The author begins with the history of tofu which no one is really sure. It is believed to have originated in China. The author also gives good directions for cooking the tofu and nutritional information for tofu. There are many and varied recipes in this book which are all worth a try. The author also shows you how to prepare tofu by Slicing and draining. I recommend this book for all those who are thinking about using tofu as a substitute for meals and planning.
This was such a unique and creative cookbook!!! I haven't cooked much with tofu over time other than to make miso soup, so this was an extremely interesting cookbook for me to explore!!! There are all sorts of recipes covering a wide range of flavors!!! The recipes are not in a set order so you'll find dessert recipes randomly after an array of savory recipe ideas. I'm excited to try out these recipes!!!
I read through this cook book from cover to cover and plan on trying some of these vegan recipes which I aspire to about 80-90 % of the time. They seem delicious and feasible. I would have given it 5 stars if there had been photographs which motivate one to try particular recipes. Her cover photo dish looks wonderful so I am hopeful the majority will be too.
I am new to Tofu. Thank you for a great book letting me know how to learn about the right and wrongs for a beginner. Great book thank you so much keep up the great work in teaching through your cookbooks.
If you have mastered tofu, you can always come up with a vegan meal. The basic recipes are good, but the heart of the book is the introductory section, teaching one how to prepare and use tofu.
