Relates the shocking tale of Charles Cohen, a young Delaware man who seemed to have it all, but who savagely battered his parents to death and then disappeared, only to continue killing in a coast-to-coast crime spree. Original.
Very good true crime that I never would have found if not for the recommendation of a fellow reader. I liked the fact that the author let the reader come to their own conclusions about the main character. It was well written and not filled with trial transcripts, which was great. You follow the evolution of Charlie Cohen before the murders and for years after, and it's just different is all I can say. The only negative to me was you didn't find out from the book what the final outcome of his trial was, but it was easy enough to locate on the internet. This is one I can certainly recommend to other readers of true crime!
Wow. A very interesting story for me. I used to work for Martin Cohen at the Galesburg Mental Health Center. I didn't have one-on-one contacts with him, but I did see him in the halls and in meetings. This book was first published in February, 1994. Someone recommended it to me. Glad I found it, even though it was a very beat up copy. This story is a true accounting of how Martin and Ethel Cohen were murdered by their son, Charles (Charlie) Cohen. After killing them, he tried to hide all over the USA, using different names and committing various crimes to survive. A very interesting accounting of the life of Charlie Cohen.
