Did you know that Dr. Bob's sponsee eloped with his daughter? Did you know that during the first Canadian convention in Montreal the nearby Seagram’s Distillery flew its flags at half-mast, or how the Serenity Prayer came into use with AA? You will discover answers to these questions and other stories in Steps & Stories. Sandy’s perspective on the Steps makes clear that from Step One that you are beginning a spiritual journey. His “slide projector” provides wonderful imagery and clarity to Steps 4 through 12. Sandy offers a message of hope in a way which makes the steps accessible to all and spirituality a desirable goal. Sandy's twelve week speaker series given in Tampa in 2007 is now available in print for the first time, was introduced at the International Convention in Atlanta. We are sure it will help you towards Sandy's goal "to be undisturbed". Steps & Stories is the most important book since "A New Pair of Glasses"
Love AA history and this book didn’t disappoint with interesting and cool new factoids (or hagiographic remembrances) and all things early to modern AA. The unexpected gift was a clearer understanding, after nearly 18 years in the program of the primary purpose, the steps, and what’s fundamental to working with others. Took off 1-star for the stream of consciousness writing style but it’s probably more like 4.5-4.75 stars.
