Another wonderfully romantic romance by Lia Riley!

Archer Kane is infamously known in his home town as a manwhore. He prefers to make people laugh and to have fun over responsibility and commitment. But after a wild night in Vegas, he wakes up feeling hollow and alone, and decides that he wants and needs a change in his lifestyle. And right after making this decision, he meets Eden Bankcroft-Kew, and he thinks that it must be kismet before he notices her wedding dress.

Eden, a New York heiress, just found out hours before her wedding, that her fiancé is a cheating scumbag. And then she meets Archer, a cowboy, who is on his way home to Brightwater, where her cousin lives. And makes a decision that will change her life, hopefully for the better.

Back at Brightwater, both Archer and Eden are given opportunities to change their lives for the better, and Archer sets out to prove to Eden that she is the only woman for him.

My favorite part of this book was Archer. I just adored him. Yes, he used to be quite the ladies man, but as soon as he saw Eden, he was instantly smitten, and there was no other woman for him. He pursued her relentlessly, and he waited patiently for her to give him the chance to show that he was the right guy for her. He was such a sexy charmer, but when things got tough for Eden and for his grandmother, he was right there to support and help them.

I liked Eden, although I got very frustrated with her at times because of the way she pushed Archer away, and because in the beginning she kept throwing his past in his face. Luckily she came around, and saw how lucky she was to have found him.

This is my second book by this author, and in this series, and I just loved the romance. It was so very sweet, and the sexy times were quite scorching ;-)

I just love small-town romances, and the sweetness they usually have. Yes, some might find the sweetness too sugary, but I loved it. I was smiling and laughing throughout the book, and quite content when I read the final page.

For fans of Jill Shalvis, Marie Force, Lori Wilde and Candis Terry, you will love Lia Riley.

Like Cupid’s arrow through the heart, I’ve fallen for an archer. Well, a cowboy by the name of Archer. Archer Kane, manwhore, bad boy and big ol’ softie, to be exact. Sigh. These Kane men, they’re killing me with swooniness.

Heiress Eden Bankcroft-Kew has never really understood the appeal of cowboys…until she meets one fine example the morning of her aborted Vegas wedding. She needs an escape, and the handsome, friendly stranger is headed in the right direction. Brightwater, California.

Archer Kane has never been the responsible type. Women, wrangling and wild nights, that’s been the sum total of his twenty-seven years. But there’s something different about Edie, and suddenly the only woman Archer wants to wrangle is the sweet, sexy redhead in his passenger seat.

He’s not the right guy for Edie, and this is definitely the wrong time for them…right?

Swoon! This book was a load of fun; so easy, so charming, so sexy and so right. I loved this most everything about this book, especially the gentle, playful way it flowed through the story, making even the craziest moments seem…kinda adorable. Much like Archer Kane.

That man, I swear. I really enjoyed Last First Kiss, the first book in the delightful small town series, and Archer’s big brother, Sawyer was delish. But, um, Archer blew him out of the water in the ‘be still my beating heart’ stakes. Good grief. Sure, getting a girl in bed might have been is M.O., but the man had all the right moves and all the right words, and he made a believer out of me. Gah, why don’t men like this exist in real life?

Edie, so lucky… She can cook, she’s got the punniest café name of all time (take that, The Daily Grind), and she’s being pursued by a six foot tall man in a cowboy hat. I want that. Can I have that, pretty please? I felt for her situation, but couldn’t help but face-palm a little at her reasons for marrying the bastard fiancé that she (rightfully) ditched on D-Day. Or, wait, that should be W-Day. Wedding Day. But hey, we all make mistakes, right?

This was a pretty simple story. Boy meets girl. Boy falls for girl. Girl finds out that boy has slept with every single woman in a 100 mile radius (more or less), but still, it had a lot of appeal. Grandma Kane, for example. That crotchety old cow is quite amusing. Sawyer and Annie, there was just enough of them to make it good. Throw in a little small town intrigue and a solid foundation for the next book in this series, and you’ve got a winner.

I love Lia Riley’s genial, easy-going style of writing, and Right Wrong Guy was another book that won me over from the start and made me fall in love. Surprisingly, not just with Archer, but with Brightwater in general. ~ Beth, 4.5 stars

I have this special place in my heart for reformed bad boys. Watching a callous womanizer have his life turned upside down by love is one of the headiest romantic journeys an author can take me on. I would argue that there are few things sexier than the soft, insecure underbelly of the cocky, overconfident ladies’ man. Archer Kane is no exception – Lord Almighty, this man set my heart to racing.

Archer Kane has a well-deserved reputation. He’s spent his life avoiding commitment, out for nothing more than a good time. Eden Bankcroft-Kew has spent her life stiffly in the confines of the society into which she was born. When Archer meets Edie, she’s just left her awful, miserable fiancée on the day of their wedding and she’s looking for a fresh start. Something about Edie makes Archer want a fresh start too.

This couple is adorable. Edie makes Archer want to be a better man, and watching that happen is – well, like I said, it’s one of my favorite book storylines. Edie has some of her own issues to sort through and while Archer may have decided to turn in his manwhore card, Edie isn’t such a sure thing. Archer kicks things into overdrive to win her over and the results are adorable, funny, sweet and swoony.

This is a quick, simple, swoony read. My only complaint (and it is minor) is that the connection between Archer and Edie felt a little like instalove. I would maybe have liked a little more push/pull and smart, witty banter. Like I said – minor, because the fact remains that this is the perfect kind of book to sweep you off your feet for the time your nose is stuck in it.

If you read Last First Kiss, you’ll recognize some familiar faces and take comfort in the fact that Grandma Kane is just as hilarious and crotchety as ever. I am loving this series – Brightwater is peaceful and quirky, and apparently, chock full of sexy cowboys. I’ll definitely be back for more! ~ Shelly, 4 stars

It's no secret that I love everything Lia Riley writes. She is a master at creating stories which paint a picture that could easily rival reality. This book was no different! There was compassion, anger, love, humor and good ol’ Grandma Kane. She seriously needs a book for herself!

While this book lack a bit of a zing factor regarding plot twists, there was so much love and determination that it plainly just didn't matter. I had a feeling how the book was going to play out and I was so glad when it did! I can't wait to dive into the last Kane brother's story. ~ Kelly, 4 stars

There is just something about small town romances that draws me into books and leaves me in a bubble of happiness for days. Having enjoyed Lia Riley's Last First Kiss and liking the snippets of Archer and Edie that the reader saw, I was looking forward to reading Right Wrong Guy. I started the book with much excitement and by the time I finished, I was grinning and smiling and my heart was singing because this is the kind of romance that I love love love reading about.

When we first meet Archer, he has just woken up after a threesome in Vegas with two strangers. I was sure that I would have a hard time warming up to his character because manwhores are not my preferred book boyfriends. In fact, I usually avoid them. But boy was I wrong! As soon as Archer started to open up to readers, I was in love. This man may have had issues with commitment and slept through his small town of Brightwater, but he realized that his behavior with women wasn't normal. All his sleeping around was an outlet for him for not living up to his brothers. However, he was a man who was willing to change and Edie was the perfect woman to propel that change in him. The fact that he took the steps to change his ways made him so much more attractive. Add to that, he was a sexy, kind hearted, caring and supportive cowboy who was secretly a big huggable bear behind that playboy surface, I was guaranteed to love him.

More than I loved Archer, I loved Edie. This was a girl who was after my own heart. After finding out that her fiance was marrying her for money, she took a leap and decided to run away from her high society life with Archer to Brightwater on her wedding day. I was proud of Edie for the way she handled her situation. I loved watching her settle down in Brightwater and opening up her cafe, despite some wariness and obstacles from the town people. Edie was an independent woman and I love that she didn't wallow in her loss, but instead picked up the pieces of her life and built herself a successful career. She was such a role-model and an inspiration to readers, in my opinion. The secondary characters were also great fun in Right Wrong Guy. I especially enjoyed Grandma Kane and her grouchy antics.

The romance in Right Wrong Guy was just so lovely. To say that I loved it would be quite the understatement. This was the perfect kind of romance for me. It started off slow, but with lots of sexual tension between Archer and Edie. We slowly watched as this romance blossomed from friendship into something more. What made this romance so strong was how much Archer was willing to work to make it work. He pushed through her to show her that he was a man worthy of her love and affection and to show her that he was a changed man. What ensued was some great wooing on Archer's part and lots of swooning on mine. This was a romance that was sweet and passionate and so completely beautiful. More than anything, I loved how Edie and Archer were a couple that communicated and were open about their feelings with each other.

Besides the romance, Right Wrong Guy also explored the theme of revenge porn. I studied the topic in a media class last year for a paper I had to write, and it's something I'm very passionate about. I thought Lia Riley showed it in an authentic way, showing how the people you think are close to you can destroy your life within a few seconds and how the internet is forever. My heart broke for Edie when it happened and I was angry for her. I was glad to finally see the perpetrator get what he deserved. The small town setting was also quite wonderful and I felt myself being transported to the mountains and ranches of Brightwater.

Lia Riley's Right Wrong Guy was an even stronger novel than Last First Kiss. This is a series that I can't recommend enough to all of you readers who believe in happily ever afters and the swooniest of swooniest romances. Now, I cannot wait to read Wilder's book because I  have no doubt it will be just as amazing!

Another sweet romance by Lia Riley!

Three things I love about this series --

1. The men go after their women wholeheartedly. Archer and Sawyer have a single-minded devotion to proving that they are playing for keeps. It's so refreshing and swoony!
2. There is a serious lack of drama that has made these books so pleasurable to read. The characters aren't too stuck in their own heads, making the situation angstier than it needs to be. Instead the rough patches are handled with maturity and not stretched thin. It makes room for so many more sweet moments!
3. Small town country settings do it for me. Every single time. Add in cowboy brothers, one brooding and serious, the other a sweet talker and charmer, and then another who's potentially grumpy? Dead.

I did prefer Last First Kiss; I think I connected better to that second chance love story than to the nearly love at first sight between Archer and Eden. But while feelings do develop quickly, their relationship never feels rushed. There's definitely a steady build there. Plus, I love that bad boy Archer saw something in Eden right away and wanted to be a better man for her. That's so irresistible.

I'm holding out hope that Wilder's book will be my favorite!

There are your typical man-whores, and then there is Archer Kane.

Confession time: I don’t buy the whole womaniser turning into a one-woman-man because he takes one look at the girl and changes/mends/feels guilty about his ways. And if the writing in this overdone plot is anything less than fantastic, you can be assured of my frosty, if civil response to said book.

But like I said, there’s every other man-whore on the God’s green earth, and then standing on the other side, with his hands in his jeans pocket, smirking, is Archer Kane.

Archer meets New York hotshot Eden Bankcroft-Kew in Vegas and there are these little sparks. The most wonderful kind, the sweet, kind that land on your skin and are gone before you can react. They are these two complete strangers who have sparks between them and heaven help me, that is the closest I will ever get to admit in believing in the concept of love at first sight.

Eden, who is running from her idiot fiancé on her wedding day, happens to find Archer, who is also escaping. Except, he’s escaping from his ladies from the previous night. And after a really cute, fluffy meet and greet, Eden decides to accompany Archer to Brightwater. Which, okay, is stupid because I would never, EVER, do that. Warning: Readers, never hitch a ride with a stranger, no matter how cute he is. Stranger danger, okay?

Anyway, throughout their journey, it becomes clear that Archer sees Eden. He sees her beauty and her (s)ass, but he also sees that she genuinely needs a friend. And that’s how this starts, you guys. No immediate nookie. Just friendship. And that is what made me feel all the things, because Archer Kane made an amazing friend. He was kind and helpful and gah, that made me Eden want him even more.

If I were to give you one character that took the book away for me, it would be Edie. Obviously, there was a lot of growing up for Archer to do, and he did that, but Edie just stole the show. She was rich, but she was also lonely and I could immediately that Brightwater was home to her. And there were so many things that happened with her—obviously small towns are naturally suspicious of new arrivals. She had to make completely new friends in a town full of people who wouldn’t trust her. And opening a bakery is no child’s play—she had to work her ass off to make sure everyone in town accepted it (rivalries, yo). And of course, there’s the whole thing with her falling for a guy who is apparently always chasing skirt around town.

Archer did his own growing up in his own way—all thanks to his need of wanting to be someone Edie would consider, and Grandma Kane’s incessant badgering. Mostly the badgering. Whatever the reason, Archer became responsible and when you’ll read you’ll see exactly how hot men on ranches are. And in true Lia Riley fashion, the dialogues, the inner monologues, the disasters were all hilarious! There was this one scene with a leech on a cock and you just have to read it to believe it! The Kane brothers are something else entirely and that is seen in this particular book. I was never very comfortable with siblings being jealous or rivals of each other but that’s been brought into a whole new light here.

It was so, so good to see Sawyer and Annie again because, obviously, and again, no sign of Wilder. WHERE in the fuck is this guy? All in all, I’d say Right Wrong Guy was funnier and sexier than Last First Kiss, simply because of Archer and Edie’s sweet, kind of flirty banter and their kisses that were ASDFLKJHFG.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review. This does not influence my opinion in any shape or form.

I’ve been in this reading funk where I’m just not in the mood to read or if I start reading I can put the book down and go about my business. But Right Wrong Guy definitely was my exception. It’s that perfect light contemporary romance that can get you out of any reading funk you maybe in. AND DID I MENTION A HOT COWBOY? No, well there you go. What better reason to read Right Wrong Guy?

Right Wrong Guy is the second book in the Bridgewater Series by Lia Riley and can be read as a standalone. But honestly you can kind of read Right Wrong Guy first then Last First Kiss because events overlap and you get the bigger picture.

It is written in third person. It is rare these days that I read third person but I really enjoyed Lia’s approach. I personally would have loved to have been inside both Archer’s and Eden’s mind but I was really happy with what I got.

Eden at times was hard to connect with. She often made it difficult for me to like her simply because she was a bit weak and that really annoyed me. I wanted her to be as fierce as she was trying to be but sometimes that was lacking. She really pulled off the pamper princess thing and I was really afraid I’d hate her throughout the entire book but she turned out better than okay.

Archer, well he’s a hot cowboy what more can I say? I’m kidding. But he’s also sweet, incredibly loyal and one hell of a man.

What I loved most about Right Wrong guy was the fact that both characters took a chance. They wanted to right the wrongs they’ve made in their lives. I personally loved how the title played out in the story.

Seriously, I swooned so many times through out the book. Grandma Kane had my heart melting. Archer definitely had me melting to a puddle. And at the end of the morning (it’s three am as I type this) I can honestly say I have a huge smile on my face and my heart is pretty content with this book.

I do plan on continuing this series especially because book three sounds AMAZING. I personally thought it was about Kit but hopefully a book about him is in the works because I’d love to read it and Grandma Kane’s love story would be a perfect novella for this series. I’m just doing wishful thinking but really I’m really enjoying this series and look forward to whatever Lia Riley writes next.

First Date: We met both Eden and Archer in the first book so this was interesting because it takes us back to the point where these two first met. While this is the second book in the Brightwater series, the timeline overlaps with Last First Kiss and it worked wonderfully. Archer Kane put the swoon in cowboy. He has been busy sowing his oats and has quite the reputation as a ladies man. Eden Bankcroft-Kew is experiencing one of the worst days of her life or perhaps the best. Eden is on the run from her fiancé and as luck would have it, she has an Uncle in Brightwater and fate just provided her a ride. I liked both characters when I met them in First Kiss and together they have this terrific spark.
Second date: Eden likes Archer, and finds him sweet, but upon arriving in Brightwater his reputation comes to light and she has not intention of being another notch is his belt. She has an internal battle going on between her sensible side that warns "wrong guy" and her feminine side that wants to rub up against him and purr like a kitten. I loved watching the struggle. We interact with the characters from Last First Kiss, and Grandma already hates Eden. Just wait until you see why. I laughed so hard I had tears. I love being back in Brightwater. Small-town folks are such fun. Eden has made an enemy already and I'm waiting for the showdown. I do not care about Archer’s reputation I want him to get the girl.
Third date: The author weaved in a little suspense/drama with the ex-fiancé and it created just enough tension. While I never had, any doubt we would get our HEA it made the ride interesting. Toss in an old legend, an interfering, outspoken Grandma and some growing pains and we are partying on this last date. The last date delivered charm, heat, humor mixed with some small-town events and a swoon-worthy ending.

Brightwater how I’ve missed you! From your beautiful landscapes to your grouchy grandmas, I’ve fallen in so deep for you it’s not even funny. I mean, seriously, how can one fictional town make me want to pick up and move? I don’t even like rural small towns and I want to live in Brightwater! Maybe it’s all the hot guys and awesome coffee shops? Who knows? But I do know that Lia Riley has captured my heart with this series and there’s no going back.

We first met Archer and Edie in Last First Kiss and I immediately took a liking to them. Archer is the town’s Lothario and Edie is an out-of-towner who has decided to make Brightwater her new home. The two had definite chemistry and it was killing me to not have their story at the same time I was getting Sawyer and Annie’s. But now that Right Wrong Guy is here, I can have them all to myself! Archer was everything I hoped he’d be and Edie was so much more than I thought she was.

I really wanted to believe Right Wrong Guy was more Archer’s story than Edie’s mostly because I love a good reformed manwhore but this story was all about Edie to me. And that’s completely fine! She had a lot of growing to do and boy did she grow. Edie has never really had much. Sure, she grew up rich and never wanted for anything, but she was lonely. The man she thought she should marry ended up being someone she didn’t even know. She even admitted that she was only marrying him because she didn’t want to be alone. She’s also always seen herself as the ugly duckling so to hear that someone likes her is startling. She just doesn’t see it in herself.

But as the book goes along Edie starts standing ups for herself. She starts to see the person she wants to be, not the person who she thought she always was. She begins a new life in Brightwater and quickly assumes her new role. She’ll never forget who she is or where she came from, but she finally becomes happy with herself. And then there’s her relationship with Archer. Sure, she’s heard all about his philandering ways and she does hold it against him. I mean, I get it, I do. You don’t really want to feel like you’re just another notch on someone’s bed post. As time goes on though we see how much she really does care for him and him for her. It’s sweet. She finally opens up to him and it’s just perfect how well they are for each other.

I really enjoyed Archer. He had his own character growth during Right Wrong Guy but like I said before, this book was more about Edie than it was for him. Yes, he finally settled down. Yes, he finally found responsibility, but it was always inside himself to do it. He just needed to find the reason to actually mature in the way he needed. Eden was definitely that reason, as well as a kick in the butt from Grandma Kane. Archer was everything I needed him to be. He was hot, funny, and oh-my-god-charming. Just like Grandma Kane said, he could “charm the habit off a nun.” He’s a wonderful addition to the Kane family and just as wonderful as his brother Sawyer.

Overall Right Wrong Guy was a fun and flirty romance full of relatable characters and interesting situations. Lia Riley knows how to write a great story and this one is no different. I loved it and Brightwater so much. I cannot wait for Wilder now.

My Thoughts:

I was excited to return to the small town of Brightwater, California. I adore the Kane family, and their significant others. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that book 1 and book 2 in this series run concurrently in time. It was great to get reacquainted with Sawyer Kane, Annie Carson, Kit Kane, and my favorite character of all, Grandma Kane.

Eden "Edie" Bancroft-Kew is a well-to-do Manhattan socialite. It's Eden's Mother's dying wish for her to marry long time family friend, Reginald "Reggie" Winter. On her wedding day, Edie, discovers that Reggie is using her for her inheritance.

After Edie meets a handsome cowboy, by the name of Archer Kane, her life is transformed. She discovers that Archer is from the small town of Brightwater California, which is where her first cousin, Quincy, currently resides. On a whim, Edie hitches a ride with Archer, and decides to take control of her life's happiness. She will open her own high quality coffee and pastry shop.

As far as romance is concerned, Edie is extremely attracted to Archer, but she is hearing rumors about his womanizing ways. She doesn't think that she can trust her gut after being betrayed by her ex-fiancee. Another conundrum arises when Reggie begins blackmailing Eddie. Can she find peace and happiness in Brightwater?

Right Wrong Guy was a sweet, warm, charming, and romantic love story. I enjoyed the characters, and love the sense of humor that Ms. Riley has created in Grandma Kane. I loved this small town romance, and it was a great read to savor on a cold night, under the covers. These characters warmed my heart, and brought many smiles to my face. My only critique of this story would be that it was difficult to buy in to the way Archer Kane went from a philanderer to a one-woman kind of man so quickly. However, he does tell us that he is tired of his fast-paced lifestyle, and wants a more meaningful relationship with a woman. Then again, this is the day after he has a threesome in Las Vegas.

If you enjoy small town romance, the Brightwater Series is wonderful. All of these characters are warm, fun, have colorful personalities, and give us readers great romance! These stories give off a meaningful sense of family, close friendships, and community.

My Rating:

I give, Right Wrong Guy, by Lia Riley, 3.5 Heartwarming, Seductive Sexy Times, and Fun Filled Stars!

My Review

Summary
Archer Kane, the ultimate bad boy runs his life with zero commitment and living free and on his own timetable. He avoids living up to his responsibilities. But when he goes on one of his well renown Vegas trips with too much drinking and sex, he bumps into Eden, who wakes him up and Archer starts to change and wants something meaningful in his life. Eden Bankcroft Kew, on the day of her wedding, so overhears a conversation that her fiancée has with his "mistress" and how he is only marrying her for her fortune. She is furious and hurt, she Eden abandons him, and bumps into Archer. Archer makes her laugh and even though he is a cowboy, she finds him irresistible but she knows that she has to figure things out for herself. But follows him to Brightwater to build a new life for herself...to have a fresh start. But her past may ruin her before she has a chance to build something wonderful in Brightwater and with the man she has fallen heads over heels with. Can love truly overcome scandal and an enemy?
The Hero
Archer Kane, is the one brother that his grandmother is gearing up to take over the ranch, if Archer will stop avoiding his responsibilities to himself and the family. Archer and his two brothers lost their parents when they were young, and they were raised by their grandmother. His grandmother took over running the ranch after losing her husband after five years of marriage. She takes control and has had to be the leader since she was in her twenties. Archer is a bit wild and untamed, enjoys a life of drinking and too many women. When he wakes up with three women in his bed and not remembering a thing. Archer realizes this is not what he wants in his life. His plan is to head back home, and back to his duties to the ranch and to his grandmother. Archer is charismatic, fun and is pretty sexual. But he also wants more in his life and goes after it. He mans up to his past. It was interesting seeing Archer turn his life around and we that certain qualities have always been in Archer, he just hides it real well. Love how sweet he is with Eden.
The Heroine
Eden made a promise to her dying mother, that she would marry and carry on the prestige of the family name. So she agrees to marry a man her mother picked out for her. She puts her heart and soul into the relationship but then when she learns the truth about her fiancee and how he has been playing her, she takes a new course on life. Eden, upon meeting Archer, moves to Brightwater. A small town in California, but is just right for what Eden needs. But Eden needs to decide what to do. She has quite a fortune but she wants to do something fun and meaningful and help the community. So she decides to open up a coffee and bakery shop. Baking is her passion and she wants to share that with these small town folks who live a simple life. Eden is sweet and kind, stands on her own feet. I really liked her character because of how easy I could relate with her.
Plot and Story Line
Right Wrong Guy is a story that takes us from the big city to a small rural town where we discover love and committment in ways we dont expect. When we first meet these two, we see their lives before they "meet up" and boy both of them are wanting to make changes in life. Then they bump into each other at a coffee shop. We see how right they are for each other. They have chemistry and hit it off in their personalities pretty quick---in just one interaction. But both Eden and Archer know it's the wrong time for them. But then Eden takes a leap of faith and asks Archer for a ride to Brightwater. She has a friend that lives there and it seems like the perfect place to lay low for a while until she decides what to do after fleeing her wedding. Archer is intrigued and spell bound by Eden, he wants her but he is also consumed by her. He just can't get enough and wants more. But Eden wants time, she has heard plenty of stories about Archer's sexual adventures and after being hurt, she doesn't want to jump into the fire of another failed relationship. But Archer is determined to prove to Eden he will wait for however long it takes to show that he truly cares for her in a real and long term way.
I'm into you, okay? YOU. Only you. I'm all up to my ears with the idea of you.

This is a story that I fell instantly for. Now I bought this book months ago and I thank Quinn @ Quinn's Book Nook for getting this book. But then this week I realized I really wanted to read this. Especially with the third book just becoming released, I wanted to see what I thought of this author before I read her. And boy was I blown away. Before I realized it the book was over, I just was so consumed by this story I didn't even realize how fast I was turning the pages. This was a sweet and passionate love story that swept me away into the heart of it.

The emotions that this book conveys was so real and what a fantastic story teller this author is. She pulls the reader right into it, and you get locked away into the plot with the emotions vivid and the story that comes alive. This is a romance that is developed with two people who may seem wrong at first but end up being perfectly right. It's about taking that leap of faith and hitting the treasure chest. I love the development of the plot and seeing what holds these two together when conflict erupts. LOVED EVERY MOMENT!!
The Cover
What a gorgeous cover....one of my favorites of the year. Its sweet and romantic and you can get lost in it. Love the kiss and the pose here, as if these two can't get enough of each other.
Overall View

Overall Opinion: This was a cute and easy read about an unlikely couple becoming their best selves and finding love in each other. It was a pretty light read, and my major issue was the ending. It was way too abrupt, and I didn't get my much needed closure. An epilogue would've gone a long way IMO.

Storyline: This is Eden "Edie" and Archer's story. They meet in Vegas at a diner when Archer just escaped a ONS with 2 women (we don't experience anything but the aftermath) and Eden just escaped her ex-fiancé after finding out that she shouldn't marry him after all . She finds out that Archer is heading back home which happens to be where her cousin just moved, and she asks him for a ride. They form a friendship though both are attracted to the other. After returning to his home town, Archer decides that he needs to clean up his act and stop being a manwhore and be serious about a career in order to be a man to deserve Eden. Eden opens up a coffee shop. After some indecisiveness after hearing rumors about Asher's past, Eden decides to give them a chance at something more. There is some small town drama, some ex-fiancé drama, a sex tape surfacing, a family member going to the hospital, and then the couple find their HFN.

POV: This was in third person narrative.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. No slow parts, and even though the attraction was instant and there were stronger feelings instantly -- I wouldn't call this instalove (but it was close).

H rating: 4 stars. Asher. I liked how he spoke what he felt and said the sweetest things. Oftentimes I end up skimming when things get too mushy in the dialogue, but I really didn't mind it when he went there.

h rating: 3 stars. Eden. I appreciated how she didn't let her wealth effect her personality. I also liked the aspect that she didn't feel confident in her appearance...sometimes that can cross into annoying, but I felt that her feelings were justified because of her past of being bullied.

Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.

Heat level: Moderate. Some steamy times...just ok.

Descriptive sex: Yes.

Sex scene with OW or OM:

Cheating:

Possible Triggers:

Closure: Bad closure. Really abrupt ending with not much to go on and feel secure in their relationship IMO. I wish there was more time with them as a couple before it all ended...or at least a time jump epilogue.

Right Wrong Guy is Archer Kane’s book. He’s the youngest brother and is quite the player. He’s almost famous in Brightwater for his horn dog ways. But he’s so adorable it’s hard to dislike him. This book opens when he’s just waking up from a wild night in Vegas, spent with a couple of, well, showgirls I guess, showgirls with aspirations to be ventriloquists. The whole scene is hilarious in a Hangover movie kind of way.

Eden Bancroft-Kew is the heroine. She is about to marry in Vegas when she overhears her jerk of a fiancé on the phone with his girlfriend. Of course she realizes that she can’t marry him and hightails it out of the hotel before he notices she is gone. She’s sitting in a restaurant trying to figure out what to do when Archer comes and sits down with her. Through the conversation, she discovers he comes from the same town that her cousin recently purchased a house in and decides to hitch a ride with him. She’s a city girl from New York and he’s a good old country boy and they seem to have nothing in common, but Archer is smitten with her and realizes right from the beginning that she is different and the feelings he has for her are different.

But Eden, or Edie as she now wants to be called has serious issues. She’d been bullied most of her life and that’s left her feeling pretty insecure about herself even though she appears to be self-confident. She decides to open a bakery in Brightwater and Archer will do all he can to help her.
Normally I’m not very fond of the “playboy” type of hero but Archer is just too cute and funny not to like him. He realizes how shallow his life had been before he met Edie and he really wants to change for her. But with his reputation, combined with Edie’s insecurities, he has quite the battle to fight to prove he’s worthy. Factor in Edie’s ex who turns out to be a real jerk and her reluctance to confide in Archer and it makes for believable conflict.
As with Last First Kiss, I really liked the story. It happens about the same time as Last First Kiss so a few scenes are in both books. Sawyer and Annie play a role in this book but not in an overwhelming way.

I liked this one just a teeny weeny bit better than the first and was surprised at this as I usually turn my nose up at this kind of hero

This review was originally posted on Latte Nights ReviewsEver since I read Last First Kiss, I needed more Archer Kane in my life. When I read about him and later on Edie, I wanted those two to get together ASAP. I had no idea they had met quite that way so it was nice to have the author write that story, even before Last First Kiss happened. They had chemistry right from the start and I was so rooting for them!

Edie overheard her fiance talking shit behind her back to someone else. Apparently, he was only interested in the money. When she meets Archer, she's captivated by him but brushes it off. Long story short, they end up on their way to Brightwater, where Edie is looking to stay and make it her new home. Reading about these two going back and forth was interesting and hot at the same time. You could cut the sexual tension with a knife! They obviously wanted each other but Edie was scared to take the plunge, which lead Archer a bit heartbroken. I mean, the only woman he has his eyes on and she rejects him. But he really wants Edie and he decides to give her all the time she needs to find herself and then make the decision. Edie has heard the rumors of Archer being the man-whore of the town and it bothers her at first but then, she decides to forget it. The past is the past and both are ready to start anew.

Archer grew a lot in this book. I found him to be a bit immature in the first book and not quite there. But in his own story, he grows out of it and tries to be more of a gentleman and even takes over a big responsibility given to him by Grandma Kane. Both her and Edie kept Archer on his toes for the better. He is so charmingly hot! His story as well as Edie's were a great addition to this series.

This book was very flirty, with witty banter and a cute and hot romance. This review was originally posted on Latte Nights Reviews

Archer Kane is my ultimate book boyfriend now. /waves to Archer/ Even the name is super sexy and I just can't believe Lia Riley keeps making me fall in love with every single character she makes. (I totally believe it) ( Lia is an amazing writer).

Kane brothers are just what everyone needs.

Review time:

The Brightwater series keeps getting better with every book release. In Right Wrong Guy, you can see Lia at her best, writing funny dialogue and cute relationships between her characters. She does it in a way that you find yourself transported to Edie’s bakery or Archer’s ranch. You are just there with them.

Note: Kane brothers are just what everyone needs.

This time, Archer Kane is front and center. On a Vegas trip, he meets heiress Edie – whose wedding was supposed to happen that same day. She runs to Brightwater with Archer – and let me tell you, those two together spark so many flames, everything is super cute and you can’t help but smile at their interactions.

What I like about a lot on RWG is that the timeline is before Last First Kiss (Brightwater #1) AND during it. It also has some scenes that happen after but if you read Last First Kiss you can definitely say, “Oh! I remember that!” “I can’t believe that was also happening backstage.” Lia, as always, does a fantastic job giving life to all of it.

You will want to meet Archer Kane, guys. He’s sweet like a cinnamon bun and the greatest cowboy in Brightwater. There’s blackmail and desserts, one true loves and life. Right Wrong Guy is just perfect for summer because it’s hot and it’s yummy.

A well written romance story, perfectly mixing the steamy passion between the characters, with the tender adoration they feel for each other. Written with humor, adding a bit danger and family drama, the author delivers an entertaining and enticing tale.
In the small town, where everyone knows each other, where family values are appreciated, and possibilities are endless, Eden wants to start a new chapter in her life. After the last minute rescue from a miserable future in Vegas, by the hot cowboy Archer, Eden feels it was a destiny, that Archer comes from the same small town where her cousin recently located.
Archer is tired of the old playboy ways, he is ready for a change, and when his grandmother requests his presence at the family farm, as the new manager, he is ready and willing to take the step.
The romance is well built and timed, I liked how Archer gave Eden time and space to get her footing in the new town, to find her place. The courting of Eden doesn't go quite like Archer planned, thanks to the rumors of his wild past, and the ex who is blackmailing Eden. Still the feelings they have for each other are clear, and getting deeper. Archer's devotion to Eden is so sweet, the way he stands up to her in front of his family, the way he takes her breath away, with the things he says to her. It is like for the first time Eden truly sees herself through Archer's eyes, and starts to bloom.
Witty, enjoyable, cheerful small town tale, that left me smiling

Utterly cute and absolutely endearing, Right Wrong Guy is that perfect contemporary romance you long to find.

Archer and Eden have a chance encounter after what can only be considered hitting the emotional rock bottom. Archer has to return home to take the reins of his family’s ranch, after another unfulfilling one night stand. Eden discovers that her finance is only marrying her for her money and becomes the run away heiress in her wedding gown.

When the runaway bride hitches a ride to Archer’s home town the carefully laid plans both have made for their lives get blown out of the water. This is the story of them rediscovering what truly makes them happy.

Right Wrong Guy was one of those stories that captures you fully. The characters jump to life off the pages. The story worms its way into your heart and you find yourself delightfully engulfed in Archer’s and Eden’s lives. Making Right Wrong Guy is a splendid escape.

THis is my first read by Lia Riley, definitely WON'T be my last.

I received this ARC copy of Right Wrong Guy from Avon Impulse in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication August 4, 2015.

It took me some time to realize this was a second book of a series and once I did, I had a bit more fun with it.

Edie and Archer are adorable together. They are so opposite at first glance, but they are aurally quite similar. Getting to see Annie and Sawyer again was great. I really enjoyed how parts of the story overlapped.

Of course, it's fairly obviously what's going to happen in the end, but the story to get there was enjoyable. All in all, a quick, cute read. I can't wait to get book 3.

**Huge thanks to Avon Impulse and Edelweiss for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review**

I liked this more than the first one even though this began with my pet peeve, an author trying to establish a hero's studliness by having him wake-up with two women in bed and a night he can't remember. I honestly find such thing just plain skeevy to be honest. The book kind of goes back and shows us how the h/H who we see in the first book set on new paths in their life. The heroine runs into the hero when she is running away from her sleazy fiancee who wants her money. The heroine decides to go with the hero to his home-town where her distant cousin lives. I liked this one, it had a hero/heroine who had so far led an aimless life and were now deciding to change up things, with heroine becoming a business owner and hero assuming more family responsibility. I liked how the hero didn't try to lie to the heroine about his past and let her decide as and when she wanted to let him in.

4 1_2 Star Review

This book was just so smooth, so relaxing and enjoyable, so NICE. That's my overwhelming feeling after finishing it, it was just nice. Which I think is both ironic and kind of the entire point of the Brightwater series. It' supposed to be relaxing, inviting and give you the feeling that you are coming home to a comfortable place. That's exactly how this book feels...like the most comfortable place to spend your time.

The main characters are amazing in this book. Actually, I preferred both Archer and Edie significantly over the main characters of the first book. They both have good hearts, brave romantic notions and clever funny senses of humor. I laughed alot, I I rooted for them both to do the right thing...ALOT. I was happy when they were happy and sad when they were sad...ALOT. Archer is a special kind of sweet and Edie has a surprisingly special kind of strength. And the town of Brightwater is an enticing kind of character all it's own, with Grandma Kane, Sherriff Sawyer, newspaper editor Annie and a host of other familiar faces. Grandma was especially engaging in this book, showing a new side to her personality that is a pleasant addition.

There was not a whole lot of angst or conflict in this one, little pockets of it here and there, but nothing significant, which was perfectly fine with me. Instead of that distracting me from the book, it really drew me in. This book was a quick read for me, it flowed so smoothy that that time flew by, another sign of a good book for me. This book was a huge step in the right direction for this series and I'm looking forward to the next one.

If I had to describe Right Wrong Guy by Lia Riley in a few words it would be “Adorable and Charming.”

Eden is in Las Vegas to get married, but she isn’t exactly jumping for joy about this union. When she finds out that her fiancée is a cheating bastard, she leaves him at the alter, and stops in at a diner for breakfast where she meets Archer. Archer is at the diner recovering from a one-night stand, but right away he is drawn to Eden.

At first I was a tiny bit nervous that Archer was not going to be for me. You know, with the whole one-night stand thing, and never committing. But very quickly I realized what a nice guy Archer was. I loved seeing him realize that he needed to get his life together if he wanted to be with Eden. And he DEFINITELY wanted to be with Eden.

As for Eden, yeah I totally adored her. She got engaged right after the death of her mother, when she was feeling lost and alone in the world. But when she decides to leave her fiancée, and start her life over, she really commits to it. It was not an easy thing for her to do, but she did and I loved that. Eden can be shy and quiet, but she also stands up when she needs to.

Oh my gosh, Archer and Eden were just so delightful together. The beginning of the book was my favorite. I loved seeing these two meet and get to know each other. I loved that there was never any crazy relationship drama between Archer and Eden. They would talk to each other like rational adults, and they would listen to what the other had to say.

Bascially, Right Wrong Guy is perfect when you are looking for a lighter, adorable and charming read. This review was originally posted on Quinn's Book Nook

I am so in love with this series. It just keeps getting better and better. Archer might be my favorite so far and his story was all I thought it would be.

Archer was a manwhore but once he meets Eden in Vegas he starts to think about changing his ways. Eden was about to get married but on her wedding day she discovers her fiancé is a cheat and only marrying her for her trust fund. She runs into Archer and lucky for her he lives in the same town as her cousin. Archer agrees to take her back to bridge water.

I adored the characters and this town. These people help each other out. Eden is set on making a whole new life for herself and opens a coffee shop while Archer is taking over the ranch and learning to be responsible. The attraction between these two is just perfect.

Archer doesn't rush things with Eden which was nice and he wants to show her that he is a changed man and wants to be with only her which was so sweet. What I loved most about this book was it had some pretty funny parts that I couldn't stop laughing about. The part with a leech on his cock was freaking funny!

Their love story wasn't rushed and I actually enjoyed when the ex showed up now and then with the blackmail. It helped make the storyline. I just couldn't get enough of Archer and Eden. It was also nice to catch up with Annie and Sawyer.

Riley writes with humor, heart and keeps you engaged from beginning to end. I can't wait to see what she has in store for Wilder! This series should be on everyone's to read pile.

In this follow up to Last First Kiss, we get the story Archer Kane and Eden Bankcroft-Kew, or Edie Banks as she was known in book one. Archer is the youngest Kane brother and the the one best known for his easy laughs and manwhore ways. While Edie is trying to go a new direction in her life and decides that opening and running a local coffee shop is what she wants to do.

This story actually happens around Last First Kiss. Meaning, it starts prior to the events in that book and continues after it's conclusion. It was interesting seeing some familiar scenes through another set of eyes as well as getting a different perspective on previously met characters.

Archer and Edie had an interesting start to their relationship, meeting for the first time in a diner; each one having had a moment of insight into the direction their life's were taking them. Their meet cute had me smiling and looking forward to their further interactions. Each was a path of change, but not for the other person, for themselves. It just happened to work out that it also brought them closer together. I really liked how that worked. *smile*

This was a fun story and gave us more background and history for "America's Biggest Little Town" as well as Grandma Kane. She's really starting to grow on me. I bet there's a lot more to her than we have seen so far. I waffled back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, but ended up giving this book 4 stars (I went with 3.5 and rounded up).

Thanks to Edelweiss and Avon for the opportunity to read and review the book.

Archer Kane meets Eden Bankcroft-Kew in a diner in Las Vegas. It was a bad day for both of them, but it got better when Eden bummed a ride to his hometown of Brightwater.

Archer is used to being the family screw up. He is the playboy, the joker, etc. Only after he meets Eden that he finds out he wants more out of his life. He helps her make a new start, but he is afraid what she may believe in the rumors about him.

Eden is making changes. Now she goes by Edie Banks. She is the proud owner of a little cafe where she bakes and makes the town happy. Her competition is out to get her, her ex-fiance is out to bankrupt her, and she is new in town so many people do not trust her.

Archer knows that making something of himself means starting over a bit like Edie. He wants her to be proud of him. Someday he hopes her to fall in love with him. He has to make himself someone she can be proud to call hers.

The whole story is rather sweet and has many faces that are familiar to those of you already reading the Brightwater series. This is only book # 2, so it is not too late to get into this sweet little town with complex characters. It can be read as a standalone for those of you who wish to just try this one.

I found myself smiling throughout this book, I so enjoyed it! It is sweet with just the right amount of heat to keep it real. Archer is a bad boy cowboy who has been away from the family and hopping from one night stand to one night stand. That all ends when he is called home to help the family ranch. Then there is Eden who was supposed to be a bride, but changes her mind and goes on the run! She lands in Archer's territory and it is hot sparks at first sight, which we read about in the first book in this series. Now the sparks are igniting and this city girl could be the perfect fit for this hot country cowboy! The description of the little town is so good, it makes me want to move there. The characters are people you would love to be friends with and hang out with. All and all a really terrific story. I love the depth of both the story and the characters! Definitely looking forward to spending some more time with this series.

Archer is by far my favorite Kane man--although I'm very intrigued by Wilder!! This was a sweet, heartfelt and laugh-out-loud romance that kept me reading WAY past an acceptable time to go to bed. Anyone who is looking for a fun read that will put a smile on your face from the first page to the last needs to check out Right Wrong Guy. Can't wait for the third book in the series. <3
