Exclusive interviews and career overviews of key comics creators taken from the pages of the Judge Dredd Megazine. In this fourth collection Alan Moore, Brett Ewins, Liam McCormick-Sharp, John Higgins, Colin Wilson, Dylan Teague and Peter Doherty discuss their work in comics, 2000 AD and many other titles in great detail.
Alan Moore is the leading name but he's not the star of this collection as the other interviewees provide more interesting and less familiar stories. Two clearly important themes keep appearing: creator's rights, and the differences between the UK, American, and European industries and markets. Unfortunately there's a dearth of illustrations accompanying the written material, which would really help to document some of the changes in interviewee's styles and some of the points they and Molcher are making. Still, if you're the sort of fan who would find this material interesting you've probably got them elsewhere. It's always fascinating to read the stories of the 2000AD artists. The point is made somewhere in this volume that 2000AD broke industry tradition by giving credit to their artists and writers; volumes like this help the reader realise just how little the name represents.
