Beta is Best
Sean is the second in command Beta for the Colstone wolf shifter pack. Working with his best friend and Alpha pack leader, James, Sean is searching for Lisa, who has been kidnapped by the rival Smithrock pack. Sean is a bad ass, he's fearsome, he's alone. Much as he fights against his attraction to Lisa, he can not help but search for her. Lisa is a jaguar shifter and we learn about a whole new culture to this world. Both our protagonists have seriously dysfunctional histories. Although they are functioning adults, their baggage, especially Sean's, causes terrible repercussions to their psyches. It is fun and sexy to see Sean & Lisa over come obstacles and win this round of pack war.

Enjoyed this story! I couldn’t understand the need for the pequel until this book, don't get me wrong I liked the short story, I just didn't realize the author was setting up a more indepth knowledge of how much the past effects the present. Very good series!

Wonderful read
Sean's story is heartbreaking. I am so glad Lisa never gives up up on him. The story is fast and answers some pertinent questions. I read these books out of order and it has it made much of a difference.

This was a great read in this series. I enjoyed this one, book 2, better than the first one. Sean and Lisa made a wonderful couple.

Love this series! The plot is certainly thickening! The story continues of the rotten packs and what they're up to. This works alongside the story of Sean and Lisa seamlessly. There's certainly a lot going on to keep you hooked from the first page to the last! Highly recommended!

When you put together a kidnapping and a rescue, throwing in a surprise attack you have a winner. The story was well written and a quick read.

Taken picks up where the previous novella, Promised finishes – Lisa has been kidnapped by the nasty piece of now dead meat, Eric but his slimy pack members have her hidden. Sean is the pack’s best tracker and Lisa’s true mate, even if he won’t admit to it. His determination to find her is driven by duty to the pack and something else he just can’t understand or accept.
Lisa is a jaguar on her own – now more than ever. Kept in this smelly room with barred windows and guards outside the room and the building she sees little help coming her way any time soon. If she shifts she might be able to take down a couple of the men, but not all of them. Somehow she must escape because only humiliation, rape and death will meet her in this place. She’s hoping against all hope that Sean will search for her. She knows her best friend Kara will, if she is able. For now she waits for the right moment – and it’s going to come sooner than she is ready for.
Taken is such a gripping, edge of the seat story. One that I’d really like to tell you more about – but if I do that it will spoil your own reading enjoyment of this next installment of the True Mates series. There will be three surprises or twists to this story. And some answers as to why Lisa and Sean react to each other and their own personalities. But those answers are spoilers. So, nope, sorry.
As more secondary characters are introduced and given backstories, or at least hints, I’ve a feeling that True Mates is going to be a compelling series that will be added to for a good while. There are very good reasons why Sean is so determined to deny his bond with Lisa and why he rarely calls on his wolf but uses his human power to deal with trouble. And Lisa has experienced a humiliation that she simply will not speak of to anyone, not even Kara. When that reason is revealed, you will look at Lisa’s character differently for she truly is a strong woman in so many ways.
These two need to own their pasts in order to have any hope of a future together.
True Mates is not a serial, each story does have an ending, a happy ending – but the stories flow from one to the next. So this is a series that would be best enjoyed by reading in order… in my opinion.

This is quite a series especially this exceptional book. Ms. Arran has me wanting to read every book of this series I just can't quite. We continue right from the ending of Promised, Lisa is kidnapped by Eric sending his goons to hold her hostage so Kara mates with Eric. BUT nothing stand in the way of a Wolf and his True Mates.
Luisa aka Sexy Lisa is a Black Jaguar Shifter who has befriended Kara and helps her escape Eric, only to find a Sexy Hot Hunk
who she craves yes the two would be explosive together. Maybe staying a Wolves Den won't be so bad after all, she could help Kara and play with hot Wolfie.
Sean is the Beta for the Alpha James Colstone of the Colstone Pack. Been James's right hand wolf for years, then he sniffs Lisa and realizes she a Feline. Oh no he's staying far away from her, why would James bring a Feline to a Wolves Den?
Look at her in those sexy heals and a dress so short she's showing everyone her a**.
But when Sean finds out Lisa has been Taken he see red and vows he will get her back, there will be blood. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.

At the end of book 1 Lisa had been kidnapped to force Kara’s compliance to Eric’s evil plans. Lisa had also met her true mate in the shape of one growling, obstinate, not believing it, you are not my mate, Beta of the Colstone pack, Sean.
Sean was still arguing with his wolf as he rescued Lisa.
I loved Lisa throughout this whole book, she is smart, bright, kickass, positive and exactly what Sean needs to bring him away from his horrendous childhood.
Once Sean’s story unfolded I understood him so much better and he became one of my favourite scarred heroes. The sins of the father really come across in this book. Sean IS NOT his (hate to even use this word) fathers’ son.
Lisa and Sean were the ultimate couple for me, she will brighten and improve his life and he will always love her and keep her safe.

Colstone Pack from Craggstone Town. Lisa is from a jaguar shifter pride. After making some hard decisions about her life, Lisa shows amazing strength and tenacity. Wolf shifter - no cliffhanger - good read!
Kindle unlimited standalone book in series. He doesn't want her until she's taken. But even then he thinks he can ignore the bond. She's trying to get away from her captures, especially since one is coming on a little too strong. Can he save her? And how can he keep her at arms length?

Really... his true mate is a feline. Just great but tightly controlled Sean is not having it nope, nada not happening. But snarky and sassy Lisa isn't buying it. Now.... how does she get out of being mated to another cat???? Hmmmm???

Great Next Step!
I thoroughly enjoyed the story, characters and all of the obstacles that they are having to deal with! I can't wait to find out about Oliver, and how they take care of the trouble makers in the neighborhood!

Now I definitely need them to find Sean's father. I loved how she drew him back from the edge of crazy. Now it's time to put a stop to the evil shifters. Th e plot thickens.
