Everly Parker is brazen, headstrong and naive, but she is also stubborn. When faced with the arrogant and obnoxious Luc Christianson, she makes a grave mistake in bargaining against him, but sometimes you just have to take a leap. Luc is all the things you want in the hot male lead – he’s, well, he’s hot. And he can’t seem to resist our protagonist, despite his utter revulsion with himself for putting them both in this situation. He’s conflicted and flawed and loyal and loving… he’s better than he knows he is, and Everly knows it.

This book has surprisingly strong support staff. The ancillary characters in this book – mainly Dolce – are begging for their own voices and they fill the paces in between with humor, friendship and love.

What does all this mean? Well, in short, this book is everything you would want in a fun romantic read. Though the premise is a bit hard to believe, you kinda want to jump a plane to Vegas when you finish, just to be sure. I mean, if Luc Christianson is waiting for me, who is the Lucky Devil afterall? ;)

This book has romance, blood thirsty loan sharks, high stakes gamblers and plenty of action to keep you glued to the pages.

Luc, named after Lucifer tries to live up to his name, but is he truly a bad man?
Everly, nicknamed the Fury (by Luc), is very high spirited, red-haired, and full of life. Very sassy, a good ole-county girl. No one believes that she is not trouble, or doesn't get into trouble, because once she is at Luc's club that girl is always in some sort of trouble.
Never a dull moment in this book, there is always something awesome happening!! I couldn't put it down (when I was able to have reading time).

I was "lucky" enough to get an ARC of this book to review, in exchange for an honest review.

This book is suspenseful and sexy fun at the same time, it’s a love/hate story between two people from completely different backgrounds! I fell in love with Everly and Lucs’ characters from the beginning of the book because of their differences? It will transport you to Vegas and you will want to go there to see if you can find your own love story waiting for you.
Luc is the alpha male of all alpha males. He is dark and dangerous, his name is Lucifer and he tries to live up to that reputation. He doesn’t suffer fools gladly.
Everly is devoted to her younger sister and brother and will do anything to help them. If she wants something, she goes after it what ever the cost. She is stubborn but also very naïve and the combination of the two results in her getting into a situation with Luc that …… well you will just have to read the book to find out about  !
The story will keep you riveted and moves along nicely, it includes the friendships and family relationships between the charaters, so as you get to know Everly and Luc you also learn to love their close companions and through the character development you get to know each person and can relate to them on a human level, with all of their perfections and flaws.
I highly recommend this book, it is a great easy read and I enjoyed every minute of it. You will not be disappointed with Lucky Devil!. I can't wait to see what she Cat Miller writes next.

Passion...Suspense...Loyalty...Addiction...Family Secrets...Vegas Mobsters...Oh My!!!!, November 19, 2015

The tears pooling were no joke, but after rehashing it all in my head over & over there was no doubt that I seriously loved this book!!! These characters are like drugs they're so addicting! Luc has given an all new level to the Love/Hate relationship. Everly stole my breath away. Rourke is a force to be reckoned with. Dolce definitely needs a book of her own! ;) Mills is like the best big brother. His comment while sitting her suitcase down was one of my favorites! That whole scene was just greatness!! But ... Archie and Charlie definitely battled for the win of the hatred award. Maybe we should start a poll for the biggest slime ball. ^_^

If you're into fast paced emotional romances with unforgettable characters then you should definitely snatch this gem up! You won't regret it. ;)
Btw...I love that Miller included the art piece she has talked about forever & has in her home as inspiration. That was a neat touch. Pssstt...You can see the beloved piece of art on her Facebook fan page. ;)

First, I would like to note that 5 stars is pretty huge for me for a romance book. I read a lot of paranormal romance, but more for the paranormal rather than the romance. Most romance books I read I get SUPER picky about. I start actually skipping over sex scenes because it seems like the same sex over and over, or they’re just drawn out to fill pages. But in this case, knowing who the author was, I thought I could definitely give this book a chance, and I was NOT wrong!

I gotta say…Ms. Miller has a perfectly filthy, filthy mind! There were LOTS of sex scenes in this book, and not one was even close to the same. Never was there a time where I cringed, thinking, “Did they really have to use THAT word?” Or “Are they using that word AGAIN? Get creative, already!” Nope. Not in this book. Not once. I skipped over zero words. I was totally entranced the whole time – and that’s just the sexy part!

The rest of the story? *Sigh* It was a perfectly messy, imperfect love story. And when I say ‘perfectly messy’, it’s because real life love stories are never perfect. They get messy, and in cases like Everly and Luc, they start messy…sometimes REALLY messy. And I wasn’t disappointed with a story about a typical bad boy that meets this good girl, falls instantly in love, and decides he doesn’t want to be a bad boy anymore. Nope. Like I said – messy. Their relationship took forever to even become a relationship. We really don’t know until the end if there is anything good that can come of the two of them being together. It was a fantastically fun rollercoaster, filled with a messed up guy, a few no-nonsense women in his life (one a best friend who also became Everly’s friend), and another best friend that didn’t say much, but when he did, you listened.

This book had all the right characters, all the right twists and turns (and there were several scary ones), all the right steamy, STEAMY sex, and every other possible component of a book that would make you fall in love with it. I highly recommend reading it, and may be reading it a second time myself!

What a great love story between two people from two different worlds! Everly and Luc are characters that you fall in love with from the beginning of the book for their differences. The story will keep you riveted and moves along nicely, all of the details are necessary without going over board. I also like the inclusion of the friendships and family relationships within the story, as the reader you are able to get to know Everly and Luc but as well as their closest companions.

One of the best things about reading a Cat Miller book is the character development and how you get to know each person and can relate to them on a human level, with all of their perfections and flaws. It is nice to see a strong female protagonist who may not be worldly figure out her way in a high rolling society and not be deterred by a man

I highly recommend this book based on the character development, the story and the ease of reading! You will be transported to Vegas and or want to hop on a plane to visit to see if you can find your own love story waiting for you. You will not be disappointed with Lucky Devil!

Another amazing book from Cat Miller! Lucky Devil is about Everly Parker, a young woman whose father gambles away her family’s livelihood by risking their family cattle ranch at a Las Vegas casino. Furious with her father, but fiercely protective of her older brother and younger sister, she heads to Las Vegas to get back their cattle ranch. Not knowing how on earth she would accomplish this, she shows up to the Inferno casino where she meets the appropriately named Lucifer Christianson.
This book is Sexy! Definitely not in an over done fashion like most books, where it leaves you thinking "Really?!?!" Although this book is hot and full of twists, the family cattle ranching hits home with me so I was very intrigued with this story and found it very easy to relate to the “do anything for your family” aspect of this story. Everly is a very strong character and you get tied into her fiery personality. Once you think she has a handle on her situation, everything changes once again. Lucky Devil was an exciting stand-alone read without a cliffhanger, even though I would definitely like to read more about Everly and Luc’s story.

Luc Christinson is the king of all things wicked! That is how the blurb starts out for Lucky Devil and let me tell you, it's very true.

Luc is that arrogant, domineering, sexy alpha character that we all love, just enough bad to get your heart racing. He owns a casino, The Inferno Hotel, or Hell as he calls it. Over the years, Luc has become hard and in a town like Vegas when you can loose everything you have to gambling, Luc Christinson doesn't feel sympathy from taking what he's owed.

Everly Parker is a feisty young woman who believes in hard work and protecting her family. She suddenly finds herself fighting for her families cattle ranch after her father has gambled it away. Not one to back down from a challenge she sets out to meet with Luc to try and save the farm. At first glance Luc thinks this will be an easy win for him, but he soon realizes that this fiery redhead with stormy eyes is a lot more than what he expected.

Lucky Devil is a steamy book that, grabs you from the first page and holds you until the end, loved this book.

My rating reflects my feeling that Everly's reaction in their first sexual encounter felt a bit off to me. Yes, the author had shown that there was some attraction on both their parts prior to the wager and her subsequent loss. But it was also clear that she only wagered to save her family, and that she wasn't happy when she lost. So her falling all over him in the hall and just diving right in sexually, without showing mental reservations -- sorry, I couldn't buy that as legit based on what I knew of her to that point. I'd have expected her initial encounter with him to be only due to the wager loss and for him to need to seduce her physically during, with her attraction to him helping pave the way. While I liked her character, I didn't always find her consistent. His actions, on the other hand, were consistent throughout the book based on his personality, his past, and his fear of emotional intimacy and trust issues. Other than my stated issue with Everly, however, Lucky Devil was a quick, enjoyable, satisfying read.

This story had me on an emotional roller coaster from cover to cover! You will have a love/hate relationship with both Luc and Everly so many times your head will spin, in a very fulfilling way!

*CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS*

Yes! I loved the back and forth I felt for the characters! There was great character development and it really was good. I think it might be my favorite of Cat Miller's books!

I hated Luc so many times and loved him again. I hated Everly so many times and then lo ed her again. Great twists and drama with Luc getting kidnapped a couple times, haha. Although I was so nervous during those times. I love him working through all his issues at the end with the Pastor and finally realizing he deserved her love.

Man I did hate him a bunch when he was walking out on her after their wedding, bringing home the other woman, signing the divorce papers, the list goes on. But he really redeemed himself and I just love their story so much! And girl, those Sex scenes, wew! Steamy!

DNF @ 72%

This book was doing okay for me, that was until the Hero cheated on the heroine. Look, I can handle a little cheating since men are dicks anyway but what I hated was how weak the heroine was in taking him back.

The Hero and heroine had an agreement. While they're not actually dating, it was understood that they were exclusive. The Hero knew what he did was wrong.

It's so out of character of her to just take him back. He didn't even grovel! To just be grateful he didn't actually sleep with the O/W. This was the girl who basically sold herself to save her family's ranch. She was headstrong and brave at first. To have her minimized to a weak-willed little girl like that? Who's in need of a male's validation? That's so frustrating.

He was tongue-fucking the other woman. He had his hands on her breasts and ass. So what if he didn't sleep with her? She had to see that with her own eyes and he knew it and slammed the door to her face.

Need I say more?

Can a book be sweet, sexy, anger-inducing, suspenseful and fun at the same time? After reading Lucky Devil, I have learned it can. Luc is the alpha male of all alpha males. He is known as dark and dangerous. His name is Lucifer and he tries to live up to that reputation. What is the one word I would use for Everly? Stubborn. The girl definitely goes after what she wants. However, she is also naïve and ends up in a situation with Luc that you will all need to read to find out about. This is a great story. I absolutely enjoyed every minute of it, as I have all of Cat's books. I can't wait to see what she has next.

This book was ok. In my opinion it was soo rushed. Boom. The contract is signed, then the next time they see each other...IT'S ON! No, not really believable. I'm sorry.

And the third person dual perspective was so weird. We have one chapter in her/his perspective and then literally the next chapter is the exact SAME (previous) chapter (with the exact same dialogue) from the alternating perspective. Why?? IMO this didn't add to the book at all. It just made it seem redundant.

Sorry. This didn't work for me.

What a rollercoaster of emotions!
1 minute I hate Luc then BAM I love him! I think he may be my favorite Cat Miller Character ever. Everly is the girl next door that everyone knows and likes I love that she held her own against Luc..
Rourke and Dulce are amazing characters also and deserve to have their Stories told.
This was an excellent read! I Highly suggest any story Cat Miller Writes!

Adorable story - I really enjoyed the dual POV, and my only "iffy" part of the book is sometimes when the chapter changed to the other character, there was a little overlap. Lovable characters, and fun to read.
