Retribution: Episode One of Season Four: The Kingdom of Ara
Théoden: Tonight is the night I break through Dante's last wall. The one he's been trying to keep fortified as he struggles to resist the temptation of the life I'm offering him. I had planned to enjoy doing this. What I did not plan for, is to discover that a vampire in my city was murdered. I have my best on it and when I find out who crossed me, they will suffer a fate worse than death.
Noel: I had a revelation tonight that literally changed my entire world, and I believe for the better. At least, that's what I hope. On top of that megaton bomb being dropped, I find out that a vampire was killed in Marco's district. I'd hate to be the person Marco is hunting for, the stupid bastard.
Deacon: With my plan fully underway, now it just becomes a game of waiting before I can make another move. But that isn't the most significant thing that's happened today. I've finally discovered my mate's true weakness and it's the same as his greatest strength. His deepest desire and it’s everything I'm capable and willing to fulfill.
Josef: The last thing I needed to hear this morning is that one of my wolves didn't show up for their duty. My wolves don't slack in any way because they know I will not tolerate disobedience. What’s more, when I get wind of a dead body being discovered in the dragons' warehouse district, well, that sort of thing peaks my interest because I don't believe in coincidences.

The level of detailing in the plotting is nothing short of incredible, I don't know how Nicholas Bella keeps up with all the different narratives he has spinning in the air when it come to this series.
While Deacon and his wolves are plotting to undermine and seize control, Theoden is playing a long game with the unwilling help of Josef and his werewolves and the dragons have a whole different reason for getting involved.
The sex, as ever, is creative, erotic, explosive, dangerous, exciting, punishing, painful and controlled.

Oh my f#cking god! The first book in the fourth season is just amazing. With such a steamy start I am slightly afraid what will happen in the next books of this season! Holy hell!! What I loved the most is the additional point of view of Josef. This smart little fella is just so intriguing, I can't wait to read more of him. And Noel, of course. He finally settles and finds his place for sure among his brothers and with his Sire, Theoden. Just awesome. So can't wait to read on!! Great Job, Nicholas!

WHY WHY WHYYYYYY! Why does it have to end. OMG I love this series! And I’m a mess! I’m worrying about this situation. We have Theoden and his sons and all that is going on there. We have an odd sort of love for these monsters. We have Deacon and his newly mated Elijah and the craziness going on there. And then we have Josef! So, Nicholas is getting us all attached to all these characters and I can’t help but think there’s no way everyone makes it out of this alive!? I’m scared! LOL. It’s the best kind of scared though. Don’t misunderstand me. It’s dark, twisted, not for the faint of heart. It’s dark erotica in it’s… well… darkest form!

Opens with yet more unpleasantness with Deacon. Accompanied by his henchman, they take a straight guy against his will. Then there’s his churlish verbiage and insistent attention to females.
Elijah is really trying hard, but his mate is a callous douche. Whether it’s the cringe disciplining of Slade or the groan-worthy push and pull with Elijah, Deacon remains a serious drag on this series.
In later chapters, the pain “play” and water sports render sections nearly unreadable. Deacon has zero chemistry with Elijah, and it’s grating.
Alright…Josef. I admit—when I saw another werewolf POV, I was not exactly pumped. But Josef is surprisingly well-written. He doesn’t have the magnetism of Theoden or the relatability of Noel, but he’s levels and levels above the cretin that is Deacon.
Josef is a demanding power bottom. His POV is hot, and he’s nothing like how Deacon describes him.
Noel and Theoden remain fire together. Excellent detail, and the share of energy is always compelling.
Dante is slowly learning.
Noel is maturing—and he drops a bombshell revelation on Theoden! Theoden is delighted with Noel’s progress, both in general and with Marco’s tutelage.
Noel and Lady Adeline…not good. Marco’s brutality is, for once, welcome.

Had to step away a bit from this one
I feel like the author just wants to be more vulgar with each book and the werewolf element just grossed me out more than anything so far. I still like the story and want to find out if Deacon’s plot will play out like he hopes it does.

I have followed this series from the very first book. Some are my favorite or I like a few more than others. But I have enjoyed ALL of them. Nicholas writes with passion, you can tell by the way he writes he enjoys when he can put pen to paper.
I really like Nicholas' style his foundation he set for himself at writing what HE wants to write and it has been a worldwin of excitement I'm sure for him as much as for fans like me.
I really liked this story because of the interactions, you can see the growth of several characters Noel which was great, Dante' still pulling at the collar so to speak but even he will have to make a lasting choice. Deacon and his mate get down to the nitty gritty of their relationship. Ohhh I'm so NOT happy with Deacon right now.
Its love and passion but its according to Nicholas' style of love and passion, slapped it around with raw and naughty darkness and you have a awesome storyline that will keep you reading until the end.
**Warning Label is there for a reason don't ignore it* if dark, viloent, naughty male on male isnt your thing back away slowly. Otherwise strap in tight and enjoy the ride. Nicholas... I'm missing the Dragon!!!

The anticipation of this book almost killed me. Devoured the entire book 2 immediately after the release. Yes it was that good. But thankfully, I am sated by the awesomeness of this book for probably 1-2 more months before I start craving for Mister Bella's next Masterpiece.
Same old warning: This book is dark and grungy and contains graphic sex and lots of violence. But if you have made it to this season, I'm sure you already knew. This is not your regular puppy play book.
So what's so great about this book? Well, everything! More familial love. More Sexy action. A new point of view from a new character. Mister Bella manages to ramp up the sexiness to a whole new level.
This book is definitely worth the long wait. Like drugs but even better.

Acutely
Whoa Noel told Theo he loved him, shocker.. Theo wanted his children to have their own feelings but to an extent. Noel, Theo and Dante's scene was hot. Deacon missing on Elijah was gross but I'm glad their co section is getting stronger. I'm not sure what to think of Josef yet..

I only have this book 3 stars because more than half the book was about the two timing alpha Deacon who I can't stand! I will continue on with this interesting series to see where it goes and hopefully see Deacon get his punishment for his treachery.

Fun read
Things are getting interesting with Deacon's maneuvering. Niles is now a general but still learning. Theoden's latest sound D ante is coming along in adjusting to his new life. The pace of the the book is moderate to slow moving compared to other books in this series.

All the books/seasons in this series are page turners. I love Theoden and his crew sooo much. Not so much the werewolves, but the series as a whole is just terrific. All must reads for me!
