In the late 1980s and early 1990s, McFarlane became a comic book superstar due to his work on Marvel Comics' Spider-Man franchise. In 1992, he helped form Image Comics, pulling the occult anti-hero character Spawn from his high school portfolio and updating him for the 1990s. Spawn was one of America's most popular heroes in the 1990's and encouraged a trend in creator-owned comic book properties.
In recent years, McFarlane has illustrated comic books less often, focusing on entrepreneurial efforts, such as McFarlane Toys and Todd McFarlane Entertainment, a film and animation studio.
In September, 2006, it was announced that McFarlane will be the Art Director of the newly formed 38 Studios, formerly Green Monster Games, founded by Curt Schilling.
McFarlane used to be co-owner of National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers but sold his shares to Daryl Katz. He's also a high-profile collector of history-making baseballs.

Notes: Hardly Spawn here early on, and hardly more than build, stuff introduced, but lacking juice, the arc's left unfulfilled.

Continuity comes back with a vengeance in Spawn series after a long run of urban-horror one-shot issues, and old/new characters prepare the stage for #100.
Not bad at all and Capullo's artworks are still some of the best ones ever, but the ending seems coming too fast at last after so much meandering.

The war between heaven and hell seems to be ramping up, so that's encouraging, I guess? I mean plot wise for the readers - it's not great for Spawn's world.

Things are picking up and getting better.. I read that in one sitting so that was good.
Gotta thank Capello's talent mostly on that because, it had some pretty awesome moments.
Other than that, waiting to reach #100 while Spawn is still a depressed hell-pawn (see what I did there?)

Nice to see the main story of Spawn picking up again after all meandering all around. Also, it is always nice to see Angela.

Someone is trying to set Armageddon into motion. Spawn and Angela are trying to stop it. Meanwhile something crazy is happening to Wanda. I'm glad things are finally happening in the book. That was my biggest complaint when everything was focused on Jason Wynn. Who cares? Wrap it up. Instead Todd's decided to more or less ignore it for awhile which works too. This stuff is way more interesting.
