elemental fire
Violet, aka gamma girl, is girl who can use the earth's magnetic field and is a witch.
Together along with the other elementals, Earth - Terran, Air-Nodin, and Water - Maya they are the only people who can save the Earth and Humans from Quint, evilness that is dark matter.
Elementals are peri mortal, which means they can be hurt or killed and have to rejuvenate in their element.
Violet has believed all her life, because of a spell from her ancestors, that she is the only one that can kind Quint and when she does she'll die.
Flint knew as soon as he saw her she belonged to him, but she was not gonna go easily.
The scenes with Violet and Flint are sweet and funny. You can see that after all his years on Earth, Flint has found his heart and when they tease each other you can see that Violet is opening her heart to him.
Jacobs does a good job in showing the elementals, well in their element. Seeing how Flint controls fire and Violet uses the magnetic field to produce the different Rays of the microwave spectrum is awesome.
Will Violet defeat Quint and die? Will Flint let her go? You have to read this story to find out, you won't regret it.

Fantastic and fast paced Paranormal Romance!!

I love everything involving Mother Nature and the Elements, and Fire is my favorite one, so this book is for me a winner.

Flint, representing Fire, and Violet, enchanted with the power of the Electromagnetic spectrum, are that, a full of energy, light, heat, chemistry and explosive couple, embarked together in a journey against a dark and evil enemy, who is Violet's destiny to destroy or be destroyed by him. But that's not her only problem, our hot Flint is trying, by all means, to sparkle her heart with love, will she let her barriers down and allow romance in her life? Love conquers all, doesn't it?
The story is full of magic, love, betrayal, good - evil fights, action, great dialogues, complex characters, funny moments and a lot of heat!!

Highly recommended to Paranormal/Romance/Sci Fi readers.

This is a story about the elements: water, fire, air and earth, and Jillian brings these elements to life with characters who each embody one of the elements and their battle to contain evil dark matter. This may sound way too scientific, but it definitely is not. There is also romance, suspense, betrayal, intrigue, it's action packed and kept me guessing until the climatic ending.

I love the way Jillian characters are dedicated to each other and their joint effort to defeat evil Quint, who uses dark matter to try to conquer the world. Flint, whose life source is "fire" falls in love with Violet, who has electromagnetic powers and thinks she alone has to defeat Quint. But, as the drama plays out Flint must show Violet how to love and accept that she needs him as much as he needs her.

I was given this ARC for an honest review. Fire's Field is book two in the Elemental series by Jillian Jacobs. This story was a great addition to the first book. I couldn't put this book down till I got the end of the story. Jillian Jacobs captivated me to each page. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
Fire's Field is the story of Violet and Flint. Violet is a powerful witch and the obsession of Flint. Violet is always running from him because she has a prophecy to fulfill. Flint is the fire elemental and is in pursuit of Violet. Flint knows that the elementals need Violet to help fight the evil that threatens the Earth.
Flint has fallen in love with Violet and Violet has fallen for Flint. They are meant to fight side by side and be together.
I give Fire's Field 5 stars and would recommend this series to anyone who loves paranormal romances.

Fire’s Field is the second installment in the Elemental Series. Jillian Jacobs takes the reader on a roller coaster ride featuring the highs and lows of main characters, Violet and Flint. This story reads like a must see part two in an epic mini series but isn’t too big to eclipse the simple love story between Violet and Flint. The way the compelling long ago curse is woven through the story as Violet's driving force really hooked me. I also enjoyed the tidbits of scientific and historical lessons sprinkled throughout the book. I don’t normally read paranormal but I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.

Violet is the 25th daughter in a line of witches cursed to battle Quinn the evil one. Untrusting of magic Violet dedicates herself to science. Flint is the element of fire. He wants to help her so many ways. But will she let him. I like the way the elements are embodied within people, whose personalities are reflected in their element. I didn't absolutely love this story, but it did make me want to know how it was going to end and to peak my interest in what is coming in the next book.
