Long but worth the read

Reading this box set was true enjoyment. It is a complex story with characters of complex but well developed personalities. Two erotic romances and loads of action and suspense.

ARC kindly provided by Captured Press via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

Since this is a box set of 7 books, I prefer to write a review for all the books together instead for each of it apart. Although I need to mention that I'd rather have read these books apart and not in a box set. In each book there are references in the previous books and it gets a bit annoying since I'd just read the previous ones.

This is the story of Nathalie and Elijah, an American Cinderella and a dark prince.

Although the story started really nice, somewhere in the third book, it lost its way. The storyline was intense enough to keep me reading these books even if I got a bit tired and disappointed by them by the end. The first 3 books were written by a dual POV (Nathalie's and Elijah's), the following 3 books were written by a dual POV (Alysha's and George's) and the last book was back to Nathalie's and Elijah's POV. The plot started like an agreement among two persons but it became obvious that it was something deeper quite soon. That's my first problem. The heroes started developing feelings for each other and it was beautiful but their only connection was through sex. I never felt them connected in another way since they hardly really spoke to each other out the bedroom with exception in the end of the last book.

Both heroes changed during these books and it was nice to witness how they influenced each other. They felt like they grew up and I liked this part.

Alysha and George were interesting characters. I liked them together and to be honest I felt their connection much sooner and stronger than Nathalie's and Elijah's. I also liked that three books were devoted in their relationship but I was disappointed that there was nothing important mentioned about them after book 6. It's like they didn't matter anymore.

The end of the story was nice and made sense in a way. I just wish that there was more about the emotional relationship of Nathalie, Elijah, Alysha and George than just the physical part. I liked the writing of Ms. Reign and I think she can create beautiful storylines but with just a bit more emotional connection.

I got this book because the whole bundle was free on Amazon. When I started reading it, I really thought it was going to be a quick read full of steamy scenes between an irresistible heroine and a playboy royal hero. In a way, it was that. But it was also so much more.

The plot revolved from the mere relationship between the main characters to the fact that the royal-blooded hero had enemies that wanted to harm him and anyone close to him. I won't tell you who the enemy was because I don't want to ruin the book. However, I will tell you that this enemy wasn't necessarily a wolf in sheep's clothing. The antagonist was identified early on. It was just a matter of what the main characters are willing to do, how far they are willing to go to fight for each other and for the good of the hero's country.

The sex scenes were super hot. Seriously, I question the credibility sometimes. This hero is a super-sexed man. But while there was a lot of sex in the book, it did not, in any way, ruin the bigger story of the serial. The way I see it, those scenes accurately defined the connection between the main characters. They started out as two people who went into their arrangement because of sexual attraction. But their bond grew from there. Eventually, feelings became involved. And with feelings, there came secrets, conflict, threats.

I was surprised to end up really loving and enjoying this book. I don't know much about this author, but if I see other books from the same name, I'd most probably be checking them out as well.

101 Nights Box Set, S.E. Reign
An erotic American Cinderella story

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:   Romance, Erotica

Sometimes I like a read that’s pure escapist fantasy, the rich guy and the struggling girl kind of thing. This sounded like that and fun, I expected lots of sex as its labelled erotica. In reality though it was a kind of train wreck read, I had to keep reading just to see what was coming. Parts were so off the wall that I wasn’t sure just what would happen next.

Elijah, AKA EJ, is a complete jerk when we meet him. Sex obsessed, selfish, misogynistic, he treats women like whores, doesn’t care what they think, what they feel so long as he gets his way. Oddly for such an obnoxious man he's got some bery loyal and good freineds, clearly there's something good buried in him, deeply buried though :-)
Then his dad, the King, throws a spanner in the playboy lifestyle, and he needs a fiancée. He doesn’t want one in reality, just as a bluff to stop his cousin inheriting the throne.
They’re a dangerous family, death runs through them in a very non accidental accidents way. Bit like the UK historical monarchs then....

Natalie comes along just at the right time. She wants him to save her apartment block from demolition, he agrees so long as she gives him three months as his fiancée, and of course lets him use her body however and whenever he wants.
There’s two big niggles for me right there, the minor one being the apartment block she wants saved houses ten thousand people. Really? A thousand I could accept but ten thousand? The town where I live has a population of around six and a half thousand, and its hard to imagine them and more crammed into one block....maybe its different in US to UK but that just seems a bit too weird to me. If I’m wrong and its common, then sorry but...
My really, really big issue is this though - EJ “I don’t use condoms. You on birth control?”  Then a couple of pages on  - Natalie “I’ve never slept with a stranger before” EJ - “its easier than you think. I do it all the time”...... “I’ve had more one night stands than anything else, sometimes with two women at once. I have no second thoughts about Fu king a stranger, and I don't care whether she does or not either. Sex is sex.”
So, he doesn’t use condoms yet has sex with anyone and everyone it seems. What a lovely message to pass on, he’s a walking talking STD magnet.
I just find that kind of thing irresponsible writing. Plus of course the pregnancy issue. He doesn’t want kids, and yet is so careless. With that attitude he ought to have a string of them, not least because with his billions there’s be any number of women willing to get pregnant just to get money out of him. Its sad but there’s many like that, and ones that will have sex with a stranger will have lots of them.

Having got that off my chest, onto the story.
Well, it lurches from crisis to drama, to hysteria and back again.
Every time something goes wrong they have sex, every time someone's in danger they have sex, on the way to a night out they have sex. Its anywhere and everywhere and just dominated the story, and given the drama in it that's a tough thing to manage!
I love an erotic read, but filling your story with endless sex doesn’t make it an erotic book, just a boring one for me ,and I skipped most of the sex scenes after the first few as they were so repetitive. They just didn’t feel real to me, but put in so that the book could carry the Erotic tag.
On one occasion they have sex in the limo ( well on lots of occasions but I’m thinking of one in particular). She’s an anal virgin, and yet he takes her there, no lube, no condom, just thrusts in...and she orgasms from it!
Please....a little credibility here. That can’t have been comfortable, the floor of a limo isn’t exactly a great situation for your first time, and with no lube or lubed condom it must have hurt. Especially as we’re always being told how generously sized he is ;-)

Its that drama filled storyline that kept me reading, despite the unreality of the story, I had to keep reading just to see what the author would throw in next! That's why it gets 2.5 stars, because although I didn’t like it and I wouldn’t read it again, though I skipped over so much of the sex, and skimmed the padded out parts I DID keep reading. Thats where the train wreck tag fits for me, its like when you just can't look away even though you know you won't like what you see....

It could have been a book I enjoyed, the potential was there but there would have to be lots of changes.
Still, its great for others as it is, and that’s fine. Horses for courses and all that. If you like it I’m glad, its just not one for me.

Edit: that 10,000 in a development kept bugging me so had a quick Wiki peek around. “ More than 400,000 New Yorkers reside in NYCHA's 328 public housing developments across the City’s five boroughs.” Thats what Wiki says... that averages 1,200 or so in each development. Sounds more reasonable doesn’t it?

Stars:two and a half, a train wreck read....

** 3 to 3.5 STARS **

I received this series from Netgalley for an honest review - thank you

The story is of Elijah who is the second born son to the King of Nijala who has left his country and currently living the playboy lifestyle in New York. He is a damaged soul and a total man whore to boot - he treats women with no respect and uses them purely for his own benefit. Then one day he meets Natalie, a kind hearted girl from a poor part of town that is trying to save her family and friends from being evicted from their run down apartment complex. Elijah blackmails her into agreeing to pretend she is his fiancee for 3 months so that he can take over as King and derail his father (who he hates) from the throne as his brother was killed. Obviously, being a cinderella type story you kind of guess what the ending is going to be, with a lot of drama and sex in between.

I enjoyed reading the first two books, the third book I really didn't enjoy because it contained literally just all sex with basically no storyline and what you would normally just call a filler book which isn't really needed in the series - I skipped lots of pages in this book. Book four improved but had a very similar story to books one and two (bodyguard (and EJs best friend) also from a privileged background meets and falls for Natalie's best friend, who is from her part of town and has no parents). Book 5 started to get more storyline to it although it would have been a lot better if there were a few sections in there from Natalie and Layla (EJ's younger sister) and how the bonded/their thoughts and feelings during the drama they went through. Book 6 had lots of drama and action and it ended how I predicted it would when I started reading. I would've liked to read more about Alisha and George and how their relationship developed and also how EJ was during the birth of their first born.

The series was kind of a love/hate through each book and although I am glad that I got to read it, it isn't a series that I could re-read over and over.

Damn...I need a cold shower (or two, or three). Things certainly got very heated at times. The story itself can be summarized as "Pretty Woman" (minus the prostitute and horse racing) gets dressed in "Fifty Shades of Grey" (minus college finals and helicopter rides). The story was interesting and grabbed my attention from the start. Towards the end I started noticing constant repetitions that became really annoying: Layla's accident was mentioned at least 15 times, the deal between Elijah and Natalie was also mentioned more than necessary - I don't have a dementia yet and I do remember how or why two main characters met. Also, and I am not sure if it was because I reading an ebook and not a physical book, but there were soo many mistakes: grammatical, sentences that didn't make sense because a word or two was missing, "you're" instead of "your", George's former fiancé was called Tracy, Tracey, and even Traci at some point. That got really annoying fast!

Hot, steamy and insatiable. This book is not for the faint of heart. EJ is absolutely insatiable. The love story between EJ and Natty is at first purely physical and then a love story. EJ is broken and Natalie is torn between wanting to fix him and wanting to smack him and leave him on the curb. Loved how the storyline was told from both of their perspectives. It gave the story a depth that would have been missed if only told by one side. Also enjoyed the love affair between their best friends George and Alisha (would really enjoy reading more about them). If you're put off by graphic sex scenes this may not be for you, if you're not.... this one is DEFINITELY for you. Loved this author and will seek out to read more of them.

Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

The first installment of this book was a fantasy on a 24/7 TPE relationship and it was not that bad. It was fun reading it and the characters were also interesting.
The second part that changed the focus for the best friends of the previous intervenients was more far fetched and boring, and kind of made me loose interest in the story.

And the way it ended was also not consistent and we loose track of both couples in the end. Not my cup of tea.

I bought each book of the series as it was released and there was a long wait for some of it, but this series really grabbed me, maybe because the prince started out as a complete ass but grew into a great hero. Ahhh! The miracle of love (and steamy sex!) I just found out this author also writes as Lizzy Ford and will look into reading those books because I don't see any other books under the SE Reign pen name. I loved this series. Grab it while it's free!

Good story with light BDSM

This series flows well, with the various characters' viewpoints coming through distinctly. They're not always likeable, but that makes them realistic. The sex is steamy, very explicit. BDSM ain't my cup of tea, but the author writes it well. I would give the book five stars, except for the sprinkling of editorial glitches, occasional missing words, and inconsistent formatting.

If you like treating women like whores, this is your book.
If you like sub/dom, you will love these books.
Best part of the books are the second string characters. I liked the hackers better than the main characters.

I read a free copy of this book. This is my honest review. I loved this book and am so glad I got it as a box set. I would have hated to have had to purchase each book separately and wait until the next was published. It is the only way to go. The first part is based on a woman who becomes a fake fiance to a future king in order to get him not to tare down the housing complex where her family and friends live. The 2nd part is based on her going missing and her best friend and his head of security get together to search for her, but they also learn they have more than computer smarts to them. The last is her being found and what happens afterwards. I highly recommend these books.
