A short story about Davey, a young cowboy on the regional rodeo circuit, who comes to Zuni pueblo in New Mexico to ride broncs and bulls in the local rodeo. That night after the rodeo, he heads out for beer and trouble. He and his rodeo buddies watch a parade of kachina dancers, men of the pueblo dressed like Zuni gods. One well-built kachina in particular, Chop, the Antelope kachina, bringer of rain, takes an interest in Davey. Before the night ends, Davey has to face Chop--and his fears.
