It could not be otherwise... the sweetest and perfect thing ever. For those who have read Bastard perfect holiday gift from the author. If you have not already done so, maybe it's time to catch up? It is not hard to fall in love with this book.

When I learned that to the Bastard's book has been added new short story, I go completely crazy. More Carter and Indi? Oh yes! Who does not like to learn more about the characters, in which we fell in love with? It is clear that if we could ask authors to write about them more and more, we would do it.

It's a beautiful story, to which the author add not one but at least two new stories. The birth of baby girl and Christmas story. I think that I never get tired of them.

This novella has everything that was in the long version. And more. It's wonderful love and loving family, but also some difficult times and circumstances. Life itself. It was wonderful to read about how they are doing now as a family. And Carter and kids? Just so adorable, I have no words.

" She’s going to have me wrapped around her little finger just like Indiana does. I’ll be putty in her hands … I’m afraid I already am. "

If you do not know Carter and Indi's story yet, welcome to read my review and full length book - Bastard Review. And if you already have read this, and as much as I like these characters, I do not have to persuade you to read this story. Never too much of Carter.

I LOVED Bastard so now I am the "LUCKIEST BITCH" to get an arc of this book!!

A note from the author Warning: this book contains sexual content, coarse language and some violence. It is recommended for persons over the age of 18.

This had my heart mushy all over again, it's short and sweet and still leaves you craving more..I fell in love with Carter by the end of the first book and yet again he captured all of it this time around.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The past two years I've spent with my soulmate, and my boys...my family..no words

The old Carter it was all about him, this new and improved Carter nothing comes before his family, and this was reinforced more than he was ever prepared for when they were faced with a scare that shook them to the core.

Life is Short

There was heartache looming around the corner I could feel it, then something happened six weeks ago, it brought me to my fucking knees

You barely recognise Carter the Bastard in this book, he's grown up on us when we weren't looking and matured, happily married, beautiful family, thriving businesses, life is good..

My idyllic world, the one I simulataneously lived, loved and feared, started to crumble around me.

I was numb..I was devastated..I was on the verge of losing it

This had me racing through the pages with my heart hammering that all would be ok with Carters small family, then I reached the end and I had another melt down of OMG no this can't be the end, I crave, need, want more these guys are probably my most favourite couple this year so it was a bittersweet moment for me..

Carter found Indiana's bucket list of all the things that she wanted to complete before she died, he especailly paid attention to the few not marked off which got him planning a family vacation..

THINGS I WANT TO DO BEFORE I DIE:
1: Experience a white christmas
2: Marry the man of my dreams
3: Have children
4: Open my own veterinary clinic
5: Build a snowman
6: Go skinny dipping
7: Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge
8: Go snorkelling somewhere tropical
9: Dance in the rain

Carter moves moutains to make all her dreams come true..

This was the hardest review to write without giving too much away with the incident where it rocked Carter to the core..

I fell in love with Carter in Bastard and this novella reminded me of the reasons why I did. Carter would do everything for his wife and his family. He is the perfect husband and father. Now, he did something without telling or asking Indiana and he’s afraid of her reaction. He feels guilty and waits a long time to finally tell her. Indiana knows her husband and immediately knows he’s hiding something. She is afraid that something is wrong and that she will lose him. Carter is her rock and she will always need him, just like Carter needs Indiana like his next breath. When Carter finally tells her his secret, she’s angry and hurt, so Carter has to do some groveling.

I loved reading more about those two. They are a beautiful couple and are perfect for each other. The bonus scene about their first white Christmas was just amazing! Carter would do anything to make his wife happy and he is just adorable with their children! I highly recommend this novella if you loved Bastard, but I wouldn’t read it as a standalone. There are some things mentioned about the first book and I loved finding everything while reading it.

There is also the prologue about the author’s next book, Hooker, at the end. It has nothing to do with Carter or Indiana. It looks, sounds very good and I can’t wait to read it! I hope it comes out very soon.

I did need some more Carter and Indi love before Christmas and this novella made me really happy and warmed up my heart.
In these few pages I fell in love harder with Indi and Carter and all their family members.Carter is still the best guy out there, and even if he makes some decisions without thinking to the consequences you cannot not forgive him.

It's best to read Bastard before reading Luckiest Bastard.....

When J. L. Perry said she had written Luckiest Bastard The Novella I couldn't wait to read it. Who wouldn't want to read more of Carter and Indiana. I absolutely loved it, just like I did Bastard. I love the way Carter loves his family so much and would do anything for them.

I gently received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review.
First of all, this is not a standalone. You have to read Bastard to read Luckiest Bastard. But that’s not the main reason. You have to read Bastard because you have to. Period.
JL Perry was a complete stranger to me until a few months ago when my bestie told me: “you have to read Bastard by JL Perry”. I asked her: “who”? But she told me to read it and I, without a second thought, read it.
When I started reading “Bastard” I never thought I would find such an amazing story. I figured it would be good. But I must confess that I wasn't prepared for what I found. I wasn't prepared to read such a compelling and heartwarming story.
At the end, I was completely surrendered.
This review is not about Bastard, is about the Luckiest Bastard. However, you can’t talk about one and forget about the other.
Carter is back and I couldn't be happier.
Although the story is told in a dual POV again, I think this one is more focused on Carter and his emotions.
Carter and Indi are facing another challenge. And once again, their love is put to test.
Carter, the man, the husband, the father! All facets of the same boy who called himself a Bastard after what he had been through.
I cried while I was reading this book because it brings the best in us. It brings love, hope and faith. It shows us what unconditional love is. It shows us that when the time comes and we have to make decisions, love is selfish. Carter and Indi are the perfect match. They need each other to be full.
The challenge they’re facing now allow us to believe that true love exists and no matter what, love will always prevail.
I loved to know more about them. I loved to know that Carter remained the same, with his dirty filthy mouth and that Indi stood by him, loyal to what she believed was the right thing to do. Their chemistry remains and it made me very happy. Together, they continue their journey, facing maybe the biggest challenge of all: trust. They will have to learn to trust each other again to be complete.
JL Perry presented us with a beautiful gift by giving us the pleasure to revisit Carter & Indi’s world.
The bonus Christmas scene is overwhelming. I found myself crying so much that I had to stop, grab tissues and come back to finish because I couldn’t simply put it down.
Thank you JL Perry for another amazing book and for bringing Carter back.
This book owned its place at the MUST READ shelf and I can’t give it less than 5 stars.

Have you read Bastard from JL Perry, which is a beautiful story about a boy falling for the girl next door but thinking he is not good enough for her?
If so, then you need, and I mean, need to read this novella to round it all off. Firstly, we get some bonus chapters, and finding out that Carter is keeping a secret from Indiana. One that he is having second thoughts about. And we also get to hear about a Christmas wish that Indiana had, and Carter fulfilling that wish.

I love this couple and the way they interact together. The different POV's is always fun for me, I love getting into the character's heads. And getting an insight into their lives from the book to the novella with the kids is just a joy to read. Thank you JL for giving us just that bit more of Carter and Indi to keep us all satisfied.

If you haven't read Bastard from JL, what are you waiting for.........you really need to read that before this novella.

*ARC PROVIDED FOR AN HONEST REVIEW*
Sweet. Thats exactly what I thought after finishing this short read in an hour or two.
It was very lovely. I already fell in love with Carter and Indiana back in Bastard, so it was great to read more. A glimpse into their happy life, despite any problems.
This novella is an invitation to swoon more over Carter. I believe he is really the luckiest bastard among our sexy books heros.
One more time, I enjoyed this novella!!

*On a side note: I loved the name " Indiana " so much because of the bastard novel and novella*

Yet again Carter does what he wants without regard to Indiana's feelings and she forgives him without a hassle. Same as the first book, no need for this to be written when we already know how it's gonna go. Glad to be done with these characters, won't be reading Jax's story. If it's anything like this one, the only thing I can count on is a headache and a waste of time. I'm not taking the risk that I might like it. I'd rather take the chance that I missed out instead of pulling my hair out in frustration if Jax and his partner are just as bad as Indi and Carter. Not worth the risk to me...

Copy received from Hachette Australia for an honest review.

I will tell you right now - this follows on from Ms Perry's book Bastard. I have not read Bastard, however that did not at all stop me from enjoying Luckiest Bastard, and I will be going back to read Bastard in the near future.

It does have spoilers though if you haven't read Bastard.

I adored Carter and Indi's story and what I got to learn of their family. Such a beautiful family. They have their ups and downs like the rest of us (don't you just hate when a book has that perfect family where nothing ever goes wrong - or is that just me??)

I have not read any of Ms Perry's work before (sad isn't it, when I have signed books on myshelves!). I adored her writing style - quick and to the point, flowing well.

There is also a lovely Christmas story at the end of Luckiest Bastard - and it made me want for a White Christmas!

If you have read Bastard, you need to read Luckiest Bastard.

When I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review of this book first I felt honored. I mean who wouldn't a J L Perry book. Then I started to read it. I have read her other books but something about Luckiest Bastard grab a hold of a heart strings and didn't want to let go. You have Carter and Indiana with their children and they truly love each other. But can their love survive the challenges they may face in the future? Carter loves his wife probably more than his own and Indiana feels the same about him. They love their children but Carter worries that can they always have this happily ever after? And Carter soon finds out that it's possible that maybe he may not always have his happily ever after. But you have to ref the book to find out what happens to them and why their happier ever after is in jeopardy. Also included in this book is a wonderful Christmas story about Carters family. I will not give away any of the secrets of this book I will only say that if I read it in only 3 hours then it's a book that I cannot put down. Even through kids screaming they want dinner etc the book was never put down. This is an amazing love story that really pulls at those heart strings and I feel privileged to have been able to read it for the author. I absolutely recommend this book as a one click purchase and or to be placed on you TBR good reads list.

I received an arc for an honest review

I honestly loved bastard so much but OMFG...Luckiest Bastard blew my mind, it was that amazing. Ever read a book and hated to have to review it because you know that whatever you write won't do it justice? Nope? Me either until this book.

I loved reading how much carter grew up as bastard went on, I loved how much his love for Indi could be felt, but in luckiest bastard I was swooning. Yes I cried, I laughed, I felt sadness, happiness, relief but most of all I felt love. I can honestly say I have never read a book that made me feel so connected to the characters.

Okay so to finish this review off I wanted to mention that when I heard this book was coming out, I had my doubts. I hate when authors drag books on and on and I'm sorry but that did cross my mind with this book. Now after finishing the book I hate that I ever felt that. This book was absolutely perfect and needed to be published. It gave Indi and Carter the ending they deserved and answered tiny niggling questions bastard left.

Don't Read This Book Before Reading "Bastard"! You have been warned!

JL Perry is an terrific author. She can write, I mean, an author that can write angst in a few pages and keep you breathless, not knowing what comes next is a great author!

This short story is about Carter and Indi married life, their kids and a huge, huge mistake! But this is Carter and he will do the impossible to make Indi happy, even if that takes them to the other side of the world!

I absolutely loved every single page of this book. It was so good to read about them again and know they are happy after all they went through the first book! Thank you JL Perry!

I was blessed by J.L. Perry to receive an ARC copy of this awesome book.
what can I say about J.L. Perry's book Luckiest Bastard, how about amazing, oh my goodness I was grabbing for the box of tissues I cried tears of frustration, tears of sadness and tears of joy....what can I say I'm all for the crying. I love how Carter is so loving and attentive to his family and although there is a bit of betrayal in there relationship you can't seem to want anything but for Carter's & Indiana's relationship to succeed. If you loved Bastard you will definitely want to read this one too......you may need tissues.

I absolutely loved this! It was great to get more Indi & Carter. Their love is so beautiful and you can feel it in everything they say & do.

I loved how real the story is. The concerns, the issues that come up, the mistakes that are made, the fears; they’re real issues that couples go through and Jodi has a great way of writing that makes you feel everything they’re going through. I didn’t want their beautiful story to end.

An excellent addition to Bastard’s heartfelt story.

I received this book as an ARC. What a tremendous sequel to Jodi L Perry's 'Bastard', it continued with the birth of Indie and Carter's daughter, what happens during and afterwards the birth keeps you on the edge of your seat. I am not in the habit of giving spoilers but the intensity is off the charts. Jodi has yet again captured her characters with such emotion the book had me wiping at my eyes often. Loved the first Christmas, wanted more though. (I'm being greedy) Can't get enough of Jodi L Perry her work is superb.
