A lot of fun, though mileage will vary by story. Authors as diverse as Woody Allen, Jim Davis (of Garfield fame), PG Wodehouse, and Bret Harte.

A few stories spoof the styles of specific authors and works rather than the genre as a whole, and enjoyment of them will require a familiarity with them to reap the maximum laughs (in particular, spoofs of Dick Francis, Dorothy Sayers, and Umberto Eco).

Henry Beard's "The Big Recall" is a standout, as well as a prime example of why he was an instrumental force in the rise of The National Lampoon.

Only a couple of duds in an otherwise good collection of parodies. Henry Beard's "The Big Recall" was a standout.
