Rate this book
In the desolate mountains of Scotland, there is an abbey that time has forgotten. Its buildings have crumbled, and the monks that once lived there, guarding the abbey's secret, are long dead. When the journal of a crazed monk is discovered, so is the secret of Inchorgrath Abbey. There are tunnels underneath the abbey and in them resides a secret long forgotten. Together with a group of mercenaries, her would-be boyfriend, and her cutthroat professor, Lasha Arkeketa will travel across the world to uncover the secret of The Abbey.

My favorite indie author. This is a horror story that takes place in the catacombs beneath a mysterious Abbey in Scotland. The setting reminded me of The Keep by F Paul Wilson. An ancient maze filled with hidden information and terrors is breached by thieves. Well they learn their lesson and then they're trapped there for 1000 years by the guardian of the catacombs. He makes them into his eyes and ears to guard the secret hidden within. 1000 years later the Abbey's catacombs are breached again. Thieves. Again. Will they find the Abbey's secret? Will they live long enough to escape and unleash the secret's power into the world again? A power the world hasn't seen in several thousand years. Pretty creepy story and I definitely loved the setting.

Pretty good

I read this after i read the This Rotten World series to see what more of Jacy Morris's books were like. The Abbey was mystifying, as a group of archeologists traveled to Scotland to find a treasure. Each has their own agenda, which adds to the plot. The book was good, right up until the end. I feel it ended on a cliffhanger, and there definitely was enough interest there for me to see more if a series ever came. That in itself was a disappointment.

I would have really liked to get to know the characters more. I found the story interesting but not compelling because I only really connected with Lasha.
I listened to the audiobook on this and really was not a fan of the narrator.
