I really enjoyed this! It's about a couple of guys who are paranormal investigators. They are going it rogue because they were fired from the "Department". One of them is a human fused with a demon and the other may not be all human either. The plot is pretty involved with a lot of bad guys, both the other side and traitors within the organisation. The way it plays out it feels like the set-up for a continuing story where these two will set up as private investigators. The book is for a mature audience with violence and very crude language while on the other hand, it doesn't take itself seriously. It's just as much humour & satire of the genre as it is a good story. All the characters are interesting and a lot of backstory is included though there are still unanswered questions. Fun while being an action-packed paranormal.

Clusterf@#k is a wild paranormal ride full of witty banter and stylistic action. Disclaimer: I summarize everything I read for myself because I have very bad memory, and my detail of events/phrasing will not always accurately represent the quality of the book.

It follows Jim and Karl, two private investigators. Karl can transform into a demon. They defeat the wizard and his goatman apprentice, but a government agency steps in and captures the wizard and the PI's. It's revealed the director was an apprentice of the wizard himself once upon a time; and is hunting for an artifact known as the Heart of Baal. He kills the wizard. Jim and Karl escape with the goatman and take him to a pawn shop run by Phoebe, who may have some answers they're looking for. Her shop is also in Simpson, an area run by Ezekiel and his gang of paranormal thugs.

Jim and Karl leave the goatman with Phoebe, hoping to ditch their tails. Ezekiel's men cut a deal with the director to increase their territory space unhindered, and capture Phoebe and the goatman. The director betrays them, learns the Heart of Baal is inside Billy the goatman, kills him, and takes it. Jim and Karl head back to the government HQ after a brush with agents to save Phoebe. Epic fights occur, it's revealed the director made a deal with a demon, and said demon then kills him to take the artifact for himself. Jim manages to steal away the artifact and destroy the demon.

It's set up for more stories in the future, citing the potential return of Baal. My words don't do it justice but this was an incredibly fun and humorous read! I couldn't put it down and I loved every second of it!

This was a fun story with a lot of quips but the world was confusing and the characters weren't very consistent.

The reviews on this were great so I was glad to finally get my copy and jump right in, I was not disappointed! It's a little bizarre (but in a good way), and it's super engrossing and fast paced. Two private investigators, Jim and Karl, find themselves in over their heads after the routine capture of a wizard. Soon they realize that he isn't the most evil thing they'll have to face, gangster vampires, werewolves, and the most corrupt of all... government agents. Thankfully they have the help of an odd little goat-man and Karl is able to transform into a bad ass demon when needed. Jim is just a smart-ass, but he has his moments. Will that be enough to save the day? Full of sarcastic wit and other odd little gems, this is a great new series. I hope there is more to come!
