I'm a mom, who spends most of my free time reading or imagining the next story. I live with my husband, daughter, and son in St. Louis, MO, home of our beloved Cardinals. I'm also a shoe designer with a wandering imagination, and emotions that can only be tamed through writing.

At heart, I'm really just a seventeen-year-old girl, which is why I enjoy writing YA and NA fiction.
There is something magical about that age. It's the only time in your life when you're caught between childhood and adulthood. Nothing is set. You're still defining yourself, and since you have your whole life ahead of you, anything seems possible. You can be whatever or whomever you want.

When I graduated from high school, my parents wanted me to become a writer. So, I went to college and became an artist. Yes, I was that teenager. I showed them, but I guess the joke is on me because here I am, writing. If only I could tell my teenage self that I didn't have to choose.

I m so happy rite now

This book left of where the last ended Laila as been home from her trip to c Sam a lil while she is still very al over the place her heart is with Sam but there is Gavin an she couldn't forget Trevor even though there not talkin after what happened she is lucky she as Avery her bff she is there for her when Laila starts to think that she is getting her head around things Trevor gives her the kiss of al kisses she as never felt a kiss like it an she luvd it she this turns things around in her head but then Gavin isn't goin to let her go without a fight Laila now finds herself not in a love triangle but a love square

Like I said in the NUMB book 2 Laila must have some special powers cause she as 3 gorgeous men after her an I just luv Trevor he as been my fave from the beginning the banter she as with him is so good an the sexual tension is hot I can't say that I didn't like Sam or Gavin but I did c another side to these 2 characters an towards the end I couldn't believe how things just changed an if I heard about that damn letter again I would of gone mad it was so stupid an i did understand Laila's frustration at times with Sam I did think she was a lil weird with Gavin but I guess it's hard havin so many men fallin al over u I did luv the fact that Trevor had a lil distraction with Dawson an I actually really liked her an it gave Laila a bit of her own medicine again I did find Laila annoyin her goin back an forth again an again she just couldn't make her mind up on anything an was sometimes blind with what was goin on

I was dyin for this book I needed to know how this would al end I would of luvd a lil more at the end I just felt it was a lil quick I want more of them at the end but the author did give us a lil teaser of Playlist an I m dyin for this I think I m lookin more forward to this I luv Avery she as been great from the beginning she I m lookin forward to get into her head more but back to this I recommend this whole series it does need to b read in order an each book an left me wantin more an this book gave me the answers I wanted it was just a great book an series xxx

Hello Readers.
Laws of Motion is the third book in the Westbrook Series and is the conclusion to Laila's story from Distraction and Numb. This story is a dual POV style narration told through both Laila and Trevor's eyes. Thank you for your time and happy reading!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Laura!!! Why did you do this!!!! I had a feeling this was going to happen no!!!!! I feel like you ripped my heart out and stomped all over it! Why did you do this to my poor baby (Sam)? WHY!! :'(

The grief has taken over every emotion I feel right now, will this ever end? :'(

Oh God! How do I even begin to write this review? I have been postponing this for as long as I can, I knew the moment I was writing the review I will fall apart! This book continues exactly where it left off between Sam and Laila kissing but it has fast forwarded a month I think.

Things get really intense for Laila, as she is juggling between Gavin, Sam and Trevor. There was always this heated intense moment between Trevor, Sam and Laila already without including Gavin. But does it get intense in this book, it goes off the charts!

How do I describe this book without telling the story or giving too much away?

I think this book everyone sort of knows what they want and go after it, they also face the mistakes they made and either live with it or make amends; it doesn't go that way for everyone though (you will know what I mean if you have the read the book).

Laila grows up alot in this book, she tries to be honest and just admit what she is feeling not much lies are being told. Albeit, she is running away from the situation at times and is very conflicted with her feelings for both Trevor and Sam. We also see Avery being very friendly with Kyle who shares the same sentiment. Avery is a very good friend, she has Laila's back at all times considering she is very popular and how beautiful she is but that does not stop her from being a good person I liked her alot in this book.

Kyle cares and loves Laila alot, the only thing is he has a very funny way of showing it and can act oblivious to how much his words can hurt her sometimes but it is good to know that he does have a affectionate side, I just wish he would stop being a complete jerk to his sister especially when he is always calling favours from her! Seriously grow up man!

I am glad with the way things ended, although it was alot of confusion to go through and wondering who Laila will end up with but I can see why she does. It is a very bittersweet ending! I love that Trevor finally gets Laila cos he toally deserves her as he suports her through thick and thin whereas Sam doesn't. I kind of feel like because Sam does not fight harder for and because he broke her heart that summer he leads Laila to Trevor otherwise she would have ended up with him! What a bummer, I had high hopes for Sam. I am still secretly wishing that Laila and Trevor break up and she gets back with Sam. Wishful thinking? Maybe, but I fell in love with Sam which is most likely why I am blind to Trevor's love for Laila. Lol I have this sense of deja Vu where Laila feels and says the exact same words. What I loved most about this series was how real life it was, this story could have been anyone, I could have been Laila or will be :).

Laws in Motion is the third book in the Westbrook series and the conclusion to Laila's story. I'm going to set the whole review as a spoiler because I don't think I can finish writing this review without slipping a spoiler. So be warned.

So after my ranting, why did I gave this book 5 stars and shelved it as my favorite?

I don't know. Maybe it's because I liked the ending or the development of two characters until the very end. But one thing's certain and that is, I enjoyed reading this book despite the times I'm tempted to wring Laila's neck.

Laws of Motion is the third and latest addition to the Westbrook series from young adult (YA) author Laura Clark. Here, fans of the series finally get the resolution we've all been waiting for in the very active love life of seventeen-year-old Westbrook High senior Laila Patterson. The story is told from the points of view of both Laila and Trevor Maddox and I must admit that I was quite interested to see how Trevor saw Laila's actions and reactions when it came to not just having one, not only two, but three guys more than interested in claiming her heart. To be honest, I felt that only two out of three guys were really as invested in Laila's love and reciprocating it--Trevor and Sam Woodson. Gavin Trotter wanted to date her, but I doubt that he was in love with her and vice-versa. Were they both smitten? Possibly, but only to a degree.

I've been more of Team Trevor than Team Sam, though admittedly, I've wavered a time or two, especially after the whole letter incident. Both Trevor and Sam were good guys who deserved to have their own happily-ever-afters because I honestly think that any girl would be fortunate to have them. Now, do I think Laila deserved one of them? There were moments that I was frustrated with her inability to make a choice that I was tempted to hope that she would end up with no one. But, I had to remind myself that this girl was only seventeen and while her lack of experience in relationships was obvious in the first book, her dating and kissing more than one guy and hopping from one to another without much thought as to the consequences of her impetuous behavior didn't necessarily make Laila much of an expert two books later.

Because of being forced to remain on the sidelines more times than he would have liked, I couldn't help but cheer for Trevor when he finally said what was on his mind. Kudos also needs to go out to Avery Brookes--Laila's best friend, Trevor's ex-girlfriend, and the girl Kyle Patterson has more than a crush on--because the girl saw things much more clearly than Laila and a few others did. She was objective and spot-on in her observations and in relaying her words of wisdom. I'm really looking forward to her having her time in the spotlight when the fourth book, Playlist, comes out next year. But back to Laws of Motion...I love Trevor and Sam for being consistently YA book boyfriend-worthy. I'm glad Laila finally did grow up and opened, not just her eyes, but her heart to a host of new possibilities. Five stars for this trilogy ender! ♥

**** I recieved an ARC for an honest review *****

I can't thank Laura enough for reaching out to me with this series. I have enjoyed it more than you can ever know. I love YA and these books have made me absolutely giddy!!

Laws of Motion is the 3rd book in the Westbrook series. This one picks up right where book 2 left off. I don't know how Laura does it but each book gets better and better.

"This is not how it was supposed to happen. Falling in love should be easy, weightless, passionate, and all-consuming. More importantly, its supposed to happen with one person."

The Sam/Laila/Trevor love triangle continues. Laila has returned from her visit with her brother with more questions than she had when she left. While Sam and her got together they never really had that define the relationship talk. Are they together?? Are they exclusive?? What is she supposed to tell Gavin?? What about Trevor??

Laila has decisions to make, does she stick with the safe choice Sam?? Does she go with Trevor the one she thinks about more than she would like to admit?? The one who has been by her side through thick and thin ??

Whats a girl to do?? Talk to her BFF right!! Avery is struggling with some of her own boy issues, which due to the fact that Laila is so distracted she hasn't even realized.

Trevor kisses Laila ... A kiss so magical it puts all other to shame ... a kiss neither one of them can quit thinking about.

Sam comes home, they have the talk, Laila suggest maybe they see other people cause she still hasn't officially broken up with Gavin so why not see where that road leads right ( and of course there is Trevor). Sam agrees says its better to have a piece of her than none of her.

Trevor attempts to see another girl ... to distract him maybe ?!?! He loves Laila but she's still hung up on Sam and Trevor is just as confused as ever.

Sam finds out Laia kissed Trevor . . . Drama ensues!!

That is all the detail you will get out of me because well you need to read this fantastic series . . .

It is filled with drama, the kind that makes you smile big and slap your leg and laugh out loud and then point at the air beside you when something happens and you just knew it was going to happen!!

Laura Clark you rock my socks and I can't wait to read about Averys journey!!

I was given an ARC copy of this book by the lovely Ms. Laura Clark for my honest review. I really loved Laws Of Motion, I loved the backdoor perspective of our younger generation. The Trevor and Laila dual perspective was a different format of the two preceding books and I really enjoyed it. We get an all access pass into Trevor’s head explaining his hot and cold persona. This rollercoaster of a novel kept me on my toes. When we learn of Sam’s reasons for holding back it made sense and demonstrates his maturity. The whole Avery and Kyle scene we were left in the dark about for the entire book, I wanted to know more about Avery why she is so closed off, never excepting the support she always dishes out. Clark tortured us on purpose because at the end of the book there is a teaser for her next project PLAYLIST !! Guess who that is going to be about ??? Yup Avery and Kyle and I can’t wait. Lots to be explained and I’m sure I will still get to see my favorite couple as well. The way the book concluded was great, we are left with the game of what if, which is always fun. The Reader has the opportunity to create a future for the characters they love. Don’t worry its not an ending you will be disappointed with it doesn’t leave you hanging !!! You have to read… to see…. what I mean !!! I also think that when Clark is ready to take a shot at the adult contemporary scene she will have a story waiting for her to write, and you have to write it, it would be and epic adventure for you and your Westbrook characters !!!
I definitely hope everyone gives this series a chance it was entertaining and a quick read! Good bye for now and happy reading !

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review ....

I really liked this book. Best of the three in my view, as the writing has matured well, the characters are fleshed out, and the secondary characters continue to intrigue.

I started out reading with no clue who I wanted Laila to end up with. Gavin was a red herring, so I really didn't consider him a contender, despite liking him as a character. Sam? Trevor? Who would she choose? Who did I want her to choose? The different perspectives for the book helped to really give a picture of the characters who we only caught glimpses of (via Laila) in the other books. And it definitely helped to cement who I wanted her to choose. I won't give it away, but I was definitely satisfied with the ending, and I'm looking forward to seeing the characters in future books so that we can see where things went after Laws of Motion.

Well worth reading for someone who likes a good romance or who has an affinity for teen fiction. I wouldn't limit this to just those who are teen readers, because there were a lot of moments when I forgot how young they were. No matter how many times Sam referred to Laila as young. No matter when Laila did something that showed she was lacking maturity.

Oh, and I liked Laila more in this book than in the past two. She seemed a little less clueless about herself and her relationships than she had before. Not completely clued in but less clueless.

Thanks for the share Laura. And keep writing, because these are fun and easy reads.

Wow! Now this is a turn of events.
I'm not so sure how to put my thoughts in order; I feel kind of weird about Laila's decision. She's a 17-year-old girl sort of in love with a 19-year-old guy and also with another 17-year-old boy. I'm not even close to these ages so let me try to explain myself.
Sam is completely right with the two years difference between them; I speak from experience two years of college are a really big difference, and you actually change a lot. It was right for him to leave things like that with her, I just hope that later they find their way back to each other.
I'm sorry, is just that I would have chosen Sam, at my current age, but as my younger self I would have done the same if I was a 17-year-old girl, but still I don't like it.
I loved the book, I hate Laila for the most of it, and also I don't like Avery a lot, she's not the best of friends, I mean, I get it she has her issues, but come on woman! You can be more open and tell your best friend; I think that is why you are best friends isn't it?
Anyways, I loved the story; I felt related to it almost every step of the way, and I can't wait for the Avery and Kyle POV.
Thank you again and again Laura for this story and for the opportunity to write an ARC.

I received a copy of this book in return for a honest review.

What a book. What an ending.

The third in the series picks up at the beginning of the school year. We get an a dual POV from Laila and Trevor.

I have to admit after the first few chapters I was kind pissed with Laila after reading from Trevor's point I was switching teams after being an avid supporter of Sam. Laila was still undecided and juggling not only Sam and Trevor but also another guy.

I found Sam hard to like during this novel. It was a very different Sam compared to the first two books. Kyle was ever present in this novel but there was more to his story (which Im sure we will see in future books).

I will not reveal who she ends up with or how she ends up with them but what I will say is I'm totally satisfied with this ending. I think that all characters come full circle.

Although I would like another book with these characters in five or six years time. I would like to to see how true that letter (from book 2) Sam wrote becomes.

Anyway a fantastic read and a wonderful ending that leaves the reader wanting more of the lives of Westbrook. I did particularly like that we got a sneak peek at Avery and Kyle's book.

Always hanging on for the next great love story

The third book is about decisions, and what impact they have on other's lives. But the most important part of this story is about the external force which could influence the course of these decisions. Especially when the girl has to decide what would be better for her, when she becomes just confused and doesn't know what to do. And only one person could help, the one who could influence the course of events simply by his actions.
I think that the feeling of confusion is familiar for everyone... Laila was an example of a girl who had got her answers, but that was not easy for her to get them. In spite of all that swirl of emotions she could come to the one conclusion which would be right for her.
What I liked the most, when I was reading this part, was the sense of reality. Plus, the style of narration was the same as in previous books: light and just very close to me. I immediately was pulled in the middle of the conflict. I must say in books I appreciate this possibility of escape to the world of fiction, I adore to feel as if I lived with the characters. Here, in this book I have it, and it's great!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

From the very first book I knew the guy I felt Laila was meant to be with but by the end of the second book it wasn't looking very good. It has been an emotional roller coaster of ups and downs for Laila through all three books, but she finally finds her happily ever after. I found myself wanting more of the couples story after I finished. I wanted to know if they went to college together and if their relationship survived. To me this signifies a really great story when I am left wanting more. I am so happy that Laila ended up with the guy I knew she was destined to be with. I don't like being cryptic but I am trying not to leave any spoilers in my reviews for those who haven't read the book yet. I recommend this series to anyone that remembers high school and the highs and lows of first love. I was so excited to see Avery will have her own story coming out! I am really cheering for her and Kyle to end up together - maybe we'll even get a glimpse of Laila and her guy! Thank-you for another great book Laura Clark!

Love this series!!

Loved this story of Trevor and Laila! Poor Laila is pulled in so many directions! Sam, Trevor, and Gavin! Through this series I could not decide who I liked better, Trevor or Sam. I was worried I would be disappointed once I read this book to see who Laila chooses. But Ms Clark wrote a fantastic story, and I love how it ended! She leaves you feeling good about the ending and loving both those boys hard! If you have read the first two books, Distraction and Numb, then you will definitely need to read Laws of Motion to see how it ends! Ms Clark writes with humor and creates characters so real and lovable! She pulled me in at the very beginning of the first book! This is a great YA read and I absolutely loved it! Great for all! I'm excited for Avery's story coming soon!

WOW!! Laura Clark has done it again. It's so funny...I keep thinking there is no way the next book will be better than the last one. Every time I am proven wrong!! I would give this book more than 5 stars if they would let me. I started this yesterday and could not put it down. I loved, loved, loved, loved this book!!

Laila Patterson's love life is super complicated. Her first love, Sam, comes back into her life. At that point she's also dating Gavin. Then Trevor complicates things even further by kissing her. I'm not going to give anything away by saying who she ends up with. I will say that I'm doing a happy dance!! I was hoping she would end up with this person. Yippee!!! I love feel good stories.

I cannot wait to read the next book. This author has me hooked!! :)

*********I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review*********

First I want to say I love the whole series. This was the perfect ending for the series. Maybe if she had end up with someone else I wouldn't be singing this tune hahah. I love how the author kept you guessing who the Main female character was going to end up with. Even do sometimes I didn't see eye to eye with her decisions, I couldn't stop reading her story. I didn't quite like one of her guys and loved the other. I can't say more of who I loved because I would be telling you the ending. But I would like to say to the author that she did an amazing job with this series.

If you are a fan of YA romance I would recommend this series for you.

***I was given this book for free for an honest review***

I am so confused with Laila. I really didn't think she would ever make up her mind on which guy she wanted to be with. She is so guarded and not willing to really let go and all she ends up doing is hurting her self and the ones she really cares about. I really feel that in the end she makes the right decision. The back and forth she has with Sam and Trevor in the story just about killed me. Over all I loved this book and it really made me feel like I was back in high school all over again. This is truly a must read.

This is one of those books where I was SURE about who she was gonna end up with. WRONG-O! But I was also pleased to find out that even though I'm wrong, I still liked the ending. You would think that I'd be screaming like the world ended when she picked the other guy. But I went "wait,... that makes total sense... Wow."

That's why I gave this book five stars. What a great series. Give it a read, you won't regret it.

Such a wonderful continuation of an amazing story!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this one too!

Ahhhh.....poor, poor Laila!!! I really felt for her during this one!!! I really REALLY got to dislike Sam. He seriously acts like he doesn't want her, but nobody else is supposed to have he either?! Ugh. I like how the ending was, but I wish there was more on their lives together. I am really looking forward to Avery's story now!!!

This book has the same feel like the rest of the series but this time we had a dual pov (Yassss!). It's refreshing to read from Trevors pov and finally Laila got the taste of her own medicine from Trevor and Dawson. As for the ending...

*SPOILERS*

I warned you...

Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!
description
Team Trevor prevails! I freaking knew it. He deserves to get the girl because from the start he's always freaking there. Imagine all the pain watching her with other guys and the pain not being with her all this time.
description
Okay I know I should feel bad for Sam especially the Sam from book 1 but I'm not.
description
His character has been drifting away from Laila ever since he went to college and as I read this book even after they got back together I can't feel the love he has for Laila that he expressed through the freaking letter he mentions every time. It's like he's not trying anymore. I guess a heroine like Laila is pretty tiring to pursue but Trevor even got it worse because he never had her until the end and yet he was still there. The only thing I complain about is it took so long to get them together! It's literally the last few chapters and it felt rushed. I wish it was at the middle and so I can see more heated moments of Laila and Trevor. It's still worth it though because when they finally got together
description
The series has been an awesome read for me. It definitely has it moments that tugs your heart and make you happy. It also kept me anticipating who the heroine will end up with and until Numb, I really had no clue. Kudos to the author for making such a cute book and need I mention the series has an adorable cover? <3

**DEBBIE'S 3.5 STAR REVIEW**

This is the third book in this series and I was a little nervous when I started this one. The way the last book ended I had a feeling that things were going to go downhill for all parties involved.

I had a hard time connecting with Laila in this book. She flat out just pissed me off. I felt like she was wishy washy and kept leading both Trevor and Sam on with mixed signals. Most o the book I honestly could not stand her. I wanted to smack her upside the head and tell her to make a decision already. In the end it wasn’t even her that made the decision. She was just immature and I felt she didn’t deserve either of them.

“Images of both Sam and Trevor keep flashing through my mind making me feel guilty for wanting to date Gavin.”

“I know I was kind of being a bitch, but I just got so sick of it. I love Sam. No wait. I live Trevor, but I’m dating Gavin.”

I was expecting more in this book. There wasn’t much about Sam in this book and honestly I had issues with him too. I felt like he kept avoiding the issues between him and Laila and easily turned his back on her because of his friendship with Laila’s brother.

I really liked that this book had Trevor’s POV in it. I loved to get into his head and get to see exactly how he saw things. I felt really bad for him for most of the story. He kept hanging on to the hope that Laila would see how he felt about her and want to be with him. Every time he moved on though she would do something to make him feel guilty and pull him back into her drama filled life.

The story was good but I felt that it dragged some and started to get unbelievable at times. Honesty, I couldn’t for the life of me see why these boys were hanging in their and letting Laila play with their feelings. I flat out could not stand her. She just came of very immature and selfish. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. I have a feeling that Avery’s story is going to have me wanting to bust my reading device.

DISCLAIMER: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I will try to contain spoilers, but this book is so amazing that I need to scream! ♥

I have to say it is quite a great way to pass the time when reading this book. So worth the read. I read it so fast, but I went back to read it again, because I needed more. When the last book ended, I needed closure with Trevor, and I definitely got that with this book. Trevor was definitely a favorite when I began the series. Call me biased, but I am still rooting for Trevor. I was not joking about the dreams. I woke up the morning after reading this book and found that I was crying because of something wonderful. It could be just because I am a total sucker for cute romances, such as this one.

I’ve read and enjoyed the first 2 books in this series and the 3rd is great too. Laila finds herself in a “love rectangle” (love that phrase!) and it’s interesting to experience along with her the ups and downs of teen relationship angst. I especially LOVED the alternating POV between Laila and Trevor! Being able to get into Trevor’s head was fun and enlightening. Author Laura Clark has a good handle on what’s going on with teens today.
The story flowed well, and brought back memories of being that age and trying to figure things out - like why can you be attracted to more than one guy at a time and what do you do about it? I don’t want to give away the ending, but she ends up with the guy I was rooting for. There’s teasers to hook the reader into Laura Clark’s next book, Playlist. I can’t wait for it!

I’ve become invested in this series and can’t believe that it’s over! The last book in the Westbrook series, Laws of Motion, was a tad different than the first two, as I got to witness half of the story through Trevor’s eyes. Each chapter grabbed my attention and pushed me to turn the page and see what happened next.

I really liked Trevor, but I liked Sam more. Between Laila and Trevor, I had whiplash. Both were very immature and indecisive. Sam seemed more mature to me and I was rooting for him all along.

This book was definitely not my favorite of this series, but it was still cute and addictive. Laura Clark is a fantastic writer and I think she truly deserves more recognition as an author, but this book fell flat for me I guess.
Now don't get me wrong, this book was still good and worth reading, but there were some times where I wanted to bang my head against a wall and also slap a few of the characters across the face. There were those clichés that made this book not as great as it could have been.
The characters were still fun, but Trever irritated the crap out of me in this book. He was such a jerk!

He wouldn't follow his heart, and he treated Laila in such a way where I wanted to lecture him about how rude he was being. He got so mad easily, and the way he would view girls annoyed me. I know it's realistic for boys to stare at girls, but he was written in such a way he said sexy all of the freaking time. He lost his sweetness in this book, and that really makes me sad because I loved how sweet he was in Numb.
Then we have Laila, who couldn't make up her mind.

Laila! Stop playing with these poor boys' hearts. She seemed so selfish at times, and we always heard about how she had amazing legs and how smart she was. I need people to realize her flaws! Call the girl out, tell her she's being rude to these boys, not encourage her to lead them on! There are times when I question the intelligence that she is claimed to have. It's like she's a small child who I want to give guidance to.
Also, can we have a spinoff series for Gavin?

Gavin is such a sweetie pie, and if he had a spinoff series, that'd be awesome! He's such an underrated character, and he has a southern accent! I can see him having such a great spinoff book or series, and I'd love that. Whenever he's in a scene, he instantly makes me grin, and I don't know why. He's just an all around great guy.
As much as I love this series, this book could have been shortened quite a bit.

This book was filled with almost to much fluff and could have been resolved in about 150 pages easily. There was too much unnecessary drama to me and I didn't like it as much as the other books. I don't know, I guess that just wasn't my thing.
At times it was also very predictable.

I knew who she was going to end up with because of the added drama, and if you have drama, make me doubt, make me wonder who she will end up with. I want to guess and stress, because that's a fantastic reading experience.
Overall this was a very enjoyable book, and I'm stoked to read the spinoff with Avery in it. I am definitely going to read whatever Laura publishes.
