4 The Sleeping Beauty & the Beast
Gwen was sixteen years old when Xavier had the urge to watch her, especially when she was sleeping at night, through her window. He knew it was wrong, because she was still underage and he was five years older than her, but he couldn't help it. Until one day changed everything and made him break his promise to her, that he would always watch her.
Five years later and Xavier is still living in the wild, trying to get over the facts that happened five years ago. His best friend convinces him that it's time for him to come back in town, so he can find his mate. After all, he's building a house for her and now it's almost ready.
But there's a problem. Gwen is the Alpha's sister and he's overprotective of her, not allowing to anyone to take her from him. He won't let Xavier take her as his mate, but X is willing to fight him to death to get what is rightfully his. No matter what happened in the past, his Sleeping Beauty should be with him.
I liked this one, I think when you've read by this author before, makes you expect certain aspects, like the possessive alpha males, the insane sex drive and unrealistic scenes that would normally make people run for the hills.
Alexa Riley is good in one thing and that's offering sexy, possessive alpha males, who will do everything to get their hands on their girls and the dirty, filthy sex that comes after that. I wish X didn't seem as pussy whiped afterwards, but at the same time it was really cute and funny to watch, so I approve. I loved that the heroine was a strong female shifter and a determined woman. She was a powerful chick and I liked reading about a female who wasn't a doormat or damsel in distress.
PS: I'm so excited about the next story! I loved the fact that her friend was a shifter bear and her name was Winnie, I mean really, loved the idea of it!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVED IT!!! 4.5 STARS
I didn't read the books in order but I can tell you one thing is for sure, this book is sooo much better than the third one, The Lost Slipper. There is so much heartfelt romance between Gwen and Xavier, I'm almost jealous of what they have. The hell I'm saying? Of course I'm freaking jealous but who wouldn't be!!!
Anyway...
Now, I disliked Stone (Gwen's brother and alpha of the pack) in The Lost Slipper BUT in this story I came to actually hate him. He thinks he's so smart and knows what's best for everyone but guess what, you jackass?! YOU ARE WRONG!!! What he did is just unbelievable and I wished he sufferend in his book more!
We haven’t even gotten a chance to talk to each other and it’s like the world is already against us.
Did I mention I love Xavier? Well, he is to die for, seriously! He reminds me just a tinny bit of Zaal from Reap (Scarred Souls #2). After he left his home for a few years, because of his families tragic loss, he's now wilder than ever. He looks more dangerous and animalistic but underneath he's simply one lone wolf in search for his mate. Of course he never dreamed of her being Gwen, his obsession from younger days.
It’s the first morning since I lost everything that I didn’t wake up with a pain in my chest. No, all that greets me today is happiness, a feeling I haven't felt in so long it’s almost foreign.
As for Gwen, she a badass who would do everything for her mate, even going against her own brother, break into his house and free her Xavier. Once they finally get together, the game is on! Holy moly, they are explosive together. They bite, claw and tear at each other, so it's safe to say they have the best sex ever!
I'm so glad I read their story. Their personalities match and it was so much fun seeing their playful sides. They are such an amazing couple and truly deserve their happy ending.
A great read!

We are still in Gray Ridge, Colorado. Xavier is another virgin shifter who is a bit animalistic and wild after he lost his family. He always had a thing for Gwen, Alpha male's sister, but he never expressed his feelings.

3.5 - 4*
I did this the wrong way round I started with book 3 'The Lost Slipper' (obviously the Cinderella one) and enjoyed it so much I decided to read all four.
The problem is I loved Stone and Winnie's book but I didn't like Stone here at all so maybe if I'd read them in the correct order I wouldn't have enjoyed it so much.
Who knows?
Anyway I digress, back to this book and Xavier and Gwen.
Gwen is great, she's the long suffering sister to the alpha. Stone annoys her since he's always so overprotective but Gwen stands her ground. After-all some of that alpha blood that runs through him also runs through her.
Consequently Gwen needs a strong mate and Xavier is about as physically strong as they come. They used to be friends, he used to be obsessed with her to the extent where he even watched her sleep. But his whole world shattered when Hunters killed his mother and sister and Xavier took off, lived as a wolf for years but the scent of his mate brought him back.
I absolutely loved Xavier he was adorable, doing everything possible to be a good mate.

4.5 Sweet X Stars
Beauty Sleeps is a standalone and is part of the Fairytale Shifter series. This is a lose tale of Sleeping Beauty and I really mean loose, but it’s cute regardless.
I have to say, I’m a little in love with Xavier! He is SUPER ADORABLE. Xavier has always had a thing for Gwen, but with the age difference, her being younger (not as of age) has always made X a little uncomfortable. So he leaves her. He doesn’t want to have feeling for someone who could not be his “mate”.

Gwen is as of age and then bam, X feels his mate. He has found her and Gwen is his shifter half.
I love Gwen and X’s chemistry, they are so different that they balance each other perfectly. Gwen is outgoing and friendly, where X is possessive, recluse and very cautious. I love that X speaks a few words, but when he does speak, oh my goodness, it will melt you to butter!
There’s plenty of action, romance and steam. WIN WIN!
The thing about Alexa Riley books, I see them as pure fantasy, an easy smut read that hits all the right spots. I’m a super fan and I’m going to finish out the series.

I enjoyed this second book to the "Fairytale Shifter" series way better than the first. There is a warning from the author at the beginning stating that this is on the sweet side of things...and it is....but I fell in love with Xavier. He is a wolf shifter who has been living in the wild for five years, after he lost his mom and sister to death. When he catches his mate's scent, he finds himself wanting to make his life better so that he can be a good mate. One huge roadblock to claiming her though, is she is the Alpha male's sister, and he feels Xavier is no good for Gwen. What happens when the Alpha male tries to keep them apart??? Nothing good!!!
This story is supposed to loosely take after Sleeping Beauty. Xavier use to watch Gwen sleep when she was a child/teenager...Both of them had no idea at the time that they were mates.. I find these fairy tale books though, truly have not much to do with the original stories. This series is unique in it's own right, and as the series progresses I am more invested in it. There is a ton of sex...which I seem to keep saying!!! I have a one tracked mind at the moment. So let me say again....In this book...THERE IS A TON OF SEX!!! HA HA...and I LOVED it!
So, if you are looking for a sexy read, that is short and light on the angst....this is the book for you. I find sometimes I just want a pure romance/sex book to read. Not one where the couple doesn't know if they want to be together...or one where they are separated for most of the book. This series has been perfect for having the couple find each other, mate, and live HEA....That is just what the doctor ordered for me during my recovery!!! Moving on to book three!!!

Xavier has lived in the woods ever since his mother and sister were killed by hunters. He blamed himself for not being there to save them so he secluded himself away to grieve. But when his friend Dominic found his mate, X realized that he needed to clean up, go back to his home, and take care of himself better so that he will be able to take care of his mate when he finds her. He just didn't expect his mate to turn out to be the young girl he used to watch - also the Alpha's little sister.
Gwen is tired of having an overprotective brother, who's also the Alpha, that doesn't let her live. So when she finally finds her mate and her brother tries to keep him from her she goes crazy and her and X runaway to his house in the woods together. Can he fight the Alpha and keep his Sleeping Beauty?
"And as I watched my beauty sleep, I hoped that one day she would be mine."
X was really cute and I loved how he was so focused on being the best mate possible for Gwen. He came of a little weak at times, but we got to see his alpha side when people were trying to stop him from getting to Gwen.
Gwen was a strong heroine and I liked how she didn't bow down to her brothers commands and wouldn't stay away from her mate. I liked how she took charge and didn't just wait to be told what to do. Truly a worthy mate for X.
As always this AR read was burning hot, and pure smut. There was little story and lots of sexy times, just how I like these books.

This book is surprisingly awesome ! I can remember very well when I read Valiant. I couldn't stop blushing, there're butterflies in my stomach and I felt like I was floating on cloud nine. This book gives me that feeling. It's sweet, hot and snug. Xavier is a possessive man, when he lost his mother and sister, he thought that he couldn't find any happiness in this world until he finds Gwen again. He always knows when he was young that she's the one but he didn't think that she's his mate before that grief consumed him.
It's better than the previous one but it's too short and I want it more. If it's longer than this, I'd give the book 5 stars undoubtedly!

Beauty Sleeps is a purely entertaining book, starring a slightly over-the-top romance, a pack of wolves, great smut and emotional turmoil. Well sometimes, that's all you really need.
Alexa Riley does an amazing job with the sex scenes in this new Sleeping Beauty meets the Beauty and the Beast fairy-tale interpenetration and even though this is not as light as some of her previous works you can still have much fun as a reader.
X and Gwen are a couple meant to be and no-one is going to keep them apart anymore. While she was younger X kept watching her closely and he was ready to make it official. But then his world was torn apart and after the death of his family he couldn't cope with the guilt, so he run away in his wolf form for about five years and then things started looking up when a pack member helps him rebuild his life in order to finally be with his mate. What can go wrong with that?
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
- The cell chapter was amazing.
- Loved the scene in the fair
- At a point i hated her brother.
- I liked Dominic and Ruby.

As promised by Alexa, Beauty Sleeps is delightfully over-the-top and lots of fun—but also, oh-so sweet. Because not only was this book rich with eroticism, it was also deeply sensual with emotions.

So much feeling, packed in between those smut-filled pages...that Alexa Riley pleasantly surprised me, while once again, stealing my heart (and dirty mind) with her wicked writings and lusty, yet lovable, characters.

So there’s this park in which Alexa Riley plays. You know all the players; the over-the-top alphas and the young and luscious virgins. You may even know the game, the game of insta-lust that leads to raw animalistic sex and big badass men being drawn to their knees. But Alexa Riley doesn’t play there anymore. Because Alexa Riley just hit it out of the goddamn park with Beauty Sleeps!
The hotness sizzled and the connection was instant. The desire was raw and animalistic and it lead to some VERY yummy sexy times and romance which was absolutely squee-worthy and bla bla bla…
Let’s talk about Xavier instead. I loved this book so much! Xavier was the sweetest hero I have read in a long time. I loved his thought processes and how literal he was. I also loved how strong and alpha he was. Gwen was a great heroine too- spunky and really good with Xavier. Another hit from Alexa Riley! My only complaint is that I wish it was longer!

Once in awhile, I like to read a shifter PNR book, and let me just say Beauty Sleeps by Alexa Riley was smoking hot!!!!! I just read the prologue and was instantly hooked and was salivating for more when I was done with the book. Who knew shape-shifter romance could be so erotic, hot, sexy and steamy? Well, in the case of Beauty Sleeps, Alexa Riley will have readers howling for more shifter romance if she continues to writes these hot dominant alpha males heroes that you would love to take a bite of.
Since Beauty Sleeps is a short novella, I won't go into much details but I will just say this book has one hot alpha wolf shape-shifter who knew the moment he laid eyes on Gwen, that she was it for him. She was whom he was destined to be with. No ifs, ands, or buts about it Gwen belonged to Xavier. As always, Alexa Riley delivers a sexy erotic romance that will have readers howling for more. I was so excited to read their story and I loved it! I loved how possessive they were to each other and how they fought for each other.
The story is about Xavier and Gwen, both wolf shifters.
He's been watching her for years and he didn't know why. He said he'll always watch her but she didn't see him again after that day.
He left and lived in the woods after his mother and sister were killed by hunters. He's blaming himself for their death thinking he failed to protect them.
After five years, Dominic (book 1 H) talked to him, he came back and started to fix his house and wanted to be the best for his mate.
He was so happy to find her but the alpha who's also her brother tried to keep them apart. I have to say, I don't like Stone in this book. I get him but I still don't like what he did.
It has an epilogue.

He didn't afraid with her brother and quickly claimed Gwen when the full moon come. Xavier is a scarred soul and 'innocent'. He always growl and grunt but no bite like a puppy. Yeah, he always follow Gwen around. I liked his possessiveness. He also trying to adapt and understand with Gwen social activity and that what makes me swoon. I liked when Gwen become aggressive with her mate. She's understandable woman also calming Xavier when he agitated.
Their sexy times burned my eyes pretty bad. There is nothing sweet about it. It was raw and passionate. Although, sometimes they could be a wee bit romantic. It's unbelievable how many they had sex. I think I enjoyed this a lot more because I read about Gwen and Xavier from the previous book. I've always felt bad for X, especially with everything that happened with his life, so I was really happy to see him get the HEA he so desperately needed in Beauty Sleeps.
I love how X strives to please Gwen and worships her as if she's the only thing valuable in the world. He actually reminds me of Rukh from Barbarian Mine--he's uncivilized, wild, and sexually inexperienced. And if you know me, you'd know that I have a soft spot for that type of hero. *drools*
There isn't much to elaborate here. This is an Alexa Riley story, and as such it's supposed to be fast-paced, short and very, very sexy. So sit back, read on, and enjoy.

Another sweet and steamy quick shifter romance
I have really liked this series so far. I love that the shifter men can’t become sexually active until meeting their mate. That made the insta-love much more understandable. The characters were likeable and the plot fast paced and fun. I can't wait for me. I'm also glad it was offered as a kindleunlimited.
