A romantic fiction, set in Pakistan at the time when marriages were arranged by a persons grandparents. Saiqa a twenty year old girl, orphaned at a very young age, lives with her grandmother, aunts and uncle in the Palace with the red domes. However, the palace is a hellhole for her as she is mistreated for her parents actions. The only person who cares for her is her caretaker; who is as ugly, as she is loving from inside, her aunt Anjum Ara who lives far away and visits a few times and her uncle Fakhr who doesn't shows her his love openly due to his wife.

Saiqa has a crush on her cousin Rehan, who is her biggest tormentor, but he likes his cousin. Rehan and other children in the palace have been brainwashed to believe that Saiqa's presence is a curse by the superstitious aldults whose hearts burn with the fire of hatred.

The book is written in Urdu with a little advanced vocabulary level. It gets quite emotional near the end.
