Ocean: Revealing the Secrets of the Deep

Rate this book
From the Publisher From a certain point in outer space, above the pacific Ocean, the Earth appears entirely blue. It is the presence of liquid water in such vast quantities that marks the planet out from its neighbors in the solar system. The oceans spawned the earliest life forms, and they continue to sustain all terrestrial creatures - mankind included. And not simply through the water cycle; the oceans also play a vital role in regulating the Earth's temperature; without them, the planet would be inhospitably hot by day and cold by night.

A fascinating overview of life in the oceans. Written for the scientifically inclined enthusiast (lots of scientific names, which is a good thing for me, maybe not for others). It is surprisingly in-depth but with such a broad topic it inevitably can only leave you wanting more, in the best way possible.

This was a informational journey for me because of all the facts about the ocean. It really went into depth about the ocean from that people could learn more about things they didn't know about the ocean. It would be a great book for those who can understand difficult words such as remarkably. So this book will continue to educate young readers around the world.
